A Tribute to The Highlander

His talent as a Bard explodes
From an exquisite mind it flows
Through an instrument of script
Flooding parchment reverberating
Through the psyche creating waves
Reaching the far ends of the universe

Words of truth deep sentiment flourish
Propelling legitimate personal emotions
Giving due praise to brave loyal and true
To God nature his love and fellow Bards and
The magnificent highlands he loves so well
Always uplifting inspiring and sharing

Accept this tribute from an amateur a friend
With gratitude for reading commenting for
Being just who you are, The Highlander

Poet Destroyer A

Poetess she is, whose magic is cast with great ease
Opulent in words, charming to the utmost degrees,
Engraving hisses, silhouettes, images of natures surreal
Trespassing horizons never stretched out to an ideal

Destroyer as known for, although she's here to compose
Enchating poems and songs her beautiful soul bestows
Such a fusion encourages poets to hold their inks and quills
To write 'bout nymphs in seas or orchards filled with daffodils
Rampantly defeated by her as what often happens, except
Of all practiced skilled writers she's definitely the most adept
Yielded in a words-battle having a single acknowledged end
Efficacious "She" is by far a star who can simply transcend,
Reproductions of literary stylistic forms in her magnificent way

A lady I know as Linda with a pseudonym Poet Destroyer A!

Tribute to Negative People

Here’s to all the negative people
You know how the story goes
If brains were freakin’ dynamite
You couldn’t blow your nose
When people make rude comments
They act without common sense
If you’re negative and reading this
I hope you take offense
When I hear about my friends put down
Every bone in my body cries
If you rub yourself with Preparation H
You’ll probably shrink in size
So if this makes you pout and cry
I didn’t mean to put you down
Besides someone already wrote a song
About the tears of a clown
I’ve changed my ways in recent days
And try to act with class
If I had run into you twenty years ago
You would have been laying on your @ss
So take your sarcasm somewhere else
And leave our poets alone
And try to find your self-esteem
In a place called the twilight zone.

Dedicated to those who need to
Make negative comments.

Enigma's Calling

Extraordinary, I am
Craving for unusual thoughts
Endless exploration without boundary
Understanding the gift I shouldn't fought

Invisible drawings in my mind
Playing with the words in my head
My passion
The food of my soul

I feel so lucky
The random thoughts
A lifetime companion
A self esteem builder
A goal planner
Be my forever life saver

I write more
I talk less
I want to please
I chose to bore

What tickles me the most
Is to know what I'm for
Thinking is my love
When my mind goes empty
That's when I hate

My day dreaming lust
Organizing things in my mind
Playing roles of simulation
Where images of art is my vision
And words of attitude is my heart

Tribute to a Polished Stone

It is so difficult to measure,
any metaphysical treasure.
One can only glean,
Its riches of stream,
By absorbing it at one’s leisure.

I’m speaking of poetry that hovers,
Levitating between it’s covers,
just waiting to be read,
nothing left to be said,
Literature for life and lovers.

Tribute to Elizabeth Wesley’s
 new book …
“Polished Stones”
Author House publications.

It has been a long, long time since I have read anything that
has arrested my attention long enough for me to stop and smell
the roses as has this book "Polished Stones" by Elizabeth Wesley.
 Thank you Elizabeth.

Generic Minds

generic minds listen to generic music
have generic thoughts that are unknowingly abusive
watch generic things talk about generic things
gee this generic *****is spreading like a disease
better get your flu shot
thats what they said to me
a suicidal vaccine
a subliminal killing spree
its contagious and the outrageous
thing about it is that the people are blind in an eye
that they didn't even know they had
it's sickening to watch these clueless civilians
inside the looking glass
with nightmares of being free
without a key to their mind
for it is trapped in the frequency
in the illusion of time
bathed in our universe
killing all that refuse to see
those that admit to hypocracy
or see the message in hip hop
how cant you see
the message in the lyrics that
bring adolescents to their knees
from bullet wounds conflicting their flesh
contradicting that they're the best
but the songs keep telling them that they dont need no rest
that they dont wanna go home
that they should ride alone
with the gat as their only companion
and so the only path they choose is the one that they're told
until they grow old and hope turns to a window pane
inside a window pane, until all they feel is pain
they realize that the music itself is ashamed
so whats to look up to
when you cant even speak when you cant even walk because you look so bleak
your eyes are sunken from the tv you're infested with the dee zees
now its too late to turn around and live for your conscious
so when youre screaming oh please
close your eyes and bring your mind to life
open your eyes for the first time
and never wonder why
since the answer this entire time
has been inside
and you better find it before you die
you dont want your soul to be in a pool with all the others
a buncha brothers missing their mothers
but only seeing strangers
only feeling the haters
wishing they would have used their minds when they had them
and now its too late,
now it's time for another new born fate to grab them

