The Might Of Things Unseen

Like a breath of wind that clings to barren haul Let me fill my lungs and join the stars in brawl They seem so feisty full Divine they tug and pull Like threadlike light on a baby’s green shawl The might of things unseen like silent sliver hush Are lullabies well sung while braids of silver rush Turn down the will By moonlit sill Invisible to all but all to one who heeds the rush The winter comes with scenes of white and blight The blowing wind on barren breast The Midas truth engraved on chest And all is quiet once again, all poised in white It grows in silence like a virgin rose upon the snow Slow to sprout in deep appendage for a silver beau Together they’ll chide Slip knots of leather n’ hyde Invisible to all but all to one, the wind will blow

On a Planet In Far Outer Space

On a planet in far outer space,
You'll find a familiar face,
The folk there you see,
Well they all look like me,
It must be a beautiful place.

Sisterly Competition

Delilah is hot,
Ruthie is not.
Delilah is smoking hot,
Ruthie is truly not.
Delilah is five alarm fire hot.

Monday Afternoon at Three

I'll meet Guru Jad at three
I’m sure we’ll talk poetry
What’s new on the Soup
The latest wild scoop
While we eat under a tree

It’s nice to have a good friend
Someone who does comprehend
That words are sublime
And poetry’s fine
Our love for words a nice blend

Should have baked a carrot cake
But last night I stayed up late
We'll still have some fun
Get burned by the sun
Talk of Soupers who are great!

We might just mention you too
So without further ado
I’ll just say goodbye
Don’t miss me- please try
Cause I'll have fun without you! ;)

Eileen Manassian Ghali

PS….love ya’ll, but it sure is nice to talk face to face with a poet who is in the same PS community and who loves words as much as I do. Check him out at GURU JAD! ;) BTW...it is a glorious day in Beirut. Our campus is just blooming with life. Wish I could share the beauty and colors with you all. My beautiful jacaranda trees are about to burst into a profusion of purple color! Oh...I wish you could see it all! :) <3 Our Creator is simply amazing!

Overt Sensitivity

Dear Sweet Ramona is real easy on men’s eyes.
Even the slightest hint of sadness brings tears to her eyes.
She became a nurse and went to help out in Afghanistan.
The depths of depravity there she just could not understand.
Now permanent tears of sadness flow continuously from her eyes.

WITHOUT YOU

Staring at the shy pale moon*
I came to realize rather soon
That without you on my side
My sorrow wasn’t able to hide
That bright night of month June!

Sweet Josephine

Josephine! Josephine!
Prettiest girl I have ever seen.
She looks just like a movie star.
Men come from near and far
To get a glimpse of sweet Josephine.

BEAUTIFUL LINDA BECAME A NUN

Beautiful Linda became a nun,
prayed in the Chapel forgiving John
who swore her faithfulness
with very solemn words...
she did not know that he was a con!

Acting

My notion at its most masochistic
The crowd, laughs, quite the kick.
I've never enjoyed anything more
The art is my greatest lore.
It's the only life I'd ever pick.

A Prayer

It hurts if canker cuts a rose
Or the moon behind cloud's kerchief goes'
We are that sensitive.
Therefore o God why give
Any pretty girl a runny nose?
