ODE TO MY OFFSPRINGS

Thank you for the happiness you bring to me,

A restless life, a sleepless days and never ending chores.

Thank you for the mess you make in our home.

The evidence you showed I'm not alone.

I feel my worth every time I see you smile.

You make things possible in front of my eyes.

I learned the meaning of patience and love.

You gave my life a reason to survive.

I was young, life has just started.

When I first held a hands of an angel.

The utmost emotion that anyone could feel,

A boundless bliss I treasure 'til these eyes rest in peace.

Ode To Mother

I've seen a face with a thousand flowers
With eyes as pure as the dew
A happy face in my relaxing hours
With a heart thats pure and true.

The loveliest thing is to be loved by you
For you're the greatest love of all
You're the moonlit sea on the starry blue
That stirs me on to stand tall.

In you I've found that precious friend
Rare a pearl in this darksome world
Comfort sweet when stuck in the den
From a loving heart as pure as gold.

So thanks my love, for being you
That sacred royal blossom
Words can never express,my love so true
My friend,my dearest mom.

TO MY DEAREST MAMA

Thank you for being the greatest mom to us.
For all the patience and love that you gave.
All those sleepless nights when we were kids.
For sending me to school, until putting a medal on my neck.
I hope I gave you pride to all those years.
I know, Mama though you're not speaking.
I can see the weakness from those eyes.
Please forgive me when I made you cry.
I've been a foolish, I made mistake.
I failed to finish my studies and reach my dreams.
Eventhough I fall, you still lend me your hand.
Helping me to stand and save me from the ground.
I remember one day,when I became a mom.
You were there beside me, and hear my baby's cry.
I saw the tears from your eyes, saying these words to me.
"My daughter, you have paid all the things you owe from me."
Now that we're both moms, you never left me.
You were there on my trouble, reminding me to be strong.
The one whom I caved in, a wings cover me in storm.
Mama, how can I repay you for all the good things that you've done?
I promise to take care of you now 'til the twilight of your time.
And be a mother to my children the same thing as you did.
Thank you, Mama...I'll stand strong for you and my kids.

For my mother's birthday

Dear Lord thank You for a mother
who stayed through it all with us,
who has shown us the way to church,
because in You today I trust.
Thank You for every hardship she faced
for she has taught us sacrifice
now I can give my all to You,
nothing else would have sufficed.
Thank You Lord for all her toil
because she represents great strength
for even in adversity
she persevered through great a length.

If anyone be candidate
let it be her You honour Lord
for You know all about her struggle
and surely You are her reward.
I praise You greatly for Her life
my life without her could not be,
show her Your favour without measure
for everything she's meant to me.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Angels

On the wings of two angles I was brought into this world…
My mother and father I’ve called them since I first spoke,

To their arms I ran when I first walked…

When my heart was not calm

Their love would come…

When no one believed
They saw what others couldn’t see
When I would cry
With a calm sigh they would smile
And the whole world would stop and the pain would die…
They taught me to not lie…
They taught me to be human…
On the wings of two angels I was brought into this world…
My mother…her beauty puts the stars to shame….
My father…his heart stronger than all the men that walk among us…

I thank my lord for giving me
The biggest treasure on this world,
Love that is clearly out of this world…
Thank you…

Family and Friends

Family, the enemy of our souls wants us to believe
The lie that we are alone
He wants us to believe
That we are treading hopeless road

But the cloud witnesses who urge us on
Tell us another story
The road we tread with light and beauty and fellowship
My friends, we are never alone

A Letter for Gram

Buried in an imprisoning casket
but never forgotten through
the past fifteen years.
I love you now more than ever
and your strength has embraced
my sorrow and guilt!

I love you so much, Gram
and you are greatly missed!
You are my support that
gets me up a large flight
of stairs and a calmness when
I feel overcrowded and overwhelmed
by life's challenges, pitfalls,
destruction, pain, and insecure discontent!

I truly owe my soul to you!
Thank you so very much
for all you have been and
will be in my life.

You are the lighthouse that flickers its
illuminating light to guide me home,
even though I am a million miles
away from reality.

Love Always, Julie

My Mom, My Rock

You have always been my rock
when all else has seemed to fail!

I thank you from the utmost depth
of my being for being a supportive,
listening ear when I didn't deserve
it, realism in the face of fickleness,
truth when it seemed as if there
was none to be found, and
Above all-----

The strength I needed to recognize
there are unresolved issues and
problems within my own life.

I love you with all of my heart
and appreciate your daily,
selfless sacrifices.

