Faith In God Makes A Difference

                                            Commitments are hard
Time is swift and life is short
                                              Misfortunes happen
Faith in God makes a difference
                                         Times will pass much easier

NEIGHBORHOOD ALERT

NEIGHBORHOOD ALERT

On December 1st
(even before) lights go up
A celebration?
Take a moment for some thought
A celebration of what?

Not of neighborhood
Certainly not group concern
The lights are patchwork
Standing alone in the dark
A few proclaiming their faith

The rest are not sure
Not certain what it all means
Alone with their fears
The clear night sky filled with stars
Yet the rest are not certain

HE giver of life
Has sent us a messenger
A Divine poet
Gatherer of neighborhoods
The message “Let there be LIGHT”

Dance for Dionysus

Tanka/ Haiku

Dionysian’s
Drunken Roman Bacchante (1) footnotes

Trained not by hubris
Phalli held in revere
His spirit flows through rapture

Succubus eat them alive
Gynarchy apothesized

Drunken honored god
Children and men torn apart
In a sensuous moment

Oh! Oh how we sing!
Dionysus flows his wine
How we rhyme and chime-
Frenzied ****ing in circle
Prove to Him our Miracle

"Your desires speak-
My beloved enchantress
Sweat, dance, Love for Me
Use My phallice, drink My wine-
Worship Me till end of Time"

it is roughly wisdom's opposite. It means recklessness, deep ignorance about oneself and the nature of the universe. It leads to
excess, impatience. He irrationally rejects Dionysus and the new religion; his unthinking and uncompromising scorn for popular
piety and the new teachings is neither rational nor open-minded. But he is also very young, and his youth in part excuses his crimes

In Praise of the Holy Spirit

Oh, Holy Spirit, Your leadership heals our souls. When mankind finds You ever ready to grant peace, Your light is felt in each heart. War, famine, illness -- all these maladies you purge. Blessed Dove of peace, You give love to all nations, hoping for benevolence. When kindness prevails, it’s Your spirit that we praise; we have You to thank. Your light leads the way for us. We are blessed with Your deep love. We are but sinners, seeking Your divine guidance. We’re given choices, but only You can lead us to everlasting accord.

Descent of the Holy Spirit

Psalm 44

                                        O God, we have heard…
                                        eyewitnesses, without gain
but all to lose, shouted it
                                        Christ’s Resurrection!
                                        Mute Synagogue supported

Footnote:
I think is necessary to explain the last line of this poem. Pentecost as described in Acts 2:1 thru 4 is about the apparitions of Christ after His Resurrection: The Descent of the Holy Ghost. More than five hundred, both Jews and Gentiles, witnessed apparitions of Christ after His Resurrection. The fact of Christ's Resurrection was accepted by the persuasive silence of the Synagogue which had done all to prevent fraud, falsehood, or perjury. On the contrary, its behavior of tolerance and non intervention helps to grow the early Christianity. This, and just this, is the idea I wanted to state in the poem. It wasn’t my intention to offend or make any disrespectful comment about Judaism. I have many friends who are Jews or Muslims; and we always respect our faiths. Peace and love, my friends. One more thing, it’s just a thought: I think that without the Resurrection, the growth of the Christian Church would have been a greater phenomenon than the Resurrection itself. Don’t you think? Ruben.

Contest: Pentecost Poem (using the first line of a Psalm from the Bible on the theme of Pentecost as described in Acts 2 :1 thru 4)
Sponsor: Brian Strand.

THUS SPAKE TAO - (triple tanka)

Love cannot be bought
Peace cannot be commanded
Silence is the key -
When actions or the lack of
Speak out with silent wisdom

When man understands
All life has an equal part
Has a primal share
Then with unselfish ardor
Goes about his chosen work

Always outpouring
Never commanding silent
Not seeking greatness
Greatness lay in humbleness
A man's deeds speak for themselves

Three Christmas Desires

Happy Santa Day
Here’s my short list of desires
I wish complete peace
My wish came true this very morn
My tree held exquisite cross

My second wish now
No more greed upon the earth
At the stroke of noon
Golden abyss circled world.
Tree had a smiley face bulb.

As this day ended
My third wish for no hunger
Became abundant
A note found, said "down-to-earth".
My tree now bore so much fruit.

Something wonderful happened
You are now at peace
Like a phoenix rising up
From the ashes you prevail

We shall not mourn you
For you are not gone at all
We may not see you
Your presence lives on in us
Enduring the test of time

Radiant light shines
Upon us all forever
Glorious rays gleam
Emitting from your spirit
Keeping your memory strong

The lives you have touched
Will never forget you now
Though we may shed tears
These are tears of happiness
Your spirit forever reigns

In the days to come
When we are all together
Celebrating life
Your spirit will consume us
Your peace will be our strength

Joy and happiness
Will be felt every moment
You gave us reason
To have faith in the future
Your legacy will live on…………..
