I Choose To Be Happy

I choose to be happy each day
no matter what blocks the sun's rays.
I'll still jump, catch the train,
do sun dance in the rain;
and then gather today fresh flowers bouquet.

I choose to be glad and be grateful,
to count all my blessings, be cheerful.
I may go up then under,
but keep on and I ponder;
it feels good to do things and be joyful .

I choose to be a smile in the night,
a spark in the dark that burns bright;
to someone who’s down,
a laughter and clown,
moreover a channel of joy and delight.

Limericks 10

There was a young man named Bruce
Who to the Middle East offered a truce?
He would build a brick wall
Over a thousand feet tall
Then paint it a dark shade of puce

There was a young lady named Ruth
She sometimes forgot to tell the truth
Her mum would get mad
And so would her dad
But only while she was a youth

Poor Peter was awfully well bred
And a Christian life he had led
Nobody cried
When the poor fellow died
They just gave him to god instead

A final stab in the dark
It’s late and sod this for a lark
I just want my bed
But words whirl round my head
So I’m writing whilst out in the park

Catch all you thoughts in a jar
Like the one about your favourite car
Keep em locked in a draw
Look at them some more
Then release them and let them fly far

In cricket I batted a two
Round the field the ball it just flew
The bowlers just could not cope
As the ball hit the boundary rope
Soon a hundred I did accrue

I’d like to ride a real tall horse
In the company of John Wayne of course
With Clint Eastwood by our side
Going for a long hard ride
With our six guns the law we’d enforce

I once owned a Honda Accord
The only car that I could afford
I kept it pristine
Polished to a high sheen
It never let me down when abroad

An old man of ninety three
Said he could not wait to see
His telegram from Queen
So a hundred he’d seen
Now that’s what I call optimistically

At last I have reached number ten
As the ink has run out of my pen
I will get a refill
Take a headache pill
Then maybe start over again

If You managed to stay awake through this well so did I, and if you read them all then you deserve a medal, thanks for your patience, all the best Owen

Rock and roll that's my play
Who wants to stay and sway
Don't care if you're footloose
Any music we'll dance and choose
Smiles; grooving fun that we'll display

Not the material guy

Not the material guy

I’m not the material guy
Ambitions were never for I
I’m always the one
That gets noting done
I’m a dreamer, I cannot deny.

My mind it is not very clever
My heart is as light as a feather
My manner is free
Like a bird in a tree
And I never will worry, not ever

Just like a river I’ll flow
And always my heart it will glow
I won’t push the river
So life does deliver
A feeling that each day does grow

Until the day that I die
I won’t let a day pass me by
Without looking at me
At within, what I be
As always I’ll ask ‘Who am I?’

Happy Birthday Fat Man

In the many long years since your birth
You've made twenty eight laps with the earth
In that time you've taken
Your fair share of bacon
And thus greatly increased in your girth

H is for Happy

H is for Happy, a tickled pink smiley
A jam on a pancake, made of strawberry
to start-up a day
when you can just play
dress like a princess, and mom is the fairy.

H is for Happy, a birthday wish for you,
to feel in your heart, though everything is new
to laugh and then giggle
to dance and then jiggle
run, skip and wiggle like that day at the zoo.

In Anaheim

We'll dance across the floor.
We'll dance across the sky.
I'll never wonder why?
We dance across the sky.
Because in Anaheim.
We'll have a real good time.
The sun will shine.
In Anaheim..

Then we'll take the car.
We'll drive across the town.
We'll drive our car.
Until the sun goes down.
Because in Anaheim.
We'll have a real good time.
A real good time.
In Anaheim.

Now the stars are out.
We'll see the milky way.
The moon shines bright.
Every single day.
Because in Anaheim.
We'll have a real good time.
What's on my mind.
Is a real good time.
In Anaheim..

Happy Ten months to my Katie Bear

A silly poem for my Katie Bear:

Wow, can you believe we've reached month TEN
Would someone be so kind as to hand me a PEN?

For i think it's time to send you a poem filled with LOVE
There's no doubt in my mind your a gift from ABOVE.

I love this girl with all my HEART
That's why it kills me to be APART

So far we've come, just look how much we CARE
Even though i no longer have blue HAIR.

For something has grown, something much DEEPER
as my grandpa says "This one's a KEEPER"

The people at work say "is she the one?"
I just smile and say if she laughs at my pun!

Now i know this is SILLY
and you'll sit and say "REALLY?"

But yes, really, my feelings are TRUE
the only girl i want is YOU

cheers to us, and to many years more
to a love that lasts through rich and poor

To growing old, and in each others arms falling asleep
I'd smile at your slumbering frame as you make not a peep

So one last time, happy anniversary
I promise i'll go buy all of the groceries

Lately all I can ever sit and think about is you
and how I know your words to be only true
you will continuously be my friend
forever and for always until the end
friends like you are far and few, boyfriends are too

One day soon you will become my man
not just my best friend and biggest fan
you will be more when the time does come
and our relationship will be both serious and fun
but I promise that I will never how it all began

We bonded over our love for poems and such
and it grew to be a bond that grew so much
we have a bond that runs so deep
a step into a relationship is a big leap
You'll never know what you've done with a loving touch

You've touched my heart in more than just one way
In my life I want you to please please forever stay
I am still hesitant to follow again love's siren call
but I know with you I won't be hurt if I do fall
so your patient til I'm ready to take that leap one day

To die before you die is worse then death itself.
Time doesn’t stop as you are sprung backwards.
Now you have to climb forward.
Desperately yearning to revert to your normal self.
Desperately wanting something to spring you back to where you were, happy.

The Point

O grand and gracious Jehovah
Grand Author of creation
Source of my inspiration
Cage me within the shade of your umbrella
Accept my pleas for forgiveness
Allow me dwell in your blessedness
Protect me as I sleep
Like a shepherd would his sheep
O wise and merciful One
You sacrificed your only son
For my sake to prove a point
A point being the joint
Between creator and creation
Love me Lord in the name of your son.

Sullivan was happy as a bird

Sullivan was happy as a bird
Sent my Meeni a Valentine card
"Oh my sweetie would be wife"
"You are the breath of my life"
She snorted, "I've joined an avant-garde"

Happy eightieth birthday to Jack
Our Jack could make a duck quack
or grin if it could
like you or I would
at his words engraved on a plaque.

‘Cause they’d likely be a bit funny
at the very least a tad on the punny.
Coming from him
even a hymn
would hop like a drunk Easter bunny.

‘Cause Jack-O-the-north knows it best:
this life is only a test,
for giving up mad
and taking up glad
giving thanks for all we’ve been blest.

Pretty good words don’t you think?
His! (Not mine which do stink.)
I wrote this last night
(a bit of a fight)
in Jack’s honor I’d had a stiff drink

So celebrate this special day.
Go over to Jack’s and say, “Hey!”
“Happy birthday to you”
“you loveable poo!’
Then duck and get out of his way!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