I owe you my life and promise
I will do better and be all
I can be within reason!

Love Always, Julie

Mother Ocean

Froth and foam, time and tide...
Ah, the motion of the ocean.
‘Tis the source of my heart's longing,
The place of my soul's belonging,
With it's push and pull...
Ebb and flow.

As time and space go rambling on...
At your shores, the same time and space
Stand halted...
Your maker and mine exalted...
By your push and pull...
Ebb and flow.

At times I find myself longing,
To become one with you,
And your knowing of life's beginnings,
Both old and new...
And the days and years of all your learnings.

To find myself wrapped up,
In your fathomless embrace,
In all the ways you have kissed me,
With the currents of your passion…
Your endless days, the mystical fashion,
Of your push and pull...
Ebb and flow.

Yet how shall I fathom,
Your unending endlessness?
And how shall I counter,
Your impartial fury?
Most certain am I that it will bury,
And erase,
All that is and leave no trace,
Of that which is and was to come.

For man who is blind, sees only your wealth,
And not wholly that,
But that which he deems
As wealth.

Till you, left naked and raped, rise...
To reprove us, to open our eyes.

Only then do we see,
T'was meant to be,
That you, and I and we,
Are made as one.

And as to you, unto us is done.

Thus to us is done for sure,
Till blindly stumbling we find this cure:

That those who shall possess you,
Shall do in setting you free.

And to them is your grace,
To them is your passion,
The depths of your soul and the endless fashion,
Of your timeless, enduring mystery.

Ode to earthquake -w

(My ode to Earthquake is an irregular ode. The ode is written in
memory of an earthquake that took place in Gujarat State (Kutch Region)
of India in the year 2000 on the Republic Day of India on 26th January.)

I

What a day you chose, Grandma Mine!
To quake, to move, to shiver, to shake
Thereby to ravage, to savage, to shatter,
The celebrations of Mother India Republic Day.
A female snake eating her own children!
What bad karma those school children had done?
What configurations of the planets took place
In the natal charts of those thousand killed?

II

Million years ago you jolted and rocked,
Opening up the Atlantic & creating Indian Ocean,
Delinking India from Africa and Sri Lanka.
Those oceans are widening & the Pacific shrinking.
Will North America & Asia drift into each other?
The twelve plates* mate and hate each other,
Caribbean to Cocos & Indian to Eurasian.
Your wanton ways to be taken as blessing in disguise?
Your natural acts as great levelers? Or
HE made the world to fit best to create & destroy.

III

On the scene I met a man, a mattress maker by trade
Living with parents and two toddlers.
With debris under the rickety shelter,
The toddlers lay motionless covered with flies.
The third did not see the light of the day,
Journey made from mother’s womb
To that of the earth,
Amalgamating from dust to dust,
As his wife eight months pregnant
Died when the house collapsed.

Standing now on the roadside,
People throwing food at him from trucks,
The mattress maker without a mattress!
Brooding over the rigmaroles of the politicians,
Remembering armed gangs with choppers,
Cutting the fingers of the dead for a gold ring.

Feeling the tremors and shocks of the quake,
Cries, cracks, quacks fresh in his mind still.

Lost Without A Mother

Here is my journey of Life,
That all began
With that first cry.
My eyes shone in admiration,
When my mother's loving,
'I-will-care-for-you' eyes I saw.
Her tender touch
That caress my super soft skin,
Giving me hope
That earth might just be like
That paradise I'm coming from...

Now here I stand,
At the junction
Of Life and death,
Failure and success,
Sorrow and joy;
The right leads to success
And the left leads to life,
The back is darkened
And the eagles are flying
Right above the chick.

Where am I to go?
As all paths
Are garden of thorns.
Where is that hand,
With the magic wand,
That gave me hope
Of heaven on earth?
If she could just whisper to my ears and say,
This is the way to go...

AN ODE TO HER

AN ODE TO HER
Honour whom shall we raise high
With her i always stand and sigh
Your love is what i see at home
To whom shall you be made known?

Cleopatra-can she ever stands your tide?
The mediator o! She stood the time
She is a way easy and safe to Christ grace
And intercessor of the worn out age

She is of heaven alma-mater
Tabernacle of our lord and master
O! Virgin our gracious mother
Full of grace humble and greater

Dream Walking

In the small town of Campbell Missouri,
A young girl with lovely brown locks
Sits, having been told she might never walk again
As all aknowledge this belief in town,
A fear swept around,
And many children were kept down

But in the spirit of this child,
Desire to walk snuck over her fears
Perhaps she wished to surprise-
Perhaps she could not stand
The judgmental eyes-but all the same,
She picked herself up, smiled,
And sauntered around the room

Happiness pervaded the house
As the family friend, delighted,
Sang merrily the song,
“Have You Ever Seen a Dream Walking?”