Devonshire, Beautiful like the County

Beauty abounds like the English Counties name This all American girl, New Jersey dame Curious I was when Devonshire graced my eyes Then I started to read and what a surprise This language we know written as art Engulfed my enthusiasm, caressed my start I just a novice on my writing road Becoming totally absorbed, eventually showed Learning my craft, soon we collaborated This budding poet, no longer shaded Her brilliant guidance, paved my lay Alphabetical characters allow me my say <*>

A Tribute to Robert L Hinshaw, CMSgt, USAF Ret

If he and I were neighbors,
Why, I doubt if we’d be friends.
On many major issues, we’d be
Found on different ends.

Just pick a topic and I know
We never would agree.
Our politics alone would prove
Dissimilarity.

And yet, I love to read his poems
And he reciprocates.
Our writing’s formed a bond of which
There can be no debates.

His rhyming stories crack me up –
They’re laughter-generators –
And he’s aware I’m partial to
A poem that mentions “taters!”

So here’s to Robert Hinshaw,
My retired Air Force friend.
I’ll always be a reader of
Whatever he has penned!

That Crazy Old Doctor

There've been times in my life
where I've just had to say,
"I must, give it all up,
for, it's that kind of day"!

I must, really say this
 I really, just must;
 if I didn't say it,
 then, it wouldn't be, "just".

There's this crazy, old man
 we'll just call him, "Doc";
 who fills up blank pages
 with, "poetical talk".

He's scribbled, and scrabbled
 'til way, past bed-time,
 trying to finish each poem
 and, complete every rhyme.

If he hadn't done this
 he'd surely gone, "mad",
 his nonsensical nature
 was, all that he had!

No hidden agenda
 when first, he wrote down,
 each poem of nonsense
 to erase a childs' frown.

And, Doc always did this
 manipulate, "clues"...
..so that , all of his poems
 were merely geared, to amuse.

He loved to let nonsense
be the order of the day,
 and, with every poem
we all smiled, the same way.

His only intention
was to set our minds, "free",
 his style, just did it
 so, poetically.

With his own tongue, in cheek
we knew we'd been had,
and his poems rhymed perfectly
proving he was no, "fad"!

The volumes of topics
 that Doc's written of,
 included all that could be
 written.....below, and above.

He's written of magic,
 puzzles, and games...
 ..with, strange little creatures,
 with, strange little, "names".

The, crazier his story,
 the saner he'd feel,
and, the more that we heard
 convinced us they were, "real"!

His poems, were genius
 as he weaved us, a tale;
 with, nonsensical rhymes
 that did so, without..."fail".

"Old Doc", has quit writing
 he's up in heaven,
 this year, his birthday'd ...
make him, a hundred, and seven!

He's given advice,
 taught what we must do,
he said, "Be who you are...
 ..no-one's youer, than....you!"

He's maybe still writing
 in, heaven....you see,
 that'd be just like him
as, that's who he must, be!

That, silly old doctor...
 ..as silly, as a goose;
 we all loved his poems,
 for, we loved Dr. Seuss!

My Dear Friend

my dear friend
my friend is always open to listen
always open to hear
my friend has always been there for me
my friend is always near
from as far as I can remember
in my childish years
my friend has always been clear
my friend has showed me which way to turn
many lessons from my friend I have learned.

my friend is one like no other
always honest & true
my friend will never lie
for my friend is none other than you.
the pen i hold in my hand
the paper sitting on my nightstand
the paints and paintbrushes
tell stories of who I am
they speak as no one can
the words in my poetry
are but an image
of my secret reality.

REST IN PEACE MUM ANN BROWN 18 AUG 2011

MUM ...

