one race

The firmament above, beneath we exist,
This diversity in divine artistry
Same eyes divers sizes
Different skin same sin
Different color same honor
Same human same humor
Why try to sort out maize from corn? They are all same
Cus just one shot, your race wont spare you

For Ben

Hey there, brother
this one is for you
for all the times you’ve blamed me
for the things I didn’t do
hey there, brother
this one is for you

hey there, brother
it’s been awhile
I’d give you a great big hug
but we both know that’s not your style
hey there, brother
it’s been awhile

hey there, brother
how have you been
you haven’t invited me to hang with you lately
just give me a call and tell me when
hey there, brother
how have you been

hey there, brother
you’re the best I’ll ever know
you’ve showed me unconditional love
and you’ve taught me how to grow
hey there, brother
you’re the best I’ll ever know

hey there, brother
this one is for you
I love watching you move through life
and can’t wait to see all the things you’ll do
hey there, brother
this one is for you

First Love

First Love

Her eyes showed me a way,
Her unique smile let my tears go away,
Her Beautiful face made me to say,
Is this Love, or what???

Started to have feeling of love,
Started to behave nicely and different,
Started to smile when there was no reason to smile,
Still, Is this Love, or what??

Tried to approach her, but felt belittled, lowly, shy,
Tried to ask her for date, but felt afraid, scared, shocked,
Tried to express my love, felt would be rejected, hurt, unheard,
Well still, Is this love, or what?

I can fix anything, why not this thing,
I can talk to any girl, why not this girl,
I can really convince anyone, why not this one,
Came before many girl, why not this girl.

Do please not tell me its just nothing,
Do tell me how to do something about this thing...Love,
Do tell me anything about this thing…Love,
Will there be rejection or appreciation??????????

Ode to my son on his 28th birthday

When I looked up at you the other night
I saw you coming through the door
Framing it with your amazing smile
steadfast, self assured, a happy man
A happy Dutch life with Irish sea-kissed roots
Not just a European but a world class man
As you stood before me, I felt such pride.

When I think of you, I see my little boy blue
Forever young, blond mop, those winsome sky eyes
my spry child, intelligent, forever questioning
hyperactive, mischievous, a little dare devil
your smile, a mile wide in times of trouble
I see you holding your teddies Ruby and Rupert
Tractors, diggers, broken engines brrrrrrrmm.

Your love of engines, paid off after all
as you shifted gear to driving instruction
For a guy who showed no interest in being a scholar
Now you are the teacher, with a flurry of pupils
I think it works better, this way around.
Your greatest gift is your love for people
Your greatest asset, your winning smile

Keep on living and loving as you do
You view life through a positive lens
Becoming a mother hit me with a new perspective
An appreciation of life, when I gave you yours
Together we grew, and continue to grow
In love and respect, now and forever.

Ode to Mi Corazon

As I pull weeds from cracks in sidewalks
Yout sit on top of thrones made of solid gold
And I pay no mind to the women around me,
Only to your beauty do I hold an Ode.

I see my fair Spanish lady
my daring, sweet rose with thorns,
That run up and down her spine.
As she stops in the daily parade
Waving at the peasants,
She looks at me and summons her guards
Too take me away.

Her beauty is unbearable.
I cannot take not being with her
For a single moment in my life.
Her hair,
Black like coal,
Her smile is bright, as the first rays of the Red Sun
In the dawn.
Her lips painted with ruby lipstick,
her silk laced dress and shawl wrap around her,
Like a beautiful butterfly in her cocoon.
Her skin of olive, dark color and her green eyes.
My God, those sweet and piercing green eyes
Oh, how they hit my soul and make me shiver with excitment.
She is intoxicating and I am intoxicated in her beauty.

She is like an angel, a Latina beauty who walks the streets paved gold,
As I walk the cracked, cobblestone walkways.
She shines in the Spanish sun, like a dimoand in the ruff
As you blow the dust off her sweet brow,
she glows and sparkles with extordinary excellence.