Today, at California Mission Inn,
The same girl, now a woman
Walks her glorious walk
With confidence and grace
She is 91 years old and strong
As song,
Her eyes lighting up as she recalls
She hums the dreamy tune
As I jot down miracles

Grandma Hearts Grandma

I never met Grandpa
so I do not know
if he ever went dancing
or stubbed his toe.
But I do know
one thing-
Grandma loved him.

And Grandma died
when was in 8th grade.
So we didn't talk
I am afraid.
But I do know
one thing-
Grandpa loved her.

Happy Mother's Day

A life of love, a life of happiness,
A life without tears, a life without distress,
Given by the one whose love for me doesn't falter,
The one I dearly love, the one I call my mother,
She has been there for me when no one would,
She has been there for me when my father should,
But she stood by me through thick and thin,
That's why I love her deep down within,
She provides my wants and what I need,
So I will make her proud an surely succeed,
What I'm doing to show my love is very poor,
And honestly I know she deserves so much more,
She had me so young when she didn't had to,
She put down her life and to me she didn't turn her back to,
I love her with all my soul and all my heart,
I will love her to the finish and 17 years ago it had start,
I've lived with her all my life,
From she was single and now she's a wife,
But I know her love for me is far different,
Providing my needs even when she has to pay the rent,
I'm sorry if I hurt you or made you cry,
But I promise to make happy tears flow from your eye,
If you were to go I don't know what I would do,
So I'm telling you deep from my heart that I Love You......

You Don't Know

You don't know about the ish that i been through
You don't know why its like this with me and you
you only see the ish you wanna see
But you dont know the half of whats in me
I'm much more than what meets ya eye
I lay awake some nights tryin not to cry
Wishin we were close like you and your second child
Maybe i should have rebelled and been a lil wild
Perhaps i should a pissed you off every chance i got
Make you angry, get you pissed off and pippin hot
Cause it did wonders fa y'all relationship
I always felt i got left over ish
You told me i was a surprise
Rarely could i ever read love in your eyes
And when i did i knew it wasn't there to stay
Feelings for me change from day to day
Bet you didn't know i tried to take my own life
Bet you didn't know i was once gone be a womans wife
And i know you dont know about the time i was raped
Or about the time i was forced to make a video tape
You couldn't know your baby girl should be a mother
Didn't know i was till i saw blood on the covers
And there is still a list of ish you could never see
Cause i keep all of this ish down deep inside of me
No it's not all your fault we're not like mom an daughter
When i saw how things worked i could have tried harder
But yet and still this is the woman you raised
Taught to live on my terms , do things my way
I really cant help how i am you see
The best i can do is simply be me
But you dont know the ish that i been through
Only concerned about whats up with you
But if you took the time to look under, not just above
Look deep inside, my heart is full of love
And if you used more than just your eyes to see
Maybe you could see the wonder known as Kimberly

Christmas House

Mommy! Mommy! See the Christmas tree
Shining brightly for the neighborhood to see?
And the logs on the fire are so sparkly.
They make me feel warm and fuzzy.
Did you know tonight is Christmas Eve?

Mommy! Mommy! Watch how the lights
Blink and glitter. They shine so bright.
Used to be I was ‘fraid of the night
But it’s too pretty to feel any fright.
Mommy, what will you open at midnight?

Mommy! Mommy! Listen. They’re singing
And there’s snowmen. And angels. And bells ringing!
I wonder if anyone will come bringing
Any music for us? Any ding-dong-dinging,
And make us happy…our skin tingling?

Mommy! Mommy! What did you say?
Oh, me? What do I want this holiday?
That’s easy. I wan’na laugh, sing and play
With you -n- Sissy. Now, can we pray
That God will send us Daddy on Christmas Day?

Ode to a Virgo Mom on the Occasion of Her Birthday

Grace under pressure
Unflappable class
Overtones of elegance
Strength of brass.

Tending splendid gardens
Where laughter and fun
Sprout as if native
In the warmth of her sun.

Incensed by thoughtless actions
Yet steady in her mood
Mixing sweet persuasion
With wisdom for food.

A Virgo mom’s a blessing
For one raised in her nest
So just today this Taurus says
That Virgo is the best!

Ode to Anine

The angels smiled the day you were born ,
To your mother Janne and your father Shawn.
Everyone's dreams came true
And that Anine was because of you.