WHERE DO I START? I DON'T THINK THERE IS WORDS , TO EXPLAIN HOW I AM

FEELING ABOUT THE LOSS OF YOU... BUT I WILL USE ALL THE STRENGTH YOU HAVE

GIVEN TO ME , SO I CAN GET THESE FINAL WORDS OUT THE GUILT , SADNESS AND

REGRET FROM NOT SEEING YOU LIKE I WANTED TO SO ****ING MUCH ,

THEN THE PAIN OF NOT HAVING A CHANCE TO SAY "GOODBYE" TO THE MOST

BEAUTIFUL MOTHER COULD WANT, AND YES MUM I'M TALKING ABOUT YOUTO HOLD

YOUR HAND, TO SEE YOU SMILE , TO HEAR YOUR VOICE, WOULD MAKE MY LIFE MORE

WORTHWHILE. YOU TAUGHT ME HOW TO LIVE, BUT YOU NEVER TAUGHT ME HOW TO

LIVE WITHOUT YOU I MISS YOU SO SO MUCH MUM, BUT THE LOVE IN MY HEART FOR YOU , WILL MAKE SURE

YOUR LIFE , LOVE , WARMTH AND TOUCH , WILL LIVE ON FOREVER ,

IN ME I KNOW THAT YOU CHANGED ME , JUST FROM YOUR

PRESENCE...THATS'S HOW STRONG YOU WERE MUM I KNOW YOU HAVEN'T LEFT ME ,

FOR THE LOVE IN MY HEART REMAINS , YOU WILL NEVER HAVE TO SUFFER AND YOUR

BODY WILL FEEL NO PAIN...... GOD TOOK YOUR HAND , AND MADE US PART , HE CLOSED

YOUR EYES , AND BROKE MY HEART ....FOR ALL THE TIMES WE HAVE BEEN TOGETHER,

I WILL NEVER FORGET YOUR FACE.

THERE IS NO MOTHER ANYWHERE LIKE YOU,

NO ONE COULD TAKE YOUR PLACE.

IF ONLY I HAD KNOWN YOU WERE LEAVING,

I GUESS I EXPECTED YOU TO FOREVER LAST,

ALL OF THE DREAMS OF US IN THE FUTURE,

ARE NOW BUT MEMORIES OF THE PAST.

GOD TAPPED YOU ON THE SHOULDER,

HE WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO KNEW,

THAT YOU WERE GOING WITH HIM,

TO THE SKY SO BEAUTIFUL BLUE.

ALTHOUGH I MAY NEVER SEE YOU MUM,

ARJAY WILL BE BY YOUR SIDE,

HE'S GONNA HOLD YOUR HAND,

AND LEAD THE WAY,

FOR HE WILL BE YOUR GUIDE.....

I LOVE YOU MY MOTHER.....
DON'T TELL ME THAT YOU UNDERSTAND,
DON'T TELL ME THAT YOU KNOW,
DON'T TELL ME THAT I WILL SURVIVE,
HOW I WILL SURELY GROW.
DON'T TELL ME THIS IS JUST A TEST,
THAT I AM TRULY BLESSED,
THAT I AM CHOSEN FOR THIS TASK,
APART FROM ALL THE REST.
DON'T COME AT ME WITH ANSWERS THAT CAN ONLY COME FROM ME,
DON'T TELL ME HOW MY GRIEF WILL PASS,
THAT I WILL SOON BE FREE.
DON'T STAND IN PIOUS JUDGMENT OF THE BONDS I MUST UNTIE,
DON'T TELL ME HOW TO SUFFER,
DON'T TELL ME HOW TO CRY.
MY LIFE IS FILLED WITH SELFISHNESS,
MY PAIN IS ALL I SEE,
BUT I NEED YOU,
I NEED YOU YOUR LOVE UNCONDITONALLY.
ACCEPCT ME IN MY UPS AND DOWNS,
I NEED SOMEONE TO SHARE,
JUST TO HOLD MY HAND AND LET ME CRY,
AND SAY, MY FRIEND I REALLY DO CARE
Mom you mean the world to me
It’s hard to live without you ,You were always by my side
Through thick and thin you helped me

The Poetry of Yeats

His words calm me when I'm restless
bringing beauty to my world.
I get shivers, I must confess
when his passionate verse is unfurled.

I once threw a penny of brown
to see if love, I might find.
Like a princess with jewelled crown,
my dreams of starry nights shined.

Soft words of romance, he brings to life
with every stroke from his gifted pen.
Of sunlight, moon shadows, peace and strife,
I read his poems time and again.

His words bring smiles and move me to tears.
He inspires me to write of feelings, sincere.