She is beautiful and sweet and kind.
She loves me, but her father minds.
I am only a peasant, and she royalty.
Can our love ever be together in one holy matrimony?
I pray to the Lord, of all that is good,
Please give me a sign that she loves me.

Soon a storm came over,
blowing me down to the ground
And a cloud of dust swallowed me whole.
A great Conquistador on a great white stallion
pulled me up and told me that she wanted to see me.
I shacked with nervous of joy as I followed the warrior.

She was there, under a palm tree
Near a beautiful beach in Barcelona.
She smiled and a glow covered me with passion.
I hugged her and kissed her upon her sweet lips.
I tasted virginity and she tasted loyalty.
We both tasted beauty and harmony.
As the warrior left us,
We made love upon a vigin white sheet,
Soon covered with a flowing river of red.
She moaned with exticy and love was in the air.
The Ode to my sweet Spaniad, Mi Corazon!

We lay there in each others arms
Looking up at a clear night sky
The twilight glimmered ever so softly
And a shooting star blazed across the sky
I kissed her and she kissed me.
I whispered in her, "My love forever"
And she pushed me back upon the sheets
and we made sweet and ever lasting love again.
As we looked in each other's almond colored eyes.
I said to her, in a soft voice, Mi Corazon.

Ode To Fireworks

It is such great unity
That appears amongst the beauty
Of the bright light display?
Such colour, such energy within celebration,
Such a vivid canvas of man-made creation
That sparks with flair and passion;
To fall into the fog
Like all dying illusions.

Yet it is what it does for us:
Where we are drawn from our furnishings
That we clean in intervals,
Closing outside to a regular schedule,
Remaining well lit and sheltered
Resting our minds so dimly upon the
Soft and empty cushions
And hugging at the blind comfort
Of cover.

We are drawn from this facade
By another in itself.
Which brings us out like a beacon
Part Devil, half Eden
To then fade away
Like all illusions,
Leaving us quiet,
Revealing deepened images.
Exposed to chill
Peace climbs through our bones.

Let us stand together,
Embrace
The great power that connects us;
The great unity
Amongst such beauty.

Till we once more return home…

An ode to my best friend

Her name is Cami
She is always there
I don’t see her much
I wish to see her more.
She is my best friend
I have know her for 11 years
I am 13 now
She is 12
I will never forget her
She will never forget me

I see her once a week now
We go to youth group together
We used to see each other
Once every two or three months.
I am happy my wish came true
I see her so much more than before
I am happy I get to see her tons now
She is my best friend.
I wish I was more like her
More free willed and fun

More excited and relaxing
Just like her.
I want to be her twin.
I know she will never leave
My side when I need her
And she know when she needs
Me I will be there
She knows that when one of us
Needs the other that we need to
Be there

Daydream Love

You are simply a work of art.
I’ve known it from the very start,
But you won’t find me hittin’ on ya.

For I’m just an old guy
With a twinkle in his eye;
Happy just to gaze upon ya.

My old heart quickens it pace
Each time I see your pretty face,
A face that every man should see.

Sometimes, just for a while,
Each time I see you smile,
I imagine it's just for me.

And, when I hear your voice,
For just a moment, I rejoice.
Yes, it’s music to these old ears.

But more than a work of art,
You’re warm and funny and smart.
Simply a beautiful person, my dear.

Though with you I’m quite smitten,
My words are respectfully written;
And every word is true.

But, if I weren’t so old,
If I were better looking and a little bold,
I would simply say, “I love you.”

Dream Walking

In the small town of Campbell Missouri,
A young girl with lovely brown locks
Sits, having been told she might never walk again
As all aknowledge this belief in town,
A fear swept around,
And many children were kept down

But in the spirit of this child,
Desire to walk snuck over her fears
Perhaps she wished to surprise-
Perhaps she could not stand
The judgmental eyes-but all the same,
She picked herself up, smiled,
And sauntered around the room

Happiness pervaded the house
As the family friend, delighted,
Sang merrily the song,
“Have You Ever Seen a Dream Walking?”

