Where Reveries Reside

Tears subside,
hushed breaths draw ebbing tide,
soft virgin sands, un-walked and damp, shine.

A delicate filigree of silvery brine
brings an interlude where grief and beauty entwine,
gently swaying between now and then.

Thoughts of ‘remember when’
stir again.

Scattered far and wide,
bygones shimmer in rock pools,
scents on breezes ride...
elusive remnants of love
under bitter-sweet moonlight.

There is a place where reveries reside,
ensconced in time between the lows and highs,
where troubles disappear in ocean’s sighs
and hopes return with happiness inside.

Where shades of blue, and rose hues coincide
to nurture promises of sweet reprise,
there is a place where reveries reside,
ensconced in time between the lows and highs.

A haven to reflect on love’s divide,
recall that smile, the twinkle of those eyes
with fondness, then let woven dreams arise
with threads of gilded memories to guide...
this is the place where reveries reside.

Contest:Gogyoka

Sponsor: Joann Grisetti

##Gogyoka, is a form of Japanese poetry pioneered by Enta Kusakabe in 1957 in his quest to find freedom from the constraints of tanka poetry. Unlike tanka, gogyoka does not have any syllable requirement for the length of its lines. The only hardfast rule of gogyoka is that the poem should be five lines long, with line breaks occurring as a result of natural breath-pattern, which is individual to a particular speaker and their language.

Mirror Reflection

There as I’m standing I sure see my reflection In a cold mirror On the wall across the way As light cascades down on it It does seem as though Stark and harsh in appearance The rugged mirror Pulls life in, pulsates some out A semblance of what it sees A gorgeous image If there is something pretty That presents itself In line with the great mirror Then life sees beauty as well We desire to see Life with a beautiful base Want for perfection I see me in the mirror So what do I make of it… What is it I truly see?

	Wow, what did I do?
I can’t bear the pain she flaunts
	Her disappointment…

His Last Wish

Draped in twilight's veil that December afternoon was slipping past him; how he wished to pause time once in the twilight of his life. A late waking up; standing on the edge of life with his muffled voice he prayed for a reversal of the time and of his life. Glimpses of childhood, mother's lap as his pillow, colourful days' call, how he wanted all those back just for once, in this twilight. © kash poet ===============000===============

                 A Contest: Remembering 9/11

My heart goes out for the sake of innocent lives lost in this inferno. In no way, is my verse meant to be insensitive to this tragedy of innocent lives lost. I just want to write about the higher precept reason, misunderstood, behind the game and not the end human concept stress. Love's energy policy must be balanced it has damages imposed in the economics of the human concept of greed. It is only that I think this game to be fulfillment of biblical prophecy. Read in Jeremiah Chapter 51:11-14 kjv to justify the prediction of which I speak. The world monetary policy led by America is the image of a prostitute.(c kjv Rev. Chapter 17&18) This economy as is must be destroyed. (Rev. 17:16-18)

Fear is A Prison

                                                  Fear is a prison -
Unseen chains bind you from truth,
                                               Removing freedom,
                                    Shackling your future, your dreams,
                                          Holding your life in bondage.

                                                Fear is a roadblock -
                                        Blocking you from your desires,
                                                Torturing your soul,
                                           Stifling your creative juices,
                                      Holding you back from greatness.

Fear is not from God -
He can break fear's grip on you,
                                              He can loose your chains.
Freedom is yours, if you'll ask.
Fear need not be your master.

Weighing Reflections

Weighing Reflections

while listening
to the early birds singing
my mind, longing
for the break of day
ending nights contemplations

thoughts cluster still
on the edge of darkness
as concerns mound
tripping the days awakening
with apprehension

sipping coffee
as the sun peeps its head
realities, hanging
on the rim of reflection
bartering questions queued

early birds
catching their worms?
trivial nonsense
against life’s ledger
marked in black on white

a bed of petals
scattered in a briar patch
may smell sweet---
thorns hidden from view
wearing rose hued shades
