This Universe

In the middle of the universe I stand
All alone on a quiet, desert night
Looking up at brilliant, desert stars
Shining along the Milky Way.

And in this universe, where I stand
I see the moon illuminating the sky
Constellations in their patterns
Hidden planets in their spheres.

And as I stand in this great universe
Contemplating the wonders of the night
I know that just as surely as I live
In my heart of hearts, I am not alone.

For I am seen by the One who created
This universe, in which I stand
Who made the heavens and the earth
He is the great I AM, who created me
In His great universe, where I stand.

Our Human Nature

Our Human Nature

A real aspect always part of a person’s life;
One that can bear fangs and pangs of strife.
A living barometer replete with its choices;
Leaving each of us puzzled, full of voices.

It prays on our very emotions and naiveté,
Leaving us at times in moments of disarray.

Man by his nature is fickle and imperfect.
God by His nature is divine and perfect.

A person’s decency is so wonderful to tell;
Another’s depravity is so worthy of Hell!

A person’s good deeds mark now his true measure,
Bringing him God’s divine love always to treasure!

Never trust what you can’t feel deep in your heart;
This makes us divine in God’s eyes—sets us apart!

An Autumn Portrait of Beauty

An Autumn Portrait of Beauty

On this quite beautiful and most radiant Autumn day,
I marvel at Mother Nature’s smile of silent pulchritude,
As I make a loving glance at such luscious scenery today,
In this country scene—a glorious gift of God’s certitude!

The trees and their fallen amber leaves adorn this Earth,
As a shimmering reflection pervades from a green pond,
Of Nature’s wonder with colors arrayed in a sacred rebirth,
Affirming God’s heavenly promise true and His holy bond!

This view of trees, grass, leaves, and a shadow near the pond,
Captures the glory and grace from God’s colored-palette a true,
That affirms His desire of rendering this beauty from beyond,
And I thank Him from my heart with joy and blessings so true!

Yes, God doth paint this world with such love for all to see,
His Autumn portrait here is of unparalleled artistry and grace,
That I interpret as a heavenly-made moment for all of us to be,
As I reaffirm the beauty of Nature’s gift in this wondrous place!

Divine Flowers

Divine Flowers

In a flower’s velvet petals
There dwells a divine scent and hue
Soon a tiny creature settles
That will help pollinate a few.

We are blossoms of our dear God
Born each in colors of our kin.
It matters not our birth of sod
Neither the colors of our skin.

Moments In Time

The sweetest sounds of burning trees
A gentle stroking in the breeze
The calm has lasted past the storm
Cloudy visions, Satan’s roar
Too many sights have passed my way
A time found only in the haze
The softest screams are running bare
My aching bones creak as I stare

You walk a distance towards me
The fall’s eternal, can’t you see?
I’m a memory in your heart
I whisper to you in the dark

The battle’s started at the end
No one is coming to repent
The sinners grab their wine from prey
No judgment calling here to stay
The sport is reckless to be told
The one is laughing at his souls
It falters nowhere to be sure
The power grows forevermore
Like a spirit in the wind
I have no say in where you’ve been
But cross the line to come to me
And pay the price for ecstasy

You walk a distance towards me
The fall’s eternal, can’t you see?
I’m a memory in your heart
I whisper to you in the dark.

God Has Made Everything Beautiful In His Time

“There is a time for each season…
To everything made…
There is a divine reason.

A time for purpose under
 the heavens above…
A time for meaning from a God of love.

A time to be born. A time to die…
A time to farm the ground
 under the beautiful sky.

A time to kill. A time to heal...
A time to tear down and
to build up with a passion and zeal
A time for weeping. A time for laughing…
A time to mourn. A time for dancing.

A time to keep...
A time to throw away.
A time to tear. A time to make amends today.

A time to get. A time for losing…
A time to keep. And to give
 away at our choosing.

A time for silence. A time to speak…
A time for each hour
 and day of the week.

A time for love. A time for hate…
A time for war. A time for peace at your gate.