Today, at California Mission Inn,
The same girl, now a woman
Walks her glorious walk
With confidence and grace
She is 91 years old and strong
As song,
Her eyes lighting up as she recalls
She hums the dreamy tune
As I jot down miracles

Happy Birthday To Me

Just 3 days before the earth completes its evolution calendar numerals with maximum numbers one of which is the peak found in all 12 cycles and the other, the highest of all months It’s a day when birth among all things becomes the protocol officer to nature and a new life full of promise and expectations results from the shading of history’s skin A day when the sun chills with the living matters of the hills before going to bed when the clouds hold hands in same rhythm marveling to an added blessing the earth just received when the tides of the waters rise up high in complete salute to this majestic new entry He is a pace setter, a trail blazer and a king he breaths out the commanding charisma of a leader housing a thousand qualities of a champion and wearing a million features of a god From three hundred and sixty five rotations one becomes slower and closer to the sun and its natural satellite rigid in awe all because the legend has arrived happy birthday to me.

Wanted

WANTED...
Someone to hold me
Somebody to share their life with me...
Cry with me, laugh with me, love me and cherish me...
I want to soul-mate to share life's journey with me...
Through the good times and bad...
So make him strong as an Ox & smart as a Fox...
That the man for me...

Fun-Frosted Memories

Dee’s father bought a fancy, family sled
to her amusement and joy
He shocked the town pulling this sled around
With his good, shiny Model T Ford

Memories run through Dee’s mind
At the family hardware store,
she would climb the latter up to the loft
and sit inside the sled stored there,
reflecting on cool-warmed times-
a father’s smile…a heart sublime

An Ode to LIFE Part 1

An Ode To LIFE

As I lay my head down and start to fall asleep I see myself being carried off to a place and time the place of our Lords birth in Bethlehem of Judea

As in the Bible tells the story of His life and how he lived and died in that human seance and rose on the day He told of

I do not remember being here but I remember the story I was taught so many years ago

As I walk through the streets of Bethlehem I see each scene and hear every word as I am learning the story they telling is true

The writer writes of a jealous King and his way of dealing with his people and of Mary and Joseph who came to Bethlehem to have a child

The story tells of the three wise men who saw a star in the north and heard of a child who was born to be the King of the Jews and come to see and bring Him gifts

An angel from the Heavens above came to Mary and Joseph in a dream and told them they had to leave Bethlehem or King Herod would have their son killed

So they left Bethlehem and went to Egypt and there they lived until King Herod no longer ruled

As I follow along in my dream I see each scene and hear every word as I am puzzled by the fact I understand each

I don’t understand why I’m going through this time but I know I must continue on this journey

As I am pulling through a time where I reach the place of Jesus’ in Nazareth of Galilee

As I watched Him grow and work in His father's shop I could see the thing in Him that were with me

As I walk along the streets and look around I hear the people talk of a child that speaks of wondrous love that’s all forgiving and of a Father in Heaven that’s loving and true.

Gone Forever

1.
From a happy childhood, safe and loved,
I’ve come a long, long way.
But I recall those toothsome times
with sunshine all the day.
The woes and troubles of the world,
were kept from my young ears.
Ogres were only in story books
and were no cause for fears.

2.
Young children snatched from out our yards
and spirited away.
The freedom that I had in youth
cannot be theirs today.
This lovely world God gave us has
been almost destroyed by war.
It truly seems a grievous sin
to be happy anymore.
When there is hunger everywhere
and illness, sadness, tears,
even a beloved home is not
a refuge from our fears.

3.
It’s been ten years September Eleven,
since complete madness began.
Our safe world is gone forever
caused by savagery of man.

