Wish I Was Your Addiction

Wish I was your addiction,
Upon a star non fiction,
never ending hole so deep,
Life would seem more complete

If you'd wake up,
crack open my bedroom door,
To think you'd been dreaming about me,
God gave you everything you need and more,
What Id give to feel those arms hug me,
genuinely, honestly, no love withholding

If I was your vice,
I would be the answer to your stress,
Of all else you try,
I'd always bring out the best,
You'd spend time with me ,
defend me to the end,
You'd be incredibly loyal,
I'd consider you my best friend

No recovery program could treat,
the connection we'd share no one could defeat,
You'd need to see my all the time,
reminders of me everywhere, your life would be a shrine,

Wish I was your addiction,
Upon a star non fiction
never ending hole so deep,
Life would seem more complete

The King Of Pop

from his abc's
to that freaky billy jean

came a pop star
for all to love and see

from the apollo's stage
wondered if you were ready for screaming rage

for you never had a childhood of bliss
only done what was on joseph's list

a studded white glove
and white socks just because

a star on the hollywood walk of fame
for you sang and danced showing no shame

scandals of twisted truth
did not detour you from your missing youth

neverland was your own safari escape
who would figure your best friend would be a chimp of faith

michael may god cradle you in his arms
and basked in your king of pops worldly charm

will forever miss that porcelain smile
and always think of you on my radio dial

for now your at your heavens trial
may god forgive this lost and lonely child

dad army

Dad´s Army

On the Milky Way a black cloud appeared,
not dark as the night, but as a whole year
of winter nights put together and blended
with stygian thoughts of a suicidal dictator.
Then slowly the cloud began to dissipate,
became whispery as Fidel Castro´s beard.
…And there, on blue silk, a new born star,
unexciting at first but it grew stronger by
the galaxy minute- which last a bit longer
than on earth-, till it one day sparkled with
pride especially around Christmas.
The moment a new star is born an old star
lights up, like northern light, for so to fall
into perpetuity, and I shall not see my old
friend Clive Dunn again.

Solitude: To Yoda, An Ode

Green bark a prism creates,
Feel the pull of earth, you must.

Rotates, a slime of endless hates,
Can hold me not, this world’s crust.

Friendship’s ties, isolation Deflates,
Succumbs, my spaceship, to bitter rust.

Mist, my soul forever permeates,
Lift-off, booms the rocket’s thrust.

My spirit when light returns, elates,
Swamps swell, swallowed hope’s swirling dust.

Trapped, I am, until student from fate
Arrives to learn; Cloud City or bust.

New Year's Eve

Can’t think about the Year that didn’t last
Can’t fight the time and how it passed so fast…
Voices were cheerful that night
Everyone was full of silver light

I heard the sounds but didn’t care
I couldn’t help but only think and stare…
I dreamed of love that possibly I’ll never share
And of life that was just like a fairytale.

In that second of complete despair
I saw the moon and realized it was all a dare
Then your voice whispered in my ear
Promising me all I needed to hear…

the love we had seemed so far away

i look to stars and wishes flew through space never to be heard again
fun to friends hearts do meld and break facing until time ends
this loop that plays and beats that syncopate become but a gem
pleasure a chest opened in surprise feeling no need to defend
galaxies away lonely planets please keep me in mind
distance could grow something fond or lost between the lines
gps my love you can see its still where I left it behind
thoughts fade away with life love lives forever in my rhyme

Im sorry, I wanted more, with all this space between
disconnected and I still look to that day
we talked on the phone, our separate homes
the love we had seemed so far away

without air i couldnt breathe squeezed until I'm passing by
no water flow my skin would dry and I return to the sky
sunny days would blacken out, attracting need for desperate lies
to make up for the beauty lost from death slowly closing my eyes
that fire once sparking motion snuffed in huffs slipping away
dwifting I sway shaky grounds where once I sat easily and stay
upon my feet I still float drowning out all thoughts that stray
Tho these ends can come swift its worse to miss and hear you say

Im sorry, I wanted more, with all this space between
disconnected and I still look to that day
we talked on the phone, our separate homes
the love we had seemed so far away

down the road, flying free, I ride the wave and hope for your return
through several seas and cloudy peaks, storms of sand, I will not turn
helpless to fate and future events, nothing prevents something to learn
sights may not sore, nothing much looking more, isn't my concern
I hope the best and happyness is true to bless you, not just in dreams
we can meet when we sleep discussing life while sleeping seems
thanks for trying Im not exactly dying, banes of sentient beings
real enough moving on is rough, i'll love you forever, writting my means

Son of the Morning

Once, he had the most brilliant light
In Heaven, he'd been the star even at night
The most favored, the most beautiful
He never thought one day he'd become a fool

He was always pure, never felt insecure
Until Heaven borne one special creature
And the angels cried, the angels wondered
What would happen if they are no longer favored?

