Skin Deep

I love you just the way you are
(after they buff that awful scar)
and laser the tattoos over your heart
I'm sure we're destined never to part
Remember to tuck up that cute
double chin
and put those buttocks back where
they'd been
     Do ask about Lypo and
wax that moustache
and while you are at it get those teeth
that flash
A beautiful smile in no time they say
it Looks great and it seems such a small
price to pay
For love such as ours that
withstands any crisis
so while you are there just look
into the prices
     of permanent lashes and
green contacts honey
     and buy some new clothes
for it's well worth the money
a wig or a dye job will top
off the look
and get those new nails that
we saw in that book
     I love you for you
but it's so plain to see
There's really a much better you
you can be
     So call me next year
after all transformations
(I'm sure you'll exceed all of
my expectations)
     Just fax me a photo
I'll show it with pride
But remember I love you
for the you that's inside!

Code Red: Army of Gods

She was intelligent enough not to tell the gentleman of
The access card to her madness of heart
He played strong suits in case his suitcase didn't make
The pursuit in hand soon cut to the chase

But this is business at its finest
When we promised we wouldn't try this 'cause
It's an -ism that isn't auto
Like the condition in my blood flow
Don't you know oh
You didn't know

And now it's code red at the marina
And the emotions bled because I've seen her
Venus in arms baby an arsenal from afar
Venus in arms with her army of gods

I fight emotionless
Since in my soul there's less
We're in suit
But you get the credit while they edit out the sects
Oh it's enough
Baby the -ism's from above

So it's code red at the marina
And the emotions bled because I've seen her
Venus in arms baby the arsenal from afar
Venus in arms with her army of gods

And she's in my arms
Like a victim of love
Yes in my arms
My victim from above

You Were The Best Mother, Until the Alzheimers Ruined Everything

Sixteen years ago this week you died,
It was such a shock, I cried and cried.
But deep in my heart, it didn't feel as if you had just died.
to me your illness took away my mother,.
And left some one else there, another
Someone who didn't even know the time of day
or even what day it was, Monday or Saturday.
You couldn't even make a cup of tea,
let alone keep your flat, like it used to be.
You phoned me constantly day and night.
I tried to get to see you, with all of my might.
But I couldn't do it, not then at all,
then you had that dreadful fall.
You didn't know what agoraphobia was.
I couldn't tell you well, because.
You hated the home we had to put you in,
but by then you couldn't do a thing.
Alzhiemer's, senile dementia, i’m not
even sure what you had.
All I know is, it was very bad
It robbed .me of my mother so many years
before she actually died..
We couldn't get through to you,
no matter how hard we tried.
You lived in a little, world of your own,
making us all feel so alone.
You used to be so clever, so strong, so true,
Then just look what this illness did to you.
you used to knit, sew all our clothes you did make,
everything we ate, you did bake.
When you were younger such good jobs you had.
like ten whole years at the Nat.West.Bank.
before the war.
Then seven years nursing the soldiers during the war.
After you married and had us two.
You still worked so hard, so much to do,
For years you ran the taxi business we had.
throughout the good and even the bad.
I had to answer the phone at four years of age
(Haywood’s taxi’s) I would say,
Then our business folded through,
you still worked so hard' so much to do.
With my father you managed the (bridgford wine stores)
on melton road, west bridgford, for many years,
Then on parliament street to
( Smith Englefield ) you went
,You worked there for many years
until to ( gem ) you were sent
You worked so hard, all of your life,
A wonderfull mother, a wonderfull wife
You were the best mother, anyone could have had,
until your illness, made everything so bad,
So please god in heaven above,
Please send my mother all our love.

A Pirates Tale

A Pirate's Tale

Fishers fish and merchants drift
But pirates search and seek and sift
They show their wealth with coins they spit
While honest men give honest gifts

A fletcher rises with the day
His arrows up and sailed away
The hunters come, and simply say
There's cheaper arrows at pirate-bay

The fletcher fletched to get the price
To fetch a necklace for his wife
But all those jewels were laid to rest
Beneath the dirt in pirate chests...

A pirate brings them back to air
And gives them to a maiden fair
He drinks, and thinks, and learns with time
Her necklace will not ever shine

he is leaving home

In great respect of the band I grew up listening to
as sure as Mom passed down Saturday Chores
for I had been chosen to scrub bathroom floors `

Yet a familiar sound would bring me to keep scrubbing
The red album, The blue album , The White album
Then .. Abbey Road , always remembering the sad look on
Ringo's face , knowing something hard to understand underneath~

I get it now, what you were saying all those years ago ,
the many sad lonely tears , secret tears , secret fears
For Maxwell's Hammer was a real one . It wanted silence

Going back ..remembering when John Lennon died
I was in Arkansas saddened with the world .
Then seeing his face saying " Drag isn't it "
No .. this was not my hero in music and song .

for he was a stand in hired William Cambell , he filled his shoes
only to bring diversity and to create so much beautiful music from loss

One left standing , alone whom looked grief struck on back cover ~
The other identity hidden, tried to be part of ..coming together
                                                                                                                                                                   In his
                              world of secrets
He to suffers today , in fear , Faul~

Too many years gone by .let us tell the Truth. Let us be free
The very sad long and winding Road ~
Let us Bury our real Paul.

No more " Mystery tour "
                             No more fear
Let him be in peace ~

Reflections: Midlife Crisis

P aranoia permeates, etching itself into your fractured face,
A cacophony of constant pressure; life remains a stressful race,
N othing to hope for, no positives like promotion in the workplace,
I nability to love, relationships lift anchor and set sail without chase,
C hildren crushing dreams under mortgages; age grows with disgrace

ONCE AGAIN THANK YOU

I was just trying to remember the past
trying to remember the good people
 and the bad people,
that i came across on my way,

i want you to know
that you are among the good people
that left a good trace in my life,

once again i just want to say thank you
for passing through my life,
is so short but is wonderful
i want you here forever.

Unknown

Who am I?
Am I defined by what is near in sight?
Am I defined by what I have done,
Or am I defined by what I could become?

Perhaps I'm of no use.
To him, or her, or I, nor you.
Or perhaps I'm too misunderstood to be defined,
And it is something like understanding that comes in time.

And if to the world I'm never shown,
Yet in my own light I've grown and grown,
And so I can know no happiness but my own--
The reason for my smile, to you, will forever be unknown.

I do not pray for the world to know my name.
For it and verse; the letters are the same.
And if a man should find his sorrow in what he reads,
I pray his pain my words to keep.

Should his eyes rain on my page,
Better tears than storms of rage.
And if a man should find his sorrow in what he reads.
I pray his pain my words to keep.

And if to the world you're never shown,
Yet in your own light you've grown and grown,
And so you know no happiness but your own.
Let the reason for your smile, to you, only be known.