Ode to the Average Man

I will sing the song of the average man
Who was born a child-not a babe
Who grew up in an ordinary house?
Made of bricks without ivy cascades
He went to an ordinary school like the rest
Hated math, hated science, loved lunch
Gave a report on Abe Lincoln-read Goodnight Moon,
Played averagely in all peewee games
He grew up-got older-little wiser it seemed
Not too much just average-got C’s
Didn’t date, least not much-but found the One
And married her in an average church
He worked his job-did quite well
But not enough to gain many accolades
Bought a house, had three kids
Not prodigies just average-one, two, and three
They grew up-he grew up-they lived happily
Went to soccer, went to karate-watched ballet with number three
Played catch-went to parades, cleaned spilt lemonade
Loved his wife-laughed with his kids
All were happy living averagely
Watched them get older-marry average true loves
No Romeo dear Juliet romances
But they were happy and so was he
And he was given several average grandbabies
He and the Missus went on with their days
Till she died of an average disease
And he followed to in a moderate way
And they rest side by side in an average grave
He was no genius-never swam the English Channel
Didn’t raise three life saving doctors
But he was happier then the few outstanding I’ve seen
Because he was content with an average.

My Dear Friend

My Dear Friend,
If, even just for one day I could take all your pain and worry away I would. So I could see you relaxed and happy once more.

If I could change the past events, make them better, I would.

If I could go back in time to when we were small, sitting on the floor playing with our Bratz dolls, I would.

If I could help you, instead of making it worse…I would.

If I could change everything, make everything right; would you want me to?

If everything you know was back to the way it should be would you want to do it?

If it was just for a day would you still take that one day, knowing that the next day you’d wake from the dream of perfection to the harsh cruelty of reality?

If I could do this for you,

If I could make it all better,

If there was something I could do…

If all was possible, would you want it?

If I could change the pain to happiness would you want me to?

If I could find a way to help, I would. I miss those times we used to spend together, playing with the hermit crabs and telling stupid jokes.

If I could go back to then, I would. If I could go back to when we’d run out to the ocean and jump into the waves, pretend the seaweed was evil and was going to kill us, I would.

	If I could comfort you

If I could be there for you

If I could have stopped this from happening

	If I could do more

If I could, I would do it all… And I would freeze time so you could be happy forever.

Happy Mother's Day

A life of love, a life of happiness,
A life without tears, a life without distress,
Given by the one whose love for me doesn't falter,
The one I dearly love, the one I call my mother,
She has been there for me when no one would,
She has been there for me when my father should,
But she stood by me through thick and thin,
That's why I love her deep down within,
She provides my wants and what I need,
So I will make her proud an surely succeed,
What I'm doing to show my love is very poor,
And honestly I know she deserves so much more,
She had me so young when she didn't had to,
She put down her life and to me she didn't turn her back to,
I love her with all my soul and all my heart,
I will love her to the finish and 17 years ago it had start,
I've lived with her all my life,
From she was single and now she's a wife,
But I know her love for me is far different,
Providing my needs even when she has to pay the rent,
I'm sorry if I hurt you or made you cry,
But I promise to make happy tears flow from your eye,
If you were to go I don't know what I would do,
So I'm telling you deep from my heart that I Love You......

Ode to a friend

I was a gloomy person
Always morose and sad
My days seemed dark and lonely
My nights always bad
Thoughts in my mind
Were all about destruction and death
Never saw a reason to smile
Never felt the warmth in the hearth

That’s when I met somebody
Someone like you, my friend
Who changed the way I lived life
And reversed the trend
Who gave me reasons to smile
To laugh and dance with joy
I stopped seeing life like a battle
As in the lore of Troy

So now I am happy and smiling
Living life to its fullest
Hearing the music in nature
And singing it with zest
I know I will live life
And be happy till its end
And it could never be this way
Without you, my friend.