Angels watched as Heaven gave the man a special woman
My beloved one walked away, flame in his hand
Why the special gift for a man made in soil?
That was when anger and envy started to boil

The most beautiful star sat alone in silence
Heaven's in peace, can he dare start a violence?
Yes, he would for the love of Heaven
So he called all his beloved brethren

War would never do good for anyone
He knew from the sight of blood in his hands
And stared at the ground where his brethren laid
From the bloody battle, my beloved angel turned away

His wings unfurled, made of pure Heaven and glory
They were as black as night, magnificent and lovely
He made once last glance as he begun to descend
He knew he made a mistake he could never amend

It was his nature, no other pleasure than flying
But his heart broke knowing that he's falling
He landed to the ground, broken and wounded
Tears from his eyes, he felt ashamed and abandoned

He stood alone in the middle of the night
His wings dimmed, slowly fading its light
For the first time, he felt the rain on his skin
And for the first time, he shivered from the coldness of the wind

He looked up and saw his brethren
Why did they follow him, he's a Fallen
They bowed their heads, still loving him
So he decided, He's Lucifer and no longer the Son of the Morning

Talking Frank

she hid
like a little mouse
with windows barred
to block the light
and peering eyes

she grew
in that sunless
cage
from adolescent dreams
to a women's longing

fought with insecurity
penning her
hopes
on humanity
that had drifted away

she wrote
with anticipation
filled with yearning
to understand
such cruelty

with no answers
she searched
why
what had they done
would they ever know

in the night they came
with weapons fixed
swinging slurs
to wound
her soul

they gave her a star
and a ticket
to take a train
new adventures
from which she'd never
return

the star soon replaced
by numbers
carved into
tender skin
and she cried
for her father

she was the child
of her mother
and of her mother's mother
she was the remains
of sanity

she stared at the camp
not a children's thing
with ponies and playgrounds
but with gas chambers
and crematoriums
and she cried

for herself
for her family
and for the world
as they led her inside
she penned last words

still trying
to understand
through her tears
but there was to be
no understanding

and in the end
they laid her bones
uncerimoniously in pits
filled to the brim
with lost dreams
lost lives
and failed hope...

Grey Bird

On that cloudy weekend in June
I hear a soft and graceful tune
from the grey bird on the tree
branch
Singing sweet lullabies felt
blessed in the moment
My body tingles of joy at sight
Gazing out through
my open door,
Letting thoughts fly free
Releasing love out into the horizon
Heart filled with emotion came
over me
Grey bird stood playing its tune
for awhile and on the wings of
letting go
Then as the rain fell from the
sky the grey bird flew away
gracefully
I blew a kiss to the clouds and
utterd these simple words of I
Love You father ( who's now in
heaven ) and yet I hope to hear
that grey bird sing again once
more for me
Farewell, love your son

The Fourth Of July: A Lie 'or The Star Spangled Banner

We clad ourselves in colors as we march,
saluting independence through a foggy dream;
gazing at the night alight with flashes,
sparkles,
and firefly screams.

Rockets made in China, cascade/
to the backdrop of the Star Spangled Banner;
a flutter to the wind blown flags made in Brazil
and "I Love America Pins" upon our lapel;
(made in Mexico).

We stand on oceanfront (it’s owned by France)
gazing ‘pon the open sea,
the port is owned by Saudis/
but at least we stand here free.

Our hands steadfast upon our chest,
saluting whichever freedoms still remain,
those freedoms, their going fast;
and they’ll disappear one day.

We gaze into the abyss of night,
the twinkling tears that kiss our cheek,
immersing ourselves in awe of moment,
before it fades our dreams to sleep.