How will you spend the time
 God has given to you?
What is your choice? What will you do???

May this be a time living in
God’s purpose and design.
He created you and made
everything beautiful in his time!

I walk out in the morning for my health,
And learn a thing or two along the way.
Such knowledge brings abundance to my wealth,
And somehow sounds like wisdom when I say.
Waters of the river carry stories.
Just listen, you can hear the words unfold.
Sometimes it can wash away your worries,
And help you to get through your day. Behold!
A gentle breeze can whisper to your heart;
Like angels serenade a searching soul.
There's so much nature's beauty can impart;
If soaking in it's beauty is your goal.
Get out there friend and see God's art today.
And get some exercise along the way.

- Universe Of God -

When the morning sun dawns
Plant a seed for the optimism and the future

You may soon see the change happen
A change that provides physical and spiritual sustenance

A seed can change the world
In the fantastic universe of God

Plant fragrant flowers like lavender to create a relaxing atmosphere
There will be no doubt that you give them from your heart

A Winter's Night

A Winter’s Night

This winter’s night is cold and bright;
frozen air brings fresh fallen snow.
It reflects now God’s true starlight!
This winter’s night is cold and bright;
a brilliant scene, this dark cold night!
Mother Nature smiles, now aglow!
This winter’s night is cold and bright;
frozen air brings fresh fallen snow.

My Heart is Amazed

My heart is amazed by His boundless compassion
My heart is in awe of the love of the Lord
The hand of His mercy endureth forever
What riches of kindness in heaven are stored!

My heart is amazed at the sight of creation
My heart is in awe of the works of the King
The fountains and river, the depth of the ocean,
The rock and the trees of His greatness shall sing!

My heart is amazed on the height of the mountain
My heart is in awe of the stars in the sky
Unmoving, unchanging, the Lord is eternal
Though years of the mortal so quickly fly by

My heart is amazed by the lamb and the lion
My heart is in awe of the birds in the air
Created for man by the hands of the Master
The heights and the depths of his dwelling to share

My heart is amazed by the King of the nations
My heart is in awe of His death on the tree
The Lamb that was Slain, by the word of the Father
Arose from the grave my Redeemer to be!

Voice Of God

To hear the voice of God,
you need only listen.
He chuckles from fast brooks,
gurgling over the rocks.

He hums with humming birds,
and sings with pods of whales.
And deep inside your thoughts,
He whispers from your heart.

Thundering in the clouds,
He chirps with the crickets.
And whistles with the winds
that sigh through the willows.

He laughs with white water,
splashing off canyon walls.
And talks to all of us,
you need only listen.

God In Creation

Who flames the lilies of the field?
And the silver gladsome stars
Or puts a blanket,towering shield
 From heaven's meteor darts.

Who grace the air in alluring sweetness?
And rivers above the expanse
Who clothes them all in retreatness?
To shout,to praise,to dance!

Who gives the rose the purest love
And the dews its silver -white
Or the blushing trees with arms above
That shakes within the light.

From regions far,to oceans near
Our God he smiles his beauty
From perfumed larks,to the leaping deer
Creation wields his duty!

I am the wind thru the trees

The apple blossom on fragrant breeze

A solitary sunbeam on a cloudy day

The rhythm of life as the tall oaks sway

I am the stream teaming with life

And the orchard, sweet, when all is ripe

Before creation was spoken to be

I am that I am, and I am He

Your Kiss from Heaven

Imagine you are outside sweltering. You’re faint, and it’s a bad state you are in. What sweet relief a summer’s rain can bring - When droplets start to kiss you on the chin! Or maybe you’re a little bit too warm, and air conditioning is all you seek when Mother Nature comes and shows her charm and blows you kisses - wind across your cheek. And maybe it is winter, and you yearn for something lovely as the north wind blows. You turn around and suddenly you learn God heard your prayer as snow flakes touch your nose. The rain, the breezes and the snow are His. How natural your kiss from heaven is. By Andrea Dietrich For the Contest of Gail Angel Doyle

Deity's Hand

Sometimes, earth and sea and sky
Act in concert and entreat me.
It’s as if they inquire with a sigh
How can you doubt what you see?