An Ode to my friends

communication from above the air
random as it doesnt compare
the meet of peoples taste
so many exceptions, unknown where it leads
but a friend can call on formiddible times
can suprize and place you up there
on that higher ground
where we all belong
they can be the calling we need
the lift that stands
the love we crave
we all meet at random places
or odd situations
we have the best times
the moments we never forget
the memories we look back years later
and just smile
thankful we had the time
and wish we had all over
again and again
always repeat those days
those conversations
the real deep and meaningfuls
for what time we may have these tresured lives
that we share
may not be for long
but id never let go of those times
they made me who i am
the path i walked on
i might not see them all the time
but i do think about them
how i smile from to ear to ear
money cant buy that
no one can replace that
so with age comes being wise.. at times
and its those days that we had
makes life abit easier to live
they keep us going
and we never forgot them

Family Members Gone

Sadness, loneliness and grief,
As I still live in disbelief,
Both of them are gone,
Under the church lawn,
Gone under the soil,
And leaves me in turmoil,
My aunt and my cousin, both dead,
Laying in a casket resting their head,
I love them both, not because their family,
But because making me happy is their specialty,
They were taken by Him, it was too soon,
But that's what He wanted, He plays by His own tune,
They will be missed by many,
No one can replace them, u can’t find any,
I cry for them both, my tears will flow,
Not afraid to hide them, I make them show,
Will I ever see them again?,
If not my heart won't mend,
But I'll remember their both happy in heaven,
Just losing those two makes me feel like it was 9/11......

PARABLE IN AN ODE

PARABLE IN AN ODE.

My muse guides me to compose,
A Parable in an Ode.....
Once was driving on sodden roads,
Automobile went into overload,
Smoke emissions from transmission,
To car jam I did not give permission,
Dialled Roadside assist on my mobile phone,
Ages passed, standing by side of road,
Then along drove helpful mechanic guy,
Fixed my wheels, waved goodbye.
I drove again, wheels were turning,
Economising forever I am spurning,
Thought of this parable in an Ode,
"Always pay annual fee for assistance on the Road!!!"

Cordillia 2

You were small and still inside,
Now you never will come out.
Even though i never got to know you,
I still love you with all my heart.

There are many things i wanted to teach you,
so many things i wanted you to see.
But i know you are in a place that will always be beautiful,
You will always stay young.

You will have your sister to guide you there,
My family is always there to protect you no matter what.
I hope you are happy cordillia where ever you are,
I am happy knowing you will never experience heartache.

You will never experience the lies people will tell,
You are protected.
you are loved.
You will always be part of me and your dad.

Although i wish i could hold you in my arms,
But until we do see eye to eye.
you are in my heart.

Ode To Samantha 11

Mummy went to heaven cause they needed her up there
Mummy went to heaven, God tell her that we care
She was such a special Mummy, and we loved her ever so
Mummy went to heaven, I bet the angels know
As Daddy, Samantha and I together now we cry
Daddy asks why, with no words can I reply
To fill his empty heart, they have never been apart
I just told him to be brave; he got lots of memories to save
And not forgetting me, from their love I came to be
Now Daddy takes care of us, so we mustn’t make a fuss
He gives us all he can; he’s a special kind of man
And I’m glad he’s got his work, from it he never shirked
And I know it comforts him and it fills the interim
Till he’s with her once again, I’ll try and ease the pain
And Samantha and I together will wipe away his tears
We’ll remind him of the fun and all the happy years
We’ll think of our Mummy and both never misbehave
And all remember all the laughter and the love she gave
I promise to take care of Sammy and we’ll never disagree
And I’ll love her as I should and promise to be good
I’ll give her lots of steak, of the best she can partake
And when she gets those nasty horrid fleas
I’ll wash her and wash her and spray all of our settees
And when she meows and for our Mummy cries
I’ll hold in my lap and sing her lullabies
I won’t mention China or even Singapore
Pity she’s so yuckie and such a great big bore
Poor little Samantha now she‘s only got Dad and me
So I won’t even mention that she’s not a pedigree
Yep, I’ll try and love Samantha the best I very can
I promise I will not stick her in the frying pan
I’ll talk so soft and gently and never ever tease
Mum would be so amazed and ever so pleased
This Sunday’s Daddy’s Birthday, what can I really say
Suppose that just I love him and I’ll not be far away
After all we got each other and memories of shiny days
I love you Poppa, so remember to continue to be brave
You made our Mum so happy with the splendid love you gave.