We stand enamored with this land,
the love that lurks within our hearts,
we celebrate this love/
...in part;

fore tomorrow, standing is banned.

Swept By Sight

Over and across the moon
In this lonely night,
I stare at the castellation
Which glitters your face.
But because I miss you
The wind whirls out your name
Then eventually it feels like rain in my heart.
As the clouds draw near
Deep down within, my river turns to a sea.
With tears in my eyes,
I look away.
Because I refuse to let the storm determine my destiny
Because it's your hurricane that I fear the most.

Joan Of Arc

Come with me
Deep in the stars
We shall lie upon this grass
For a few hours, touching
Gently blow a kiss
Into the depth of the sky
And all apologies
Shall be caught in eased sigh
Allow me to lead you through this world black
Around it and back
You wear pain
As though chains
Were embracing all loves luxuries
Alas we will not die in slight defeat
Waiting for the night to stare
A star gazing through your eyes
Knows you truly do care
And slightly dims when you cry
For there is a star in the sky
And a glow in the moon
Guiding your way with its light
Tranquility will subside soon
So if you believe in pretend
And reach way up high
The stars angel shall descend
Abolishing all tears from your eyes
It’s painful to you
So is the truth
Can’t you understand?
Words are forgivable
For when we clasp our hands
They become retrievable
Now words are meaningless
And forgettable
Far too late to change events
Time for consequence
Again you kiss the sky
Wave your goodbye
A star smiles and begins to cry
Washing away all pain
You arise from the grass
In the warm blanket of tears in rain

Swinging On A Star

My tears have bought you
The brightest star in the sky.
I fancy you there,
Starring among the angels
As you did for me on Earth..

Always Shine

Tame thy shattered heart, with thou tragic tears;
of lost love tyrannies, of many truth less years.
I give you back my heart, fort it’s near a bust;
a ruptured, leaking vessel, pumps hatred and lust.

As the stars shine brightly, they softly speak your name;
the tongue slips gently, and casts it’s shameless blame.
Near a deadly defeat, of a broken spiritual bliss –
Casts one vibrant, beautiful star, which we’ll forever miss.

I’ll relinquish this guilt of who must now be found;
this diminishing self-serving star, whose now never around.
As the night turns into darkness, I’ll search for that star –
just to capture a glimpse, of this brilliant stellar very far.

And when I’m sad and lonely and are in need of my friend;
I’ll always remember that fading star and this broken heart I tend.
I’ll close my teary, weary eyes, and cast a wish far above –
Shine, shine little star – so brightly filled with love.

Snowing Stars

It was the New Year s Eve, the cold December day
Snow covered the charcoal roads, the wind in trees lay.

She could see the lights in the cozy dining hall
Warm chaos and family reunion; a merry Time’s call.

The snow thickened and the wind rose, harsher and harsher still
When the mighty clock struck midnight, she leaned by the window sill.

It was years and years ago, that she had defeated fate.
To meet her one and only and to lose him to such wait.

Now ten years later as she looks at the little celebration
She wonders if she gave up her life to futile aggravation.

If only he were here, If only he returned her call
If only she knew why Lady Fortune had taken away her all.

But the years have passed and the Time has changed.
He is not hers to summon and she to him is estranged.

This New Year’s eve, she promises to herself
Like every preceding year, she will put the past on a shelf!

She has not succeeded so far and she knows she will not.
She looks out the window, content at her lot.

The family in the little cottage is having a joyous fête
She looks on with a solemn smile and marvels at her state.

Years have come and gone by and many more will do
Before she can meet, her matchèd star too.

As the star-shaped snow, falls softly on the ground
Her eyes tread the path, without a single sound.

They look like twinkling stars if you catch them on your hand
They render the earth heavenly and they charm you as they land.

‘Snowing stars, my snowing stars’, she calls them her own.
As every snowing star buries the memories she has known.

Under the snowing stars, she had cried all along,
Under the snowing stars, she will stay and hold strong.

Till then she will sit there, by the ragged window sill
And pray to the snowing stars, to bring Life its will.