There is design in flower blossoms
In butterfly wings, and a bee’s flight.
I am driven to call them awesome
Why against God do I deign to fight?

The question catches in my brain
And summons age-honed doubts.
Life’s unfairness cuts cross the grain,
Leading me to ponder other routes.

But alternate answers fail to compete
With the majesty that encloses me.
It matters not where I wish to seek
Deity’s hand has dressed every tree.

The Legacy of Trees

To the divinity within all of us

The wind blows outside my window
Reeling mercilessly against the trees.
Its power deployed, their will to destroy
And I can hear them yell in rebellion.

Daring the wind to try with all its might
Had gone there before, they know the score.

They know the fury the wind can carry
Whatever is in store, they cannot ignore.

They stand out, proud, arms stretched out
Bonded are their souls, holding the same goal.

Their unity, a fortress that found no distress
They would face this trial as they did those prior.

It was their legacy born in tenacity
From the beginning, it was God given.

So that man would come to understand
The extent of his God given potential.
To walk his way through life's hills and valleys
Building character, until he is one in heart with the Creator.

When the river runs dry

When the river runs dry

When the river runs dry, tears of sorrow fill this poets eyes
The words just won't flow, as the blank page clearly shows

All life dries up as ideas and thoughts they get torn in two
All around us can see it and sense it they feel the sorrow too

For what is life without freedom of thought and it's expression?
All poets like their words to be heard and read without exception

Our Maker well knows our needs, knows us better than ourselves
When the river runs dry, He gives us clean waters found in his well

When we go to him and drink deeply of his fresh waters of truth
Our soul and spirit are invigorated renewed like the days of our youth

Our prayers are answered as copious tears shower down from on high
We drink it all in till we're dripping wet, that's when we understand why

When we rely on ourselves our own thinking from our imperfect minds
That's when there's trouble, the page is blank and so the river runs dry.

Be Still

Be Still.......

I will walk with God
In the beauty of the morning
While the dew still lies upon the ground
While the birds still sing their morning song
And while the evening sky still twinkles like neon lights
And the sun still rises with its golden glow bathing everything in glorious light
And in The evenings quiet where I live has entered its time of rest at calling dusk
He still holds me tight in His warmth under downy wings soft like clouds that puff and blow across a horizon that only God could grow to water and shelter a land dependant on His goodness-

Yes I still walk with God in great expectations- reliant on His promises of always being with me- And He- even amidst the horrors of war famine and disease and evil atrocities born from the darkness of evil- His promises are still new every morning that I wake- and He still bears me through the trials and carries my burdens and makes them light- He is still my Father- And He is still My Lord and- He still- Knows my name.

mother nature, mother earth

Mother Nature, Mother Earth.

If Mother Earth stood in front of you what would you say?
Sorry for taking your whales away,
Sorry for cutting your forests to shreds,
Sorry little animals for taking your beds,
Sorry polar bears for melting your ice, having to swim further to save your own live,
Sorry to all the fish in the sea, because its to hot you try to flee.
Sorry for the birds and the bees, not many left on the all gone trees.
Sorry for the nuclear plants, but man seems to think that he must advance.
Sorry for the wars we cause, they certainly are not gods or yours.
Sorry for the faith man has lost, your biggest creation is losing with cost.

If you were Mother Earth and told these things, what would you say to me?
“SORRY, SORRY, SORRY”, is all you have to say,”
You destroy everything which we have given you”.
” The animals are going have gone extinct,
You kill the air you so precisely need,
You fight each other and call it in the name of god, which god do you perceive,
The one with love to all, for all, which he created,
Or the one who fell from grace with hatred.

I would look at her with glee
Because the earth sounds like the second scenario to me.
The next question I would ask
Mother Nature are we going to last
. If everyone on the earth of today
threw down their arms and started to pray
would god hear our prays in just that day
mother nature would look at me
and look around at the all gone trees
then she would bend down on her green leafed knees
A tear in her sunlit eyes saying to me
“Sorry to late”.