On the 23rd. of October you entered the world,
A momentous ocassion more priceless than gold.
Your ruby red cheeks , that cute little mouth,
That is really what life is about.

Those almond shaped eyes that cute button nose,
A combination of both parents I suppose.
You're truly a treasure and mummy's pearl
You're also daddy's adorable baby girl.
Big brother Henrik will protect you from harm
When he holds you tenderly in his arms.

Two loving hearts coming together
You really are birds of a feather.
You are the proof that true love reigns supreme,
By the timely arrival of this tiny human being.

My only friend.

My only friend.
All I have is my Music.
I seek shelter in the comfort of "Her" arms.
I find a delightful warmth in the smile only she can bring to my life
even when my mood is upmost defiant.

She is my mother and I a small child.
Eager , to hear her speak , as only she can
soothing my soul on a fidget morning.
She puts me to sleep in the evening ,
She is inside of me
Dwelling in the depths of my soul
eager , at times she longs to burst from the depths of my heart
She pleases me, and teases me.
Nurses me back to health in my times of weakness.

I am a child of Music, and I am meant to share "Her"
with the world.
She is the Pilate to my soul
I must spread my winds, and fly.

My Guardian Angels

Part I
Oh Mother,
Do not walk away,
I would do anything to make you stay,

I promise I will do my bed,
I promise I will never lie,
Mother, not a tear I will make you shed,
I promise I will never let you cry,

You are all that I live for,
I will give you all you need and more,
Heaven is under your feet,
Your image is so sweet,

We may fuss and fight, but when you smile,
It makes the struggle worthwhile,
Mother, you are a soul made of perfection,
I am living due to your protection,
My entity is a reflection,
Of you, I want you to be proud of me, for I fear your rejection,

You are my earth,
You loved me for fourteen years, and nine months before birth,
I grew up in you,
I lived life with you,

Your heart shines down on me like the sun,
You cannot be compared to anyone,
You are a seraph,
I feel emotionally painful when I look at your photograph,

Oh Mother,
Do not walk away,
I would do anything to make you stay...

Part II
Oh Father
Do not walk away,
I would do anything to make you stay,

Your wise words dwell in my young soul,
Your presence makes me whole,
You make me laugh with all the clowning that you do,
I miss you more and more everyday, you haven't got a clue,

An eternal life of bliss with you I am living in now,
I always come crawling back to you somehow,
You are always saving me from myself; you catch me when I fall,
Father, you are the only one who really knew me at all,

I can vividly remember,
One chilly night in December,
You held me close, and I felt your pure heart beat,
That icy bitterness within me you did defeat,

One day you shall open your beautiful big brown eyes,
And find that I have raised your name to the seventh sky,
I promise you Father, I will forever be your ally,
And make you so proud, you will want to cry,

Oh Father
Do not walk away,
I would do anything to make you stay…

COMMUNION WITH MY DEAD MOTHER

Her cremated ashes still remain sealed in the same nondescript box
white, powdery and chalk like material
devoid of any vestigial semblance to her once living and vibrant self
that unique persona pulverized and vaporized
(housed former svelte and tall Arthur Murray ball-room dance teacher
a half century plus prior to demise
which beauty, charm and grace quickly caught the attention of my father
who courted and eventually proposed to this young flirt and tease of a gal)
inert organic matter now represents sole residual embodiment
reduced to dust and near nothingness
former corporeal being of blood, bone and flesh
weighing no more than a few hatch marks on the scale
absence still bears down heavy like some millstone round the neck
per the black hole void created by defeat with Grim Reaper
toward this woman who helped birth and nurse me into manhood
momma’s only grown son still feels ripples of grievous sadness
no matter the years of suppressed anger and rage
in addition to emotional conflicts between us
which invariably wrought unpleasant relationship
and a legacy of discord writ large across the tapestry of my life!
Force fields from this lithe Brooklyn native
(whose pronunciation a dead ringer giveaway to any amateur and junior linguist)
lives in the guise of aural spectra
especially within the hallowed sanctity of Glen Elm domicile
and continues to emit indomitable and unfading rays of pure energy and light!

Strength Of A Mother

Thou are our pillar
Where from we draw
Strength.Thy hand was
strong once upon a time

But thy love was shadowed
Behind thy hand.For thy hand
Moulded us to what we are
Today.Thy love now radiates

Brightly covering all of us
Like sunshine.Compliments
Bestowed on us are a reflation
Of thy hand .Thanks for such
Strength and love.