**The title of the poem is not my own, I read the phrase online and wrote the poem because it triggered the thoughts. :)

The Star

She stands facing the ocean, majestic in awe
Her tears flooding freely for all that is gone

It is the not knowing why, she whispers aloud
An emptiness inside she cannot understand

She did her best, to be his lover, his friend
The crying won't stop, will this ever end

She wipes away a tear, a light catches her eye
She looks up, it disappears; figures she says

She brushes the sand off her trembling body
The light reappears and it is a solitude star

It is tiny and far, though brilliantly lit
She stands up tall and faces the star
She asks for guidance, the how and the why

The star flashes once, then dimly fades away
She pauses and stares, what does this mean

This tiny star will guide her to hope
She feels this light will carry her far
To a place as calm; as the brightly lit star.

The Gunslinger

He was a gunslinger from the lone star state,
With a mind full of anger and a heart full of hate.
He wore two six shooters, one on each hip,
With the notches of the dead cut into the grip.
The eyes of this gunslinger showed no emotion or fear,
Every one kept there eyes on him when he was near.
Then along came a stranger, with a star upon his chest,
Looking for the man from the deep southwest.
He called the man out from the lone star state.
He knew that talking was useless, his words would carry no weight.
As they pulled there guns, the gunslinger gave it his best.
But the bullet that struck first was from the man with the star on his chest.
When the gunslinger hit the ground, the marshal asked him why,
The man from the lone star state showed emotion and shed a tear from his eye.
She was just a kid when the gang rode into town,
She was barely sixteen, why did they gun her down.
You finally put me to rest, the anger and hate will finally subside,
And as the gunslinger past away, the marshal finally knew why.

Shady's poem, a poem dedicated to my dog, not quite finished

The night sky is lit up by stars
One by one each flickers away
One by one each love is dead
Until the sky is black and gone

One bright star is all that remains
I reach for the light
but it pulls away
and flickers just the same

Let me fall; so it can rise
Let me dullen; so it can shine

I pray with all my heart
I cry with all my tears
I work until I sweat
Just to save that last star in my sky

The Moroccan Star - Dedicated to my rapist, Ach

The Moroccan star shines down on me tonight
Giving me light to keep going
Have to fight
Masquerading as a white knight
You are but a dark, gloomy reminder of Hell
Dancing on my spleen
Crumpling my feet
Galloping across my heart
Trampling my mind with your corrosion and wrath
You masqueraded as a Moroccan man
Pretended to possess gentleness and beauty
Deceived me into thinking you were my friend
But, you were a foe
It is obvious to comprehend now
But then all I could see was the Moroccan star
Waving on your flag

Fame and Stardom

Attainment of success, stardom and fame
Remains the ultimate dream of many
Who seek the publication of their name
Upon the future pages of history

The journey to such a destination
Requires effort and dedication
Those who at last gain such recognition
Enjoy a well deserved satisfaction

Some celebrities who make this journey
Find coping with this new life can be rough
There's an invasion of their privacy
And the demands of stardom can be tough

They then turn to some drug to ease the stress
Whether it's alcohol or other stuff
Soon their entire life can become a mess
And dealing with it's pressures can be rough

Bouts of anxiety and depression
Are what they have to endure constantly
Some develop a serious addiction
That may lead to suicidial tendency

Women tend to choose a gentler ending
Like drug overdose or a means that's neat
Some may opt to end it all by hanging
Mindful not to mess up the body sheath

Some men go for a violent ending
By putting a bullet through their own head
Others jump off a bridge or tall building
Seeking to ensure that they will be dead

Those aspiring to fame and stardom
Pursue your dream and goal diligently
Just be mindful of how things can become
And seek to be guided accordingly

Whitney Houston(singer, actress) – drug overdose
L'Wren Scott(fashion designer, model) - hanging
Kurt Cobain(singer, songwriter) – bullet to head
Tony Scott(Academy award winning actor) – jumped off bridge

Fading Star (Part One)

Sometimes you are stopped in your tracks and you have to stop and stare,
I saw someone so beautiful, but she was just sitting there.
As the world passed her by in all its majestic glory,
I stopped a stranger and asked of him, ‘Do you know of this girl’s story?’

He stopped and looked at me and bowed down his head,
He told me that she was someone once, but many think she’s dead.
It happened a long time ago, her lover did her a wrong,
The tale he can’t remember but the words are in a distant song.

I wanted to know so much more so I waited there that day,
To see if she would turn towards me or just walk the other way.
But she sat with far away eyes on her sad expressionless face,
I looked around for guidance, but we were strangers alone in this place.