Poetry for Poetry

You are the world which coping me
The chamber of my sanity
The big safety box of my true stories
Place where I could lean and dwell beyond the life series

I believed in God and His mercy was giving me some clue
On my fragility prayers, He led me on you
You are the best gift of my life which I cannot compare
The true recovery was earned by the silent of my share

Pieces by pieces  pilled up on your verses
Unorganized as if it was collided and barely in worthless
You keep your line as you want me to complete the puzzles
You give the blank page while I give you some variant tussles

You give me freedom on my bitter sweet
You let me spill out all the wastes of those filth
I owe you my half life, I owe you my sanity
Thank you for keeping my color and be the wisdom as a poetry

                               WINNER ACROSTIC

When I write the challenge is to shake your mind

If i succeed there is a satisfaction in my style

Never mind if flashy glory's left behind

Not a moments wasted if a phrase has found your smile

Eventually there's a tiny spark of me that you may find

Relentless words are bound to entangle and beguile

Street Soldier

My baseball cap is my helmet and my Nike's are my boots,
My country is my hood and my colors on my flag are niether red white or blue,
My weapon of choice is my two hands,
sometimes it can be whatever when I am threatened with a great fall from my stand,
I have no general or soldiers but I have family and above all I got heart.
My battlegrounds remain in my own home and sometimes even in the local Wal-Mart.
Every inch of my hood is up for friendly fire,
Violence remains apart of life around here searching for peace is far from desire,
Everyday remains but another day someone will die,
but more importantly is that another mother, brother, sister or father will cry.
But I am a street soldier so I am prepared for anothers or worse yet my own demise,
And as a street soldier I must keep the battle in check, no not with what I see with my two eyes, but what war is really going on inside the mind,
My battles dont come from without but from within......I am a street soldier fighting through time.....

Mary- a duo rhyme

Before her last sweet words were spilled
Upon the page, her voice was stilled.
She’s sitting now on Father Time
As once she jested in her rhyme.
From there she’ll make a further climb
While we learn from her paradigm.
She left us many lines sublime
In duo and in monorhyme.
Though we will miss her pen so skilled
God’s plans for her have been fulfilled.

Life Imitates Art A Humble Tribute to Oscar Wilde

O thou proud Nature
Rolling in ashes of long-burnt
Fiery love of yourself
What are you boasting of?

Thy greenery?
That’s nothing but
Wooden rotten figures
With wrinkled claws
Scratching the Earth’s breast
Fumbling for manure
Water-thirsty vampires
Destined to be strangled
By the icy hands of snowy demons!

Thy mountains?
They’re nothing but piles of dust
Proud of piercing the clouds
Forcing a heavy load
On the Earth’s shoulders
Yet, trodden by every foot
Crushed by every step
Dumb megalomaniacs
Whose sole voice
A mere echo
Dies in an instant
Not long enough to be heard!

Thy clouds?
Those plump, haughty phantoms
Wishing to display their mighty wrath
Pat each other on the shoulders
And roar to shake and shock
The creatures beneath
Yet melt in their rages’ climax
And weep for their untimely death!

Thy far stretching seas and oceans?
They’re nothing but tiny trivial
Drops of water
Gathering to form an impressive identity
By losing their own!
In the depth of their watery heart
Lay their so-called treasures
Which being nothing but shipwrecks
Make them pleased
With their great triumph
Over helpless, wooden toys!
Their anger is masterfully portrayed
By raising their eyebrows
Frowning and foaming desperately
To impress the captains
By their magnificent personality!!!

Thy Sun and Moon?
They are nothing but boring circles of light
One too lazy to move
One too transient in mood
One entangled in the boggy kingdom of his own flames
One begging hopelessly for a beam of light
One pleased with burning the eyes
One trained in fooling the wise

Now behold
That every single monument of thy greatness
That makes your eyes glow with pride
And your heart beat with pulses of joy
Is nothing but an illusory mirage

Were it not for the sweet words of poetry
Coupled with the melodious rhythm of embedded lyres
Were it not for the winged metaphors
Hand in hand with the marble fingers of imagination
Were it not for the poet’s discerning eye
To see in thee what thou hast not
Thou would not be seen,
Thou would not be loved…

Tribute to a Friend

A mystical woman that sought my style,
Historical poet of times gone by,
Dreaming all the while,

Different styles for our paths to socialize.
Compassionately known too many.
I do realize.

Cherished friend of my words I write.
Supportive to so many others and me,
Her style not trite,

Never to meet this soul in reality,
Only to know her through words,
All her ability,

Perhaps one day our force will intersect.
I look forward to our time.
With intellect,

Love of our friendship shows in words.
Friendly notions capture our hearts.
Poetic passionate swords,

If time allows no capture of any moment.
We shall know each other later.
In natures movement,

Her name is Carolyn Devonshire
Full of rhythm and flow,
Poet to admire,

Tribute to Carolyn Devonshire a dear friend