An Ode to the Intact Male

In honor of mothers who keep their sons pure,
And of uncut men, I thee reassure
You are perfect and wholesome just as you are.
Born in God’s image, you’re already a star.
Your foreskin’s a blessing, so think and be wise,
And give thanks to all parents who don’t circumcise.
God made you complete in the womb, yes God did.
God loves you like that and therefore doth bid
That you stay as you are, in your natural state,
So that when, at last, you meet your soul mate,
You’ll unite, both of you, a half and a half,
To make passionate love, a love that will last,
Without a thing lacking, you will be truly whole,
With eternal fulfillment in your heart and soul.
Your God-given potential for heavenly pleasure
To share with your true love is something to treasure.
So take not for granted that flap of loose skin,
So seemingly useless, toilsome, and thin,
Your manhood deserves the wrapping its in,
For to butcher a creation of God is a sin,
And a gift to all humans who preside on this earth,
It is time now to cherish what you’ve had since your birth.

Ode to my Mom

To the giver of my life,
	The bearer of this child,
My protector from strife,
	My guide from going wild.
To the nurse of my aches,
	The suave of my pains,
The baker of my cakes,
	My umbrella from the rains.
To the teacher of my youth,
	The mentor of my mind,
The one who’d soothe my tooth,
	Always fair and kind:

This is my tribute to you,
	An ode to my mom.

Thanks for giving me the strength
	To righten when down.
Thanks for going to any length
To get rid of my frown.
Thanks for the times we’d just talk
	And you’d be my friend.
Thanks for teaching me to walk,
And to stand up, in the end.
Thanks for giving me your love
And taking the time to care.
And when you’re gone to heaven above,
I’ll always look up and see you there.

This is my tribute to you,
	I love you, Mom.

BAIANO

In the lovely Campanian countryside, amid
verdant hills and mountains...where Virgil
stopped to rest, while jeourneying to visit Cybele's temple,
lie a fertile valley where chestnut and walnut trees
abound...there is hidden the bustling town of my birth!
Narrow streets overlooked by bell towers,
and whenever the sturdy bronze bells ring
in the fragrant air of early spring:
young and old from windows and balconies,
in the twelfth hour, engage
in the sweet thanksgiving prayer...
while the tricolor flags sway in the warmest breeze!

The town's friendly people will welcome you with song,
untill you feel wonderful and touched by all;
this town has seen invasion, pestilences and a dire year...
an almost fatal hurricane that prevented a fierce battle
from being fought during World War II;
was Divine Intervention a factor to be acknowledged?
It spared this town being bombarded by air,
and it saved my mother's life to tell this truth!

God blessed this unknown place,
and sent Mary with the infant Jesus,
four days after He was born,
on a long jeourney through that valley
filled with peace and beauty:
to find a revered and holy mountain...
much closer to Heaven!
And She shed many tears
to give all the dull flowers
a brilliance of their own!

Deep in the hills there was a very special place I choose,
where I would rever the magnificence of the valley...
revealing a superb panorama with the Vesuvius in sight,
was there another creation as magnificent as that ?
And that owesome view perked up my inspiration inside,
teaching my tiny fingers to write with a human heart!
O Baiano, don't strip this name from your walls and stones:
I am a forgotten native who will return before he'll die!

The 6th Child

Woman, she is
A mother of five

Man, he is
A father of five

In a life
Of ups and
Downs
They share-

The four walls
Of loneliness
The woven rug
Of love

And in the throbbing shadows,
Of fear and joy, they are waiting
Eagerly, for me, to come out

A Painted Prose

Robin,
like last leaf
of autumn,

clings
to a velvet
rose. Ah,

such a lovely
scene, from painted
prose of God,

the Unseen-
of which thru his artwork
reminded me of

a child
holding sweet mama,
‘til he was being

breezed away
into manhood, by the thrilling
wings of her olden days.

TRUE MOTHERS

Have you ever taught that mothers
love their children in the same way?
Have ever you ever understood
that the eyes of true mothers
share in their great joy
and most times cry...
when they make them really proud
of their first victory?

True mothers give more than
their immortal affection...
they open up their big hearts
to those needing strenght:
to help them in that long journey
away from their sight,not their thoughts;
and when they return,
they'll be waiting anxiously!

And if you wonder why you never
see them cry...it's because they withhold
their tears beyond her undetectable fears;
true mothers monitor your steps like God...
'till they're completely sure
you won't bedazzled by failure!

True mothers can't help imagining
what tomorrow will bring to their seed;
and knowing that their mission in life is sacred,
they'll keep that love flowing...to keep us on living!