But life wasn’t always like this, I found out in a little while,
There was a time when she laughed and her face always carried a smile.
Everywhere she went, people stopped and stared,
So many people loved her, so many people cared.

Climbing up the wall is now the highlight of her day,
Remembering when to go and never out doing her stay.
Eyes completely open, staring blankly at the wall,
Is she waiting for forgiveness or destiny to call?

I decided to take a chance, I moved across the room,
My heart was beating faster, have I moved to her too soon?
I stopped by her table and asked, ‘Is this seat taken?’
Her sad eyes looked up to me, warming if I am not mistaken.

Words were not forthcoming, but I saw a glimpse of a smile,
I sat down slowly, heart beating faster, my senses were on trial.
I went to say a word, but she stopped me with a fleeting glance,
My whole body mesmerised, it was if I was in a trance.

Keep me close

The feeling of your hands
clenching onto mine.
We lay side by side
giggling once and a while.
Keep me close

From the time you said hello
to my tears on your shoulder
We avoided the conversation us separating
until the day before.

You knew what I thought
you knew when I was lying
My favorite person in the world
I loved you from then until now.

I think about you every day
wondering if you still feel the same
that star is the only star I wish upon
wishing the same thing every night

Your freckles and dimples,
you smile, you're so unique.
The mud between our toes,
and rain on our eyelashes.

The only regret was leaving you.
I want to remember feeling of your breath.
If I ever see you again
keep me close

Fading Star (Part Two)

Her eyes sparkled and a smile played on her lips,
She looked all around the room, held her coffee, took two sips.
‘The world is still a beautiful place’, were the first words that she spoke,
‘I haven’t been here for a thousand years.’ I thought it was a joke.

It was then that I really looked at her as the sun played with her hair,
I knew right then that I was alone and she wasn’t really there.
I was sitting with a ghost, who was worlds away from her time,
She sits here alone drinking coffee, just waiting for a sign.

So I raised my hat and bade her well and wished her on her way,
I left her some money and smiled and then I got up to walk away.
But I stopped and looked at her face to see if there was any pain,
I told her in the nicest way that I hoped that I would never see her again.

My Shining Star

You went away,
Way too far.
But you will always be,
My shining star.
My star that shines in the sky,
To tell me you’re still there.
You’re my star that always shines,
To tell me you still care.
My star that is always there,
That never loses its shine.
The only one in the sky,
That I always seem to find.
The one that never,
Ever goes away.
Always there,
Where it wills always stay.
It will be there shining down on me,
Whenever I need it.
And also when,
I feel like I need to quit.
And it will be there,
When everything’s not okay.
Because you’re my shining star,
That’s never going away.

Morning Star

Across her village far deep in to the forrest Morning Star found peace and
contentment. Here away from her village, the young girl enjoyed the daylight
hours with the sounds and beauty of nature and it's animals. Beyond the forrest
the mountains held a mystery all their own. Their beauty touched her soul and
spirit yet they seems so far off to her.Her thoughts wondered what lay over them
and what new world lay beyond those haunting peaks reaching to the sky.
Suddenly the early morning was shattered by the sounds of gunfire. With all
the men gone hunting no one was there to protect the village. Morning Star's
thoughts were of not only the others in the village but of her mother and baby
sister, she had to get back to them. Screams of women and children cut through
the forrest as the scent of smoke and the sounds of horses grew closer.
Suddenly the sounds began to fade and only the smell of smoke remained. As
she stood at the clearing, Morning Star saw what was left of her village. Unable to
move as her eyes looked across the bodies of women and children laying all
around. Tears filled her eyes as she walked by so many searching for her
mother and baby sister, hoping that they had fled to safety. There in the dirt lay
her mother clutching her baby sister, both dead. How could this have happened?
How could the soldiers have done this to them?
Morning Star placed a blanket over her their lifeless bodies and slowly walked
away. Her life as she knew it was gone, dead along with her mother and baby
sister. She was the only survivor. Slowly she walked back into the forrest. Dusk
was beginning and the forrest would keep her safe for the night. Tomorrow she
would search for a way up to the mountains, there she would find a path to her
destiny and what the spirits have chosen for her. She would be the only one to
tell the story of all who had been lost this day. She would be the only one to keep
their story alive for generations after this.