Dearest Poetry Angel

Dearest Poetry Angel,
When I came visiting today
I was in a gloomy mood.
Your poetry burst away my clouds
And a radiant rainbow appeared.
Thank you for sharing
Your divine gift with me.
From your fountain
Let more words of inspiration
Sparkle on us mere mortals.
Please give us more poems
Of your eternal meditation.
Pain in the heart
Is so easily contagious.
Delve I into the depth
To find no solution.
Running away from truth
Leads to further tribulation.
Seeking for salvation
Is beyond my aspiration.
Reliance on anyone
Is a bar I cannot cross.
Banks I find none
For my surging emotions.
My wild untamed desires
I cannot transform.
A dual life is what
I am perennially living
In reality and
In my castle of dreams.
Engineering connections
Is hard to come by. I
Yet when I meet you
My heart contracts not.
My lips curl into a smile
And I start celebrating my life.
The clearest sky is above with
The rainbow coloured peacocks delicately dancing.
Dearest Poetry Angel I understand you not
Nor ever want to understand your sheer enigma.

Ode to Vincent van Gogh

Vincent…

This is the time of the year
When I see the ravens and the crows
Especially in an open field...
It's when I think of you…

I catch myself remembering…
I have to stop myself and breathe…
I daydream of our starry nights
I think of the ravens and the crows…
I think about your untimely plight
I wonder if you ever felt like me
If you ever felt my presence near you
And I wonder now….wherever you are
If you ever missed me too.

Could you have ever imagined
Could you have possibly known
That I’d still be thinking of you
Missing you...
After more than one long century.

It’s only been a hundred years or so
Since you severed off your ear
Since you shot yourself
Since you killed yourself
Since you shortened all your years.

If I had been there and loved you
Could I have saved you from yourself
Would it have made a difference
Or would everything have turned out the same
Would we both still be feeling lonely
Would you still be thought insane?

I did love you Vincent
I just could never let it show
I didn’t know how to tell you
Back before these 100 years
I just kept hoping
that somehow you would know.

Whenever I am in Chicago
I visit the Art Institute and sigh
As I gaze upon your starry skies
I stand before your paintings in wonder
And look deep within your eyes.

I always have to ponder
If you painted thinking of me
I know that you always knew
That I loved your greens and vibrant blues
I see that you tried to show me
How the stars reflected you in my eyes
I see the colors that you have chosen
Have always revealed your truth.

When I see your painting
Of the ravens and the crows
I know that you remembered
How the sky that day looked too
How it felt to have autumn ending
And winter closing in
How wonderful that day was
How happy we had been.

The last time we were together
Everything seemed so right and true
I had no idea
Your heart had turned so blue.
Your feelings always hidden
You never said a word
How things would tragically end
There never was a clue.

So now I stand here after 100 years
I still miss you Vincent.
I really, really do.
I wonder if you are thinking of me
And if you are happy or if you are blue.

My Sk8er Boi

You are no longer in my life.
You're in my diary
Tucked away safely in the pages.
There I know I can keep you secretly.

I can read of happy times
When all I did was because of you.
Every time you made me smile,
It would effect every nice thing that I would do.

Now life is so confusing
And I wish that you were still my confidant.
The only thing that made sense was you.
You're the only person I know of that I want.

I'll continue to read of love and frienship
And I will continue to remember