What would you do if Mother Earth or Nature stood in front of you?

The End.

Rising Sun

Observe how the ants labor without a peep;
Note the fine artistry of the spider's web-spinning;
Who will wake the bear from his long winter sleep?
Stand in awe of the hummingbird flapping its wings;
Listen to the lovely melody the songbirds sing;
Watch the majestic hawks leave their nests and soar;
Bask in the rising sun's heat at the ocean shore.
An invitation into God's presence
comes from the sun, the creatures, and much more.
All of His creation emits His essence.

The Many Ways God Speaks To Us

The Many Ways God Speaks To Us There are many ways God’s seeking To make Himself known. But is man listening and looking To understand Nature’s revealing crown. It talks to our human senses Every waking moment of the day. And in the night so deep and dark, His starry heavens come into play. In the smile of a new born baby And those tiny hands so sweet, God shows us His creation glory Our own image to repeat. In Spring it is the flowers And their aromatic perfume; The lambs frisking with each other; Birds and their babies singing the same tune. In the lakes and babbling brooks He speaks to us as well. Full of fish and waterfalls— Many ignored stories to tell. The wind whispering through the trees But never can be seen; Sways the tallest of the forest; Then disappears like a dream. We see Him in the thunder storm And in lightning bolts so bright. They light up His majestic heavens, Even in the darkest night. In the white snow of winter, When those flakes begin to fall, Gently in their uniqueness They rest to cover one and all. If we would but look and listen To see God’s many ways Of teaching us precious lessons Of obedience and praise. Stars in their trackless courses Follow their appointed place and time. Why does man think he’s so different; Self-sufficient, yet needing the Divine? The many ways God speaks to us Are far too many to name. How can anyone say, “There’s no God”, Such blindness should be put to shame. God’s creation is all around us In the sun, moon, stars and sea; In everything beautiful He’s created That surrounds us lovingly. Copyright © Maureen LeFanue 2012

The Magician's Hall

The wind is in the west

and the moon large and low,

   the tapered horizon aglow

   with the recesses of a withered day;

How symphonic a minstrel display,

tallied up like gathered notes to eve's call,

   and the swooning lake ----

How the waves chase the eastern fringes of the bay,

they ask not why they go this way

   (or that)

   yet merely harken God's call

   as they persist their way,

   fain without promise.....

And cresting my observations,

as if in some pantomime-movie play ----

   I mused:

Where is the Projector?

Where God Is Near

The rising sun throws it’s first beams
across the morning glade.
These waking hours are as it seems
to me the strength of day.

I stop and take in as I walk
the newness of the sights:
the deer feeding among the stalks,
the hawk up high in flight.

For me this quiet time of day
is sanctuary here.
In this reprieve I want to stay,
in this, where God is near.

Whispered Into The Air

I admire the tree in silence.
The way it clings to the rock
And works its way down into the river
Down into the earth.
I think about the knowledge of man.
All the things that men have told me
about the tree – about botany or biology.
They have said this
They have said that
Words whispered into the air and gone in time.
Knowledge is worthless in comparison to beauty
This tree is magnificent
And that is enough for me.

Seeking God In Nature

DeDraconi's Sonnet

Seeking God in nature

If you seek God then look around you
In life’ sweet beauty you will find him there
In the flowers or in the morning dew
Who with you, their hues and perfumes share.

In the lake that shines beneath the sun
You’ll find him there. He’ll look into your face
He’ll be there too when morning has begun
As the birds sing out in wondrous grace

When the lightning comes, and thunder rolls
As the rain pours down and the winds blow strong
You’ll feel him as a whisper in your soul
He’ll comfort you with his soothing song.

When you close your eyes, and see your self
You’ll feel the silence, then, you’ll know he’s here
He’s always here. He is your hidden wealth
Whispering his message loud and clear.

He’s everywhere, always here, he is
Everywhere he is, is filled with bliss
