Just a Girl

Just a girl in a room, sitting on the floor,
I can see her in this window, but I see no door
Crying her song of anguish, of this unspeakable pain,
Has every intention never to feel it again
I rock, I tremble, my life is at cost
All I know is this shell, for it's myself...my core...my all I have lost

From the start I new this fight could only last so long,
I aimed to defeat it, striving to remain strong
Each day in and day out, facing the demon, fighting the doubt
At a moment with no warning, without any clue
I was losing my strength...my energy...all the will I once knew

For now, my all is lost, my memories are faint,
There is no pretty picture left for me to paint
This girl on the floor, in this empty room
Was this girl condemned for a life of doom

My tears disappeared, like they'd never been there
Dried up with my soul, the time is clear
Wanting to shake her, make her open her eyes
To show some hope, the blue is still in the skies

Then, out of nowhere, I found the door
I wanted to save the girl on the floor
As I neared and inched to her close
She wasn't that girl, what I saw was a ghost

As I turned to walk out, stopped by a noise
I heard the laughter of girls and of boys
With that came a voice of peace and of grace
She told me, she's happy, no-more demon for her to face

I am calmed, I'm reassured, I'm no longer in pain
She was the broken me, but now I am strong again

Angels

On the wings of two angles I was brought into this world…
My mother and father I’ve called them since I first spoke,

To their arms I ran when I first walked…

When my heart was not calm

Their love would come…

When no one believed
They saw what others couldn’t see
When I would cry
With a calm sigh they would smile
And the whole world would stop and the pain would die…
They taught me to not lie…
They taught me to be human…
On the wings of two angels I was brought into this world…
My mother…her beauty puts the stars to shame….
My father…his heart stronger than all the men that walk among us…

I thank my lord for giving me
The biggest treasure on this world,
Love that is clearly out of this world…
Thank you…

Ode To My Son

Son, for sure that was a blissful day;
When bawling you were passed into our arms,
To be creators of this fragile babe,
To hold another being's captive charm,
As no scriptures will record these miracles,
So let me pen some worthy notes of praise,
So in my age I'll look again and smile,
Re-living moments of fantastic times:
That you were born to us in perfect form;
That you had too been blessed with sturdy health;
That you did in your youngest years stay calm;
And did not seek to grow too soon to man;
That you did keep that loving child in you;
Who still would seek the comfort of our arms;
That you did hold that honest bargain true;
We, supportive parents of respectful child;
You, toiling consciously for our desires;
That you did heed those lessons that we shared;
Born from a wisdom of advanced years;
That you found time to light up hearts with care;
Whom fate had made less fortunate than yourself.
So that, on graduation day you did move all,
Who felt the artistry in your recital,
As black caps rained and cheers flew high,
Our hearts were filled with overwhelming pride.

MY BEST LOVE SONG

I wrote for you my best love song
I sing it everyday.
The melody from your kisses
The words from your every smile

I wrote for you my best love song
To sing a never ending love
The rhythm from your laughter
The notes from each step you take

Each day I sing you in my mind
I play you on my heart
I hum you in my whispers
I strum you in my eyes

I wrote for you my best love long
As only a mother could write
To the child who gives her laughter
Son…my best love song is you

WHAT WE OWE GOD: An Eternal Debt of Praise

a couple had a good son whom they sent off to grad school
his goal to become a doctor as he was smart and nobody's fool
now on his own he decided to no longer attend Sunday service
he felt that God had no need for his personal worship

some people tend to feel that God doesn't require their praise
the question of a debt of gratitude in their minds has never been raised
but what people fail to realize or even comprehend
is that it was God who gave life to them
Creator of the universe and every living being
Creator of everything we're touching, hearing and seeing
Dr. Albert Einstein once made a very telling remark
that seeing how the human eye works is proof there's a God

when viewing this wonderful world and all the magnificence it beholds
one can clearly see the hand of God that has uniquely unfold
a sunrise, a sunset or a rainbow after a spring shower
a solar eclipse, a child being born are all proof of God's great power
He created man and it was He who gave us the breath of life
He gave us His love and grace and His son as a sacrifice

things have happened in our lives of which we're not even aware
times when God has shielded us from the evil that's out there
He's sent His mighty angels to watch over our backs
He's sent His heavenly warriors to stop any and all attacks
an eternal debt of gratitude and praise to God we owe
but we're not the only beings who are in the know
the angels in heaven praise His holy name
the devil in hell also bows down to Him in shame

created in His image His likeness we now bear
we're His beloved children for whom He tenderly cares
He makes Himself known to us every morning, noon and night
He is our source, our all in all, our strength and our light
an eternal debt of praise from us towards God is due
and as you read this poem I hope you get a clue

God doesn't need anything from us He's complete on His own
It's us who needs God as we can't do it alone
God is great, God is sovereign, He is the King of kings
He's all powerful, He's all mighty and controls everything
there is nothing in this universe that is not under His command
and no matter what we think He holds the whole world in His hands
and today that young man who thought that God didn't need his praise
is now a doctor and disciple of Christ whose hands are forever raised
an eternal debt of praise from us the Lord God is due
because if it wasn't for the Lord God there would be no me nor a you

HEROES DIE.

The wind is still.
The trees are sad.
The night is dark and solemn.
Our son has come home
in cold whispers and tale.

We saw him leave home to fight.
We sang a song for his homecoming.
We sat around burning logs
to tell his gruesome spear write
the history of our land.

But tonight is different!
It is the ominous voice of the Owl that we hear.
Our men whisper in small circles.
Our women hide behind thatched doors.

Our son is come home a hero
borne on the shoulders,
our his surviving mates.

My Darling Angel

For my darling Angel
May you grow to be strong
And pure of heart
May you dream incredible dreams
Believe in anything you wish
And wish for what you believe
May you experience magic
And reach for the stars
Be kind and cherish your possessions
Take your time to do things right
Never forget who will always
Love you for you
You will always be mine
My pride, my joy
The apple of my soul
My heart, my world
My darling Angel

An Ode to the Intact Male

In honor of mothers who keep their sons pure,
And of uncut men, I thee reassure
You are perfect and wholesome just as you are.
Born in God’s image, you’re already a star.
Your foreskin’s a blessing, so think and be wise,
And give thanks to all parents who don’t circumcise.
God made you complete in the womb, yes God did.
God loves you like that and therefore doth bid
That you stay as you are, in your natural state,
So that when, at last, you meet your soul mate,
You’ll unite, both of you, a half and a half,
To make passionate love, a love that will last,
Without a thing lacking, you will be truly whole,
With eternal fulfillment in your heart and soul.
Your God-given potential for heavenly pleasure
To share with your true love is something to treasure.
So take not for granted that flap of loose skin,
So seemingly useless, toilsome, and thin,
Your manhood deserves the wrapping its in,
For to butcher a creation of God is a sin,
And a gift to all humans who preside on this earth,
It is time now to cherish what you’ve had since your birth.

The 6th Child

Woman, she is
A mother of five

Man, he is
A father of five

In a life
Of ups and
Downs
They share-

The four walls
Of loneliness
The woven rug
Of love

And in the throbbing shadows,
Of fear and joy, they are waiting
Eagerly, for me, to come out
