My Kindergarten Teacher

My kindergarten teacher and I’d guess probably yours
Taught me all I need to know to open all the doors
She taught me all my letters and how to write them out
She taught me about indoor voice and there is no need to shout
She read to me for hours; she taught me 2 + 2
She said “in learning there is power and I’m giving that to you”
She taught me how to make friends and how friends help friends get by
She taught me how to make amends when I made others cry
She taught me that in sharing I get more than I give
She taught me that in caring a better life I’d live
She taught me about teamwork and how to be discerning
But most of all she taught me a life-long love of learning

My kindergarten teacher passed away some time ago
I never got to thank her but I’d hope somehow she’d know
A kindergarten teacher is an angel in disguise
Leading – loving – learned - intelligent and wise

If not for kindergarten teachers who knows where we would be
Thank your kindergarten teacher, once for you and once for me

My Father's Footsteps

I can see you up ahead of me
I am following
in your footsteps

no matter how fast I walk
I cannot catch up

your footsteps are bigger than mine
but they were warm
and safe to step in

you turn around
and smile encouragingly
then return to your journey

thank you for your footsteps
when I can no longer see you
they will always be here
pointing me in the right direction

Grandparents

Grandparents

Grandparents they be two lights
Who may lead to wisdoms door.
For hopefully they've lived their lives
And made that journey to the core
And found the jewel buried there
Beneath the shades of sorrow.
And now these two be living life
No past and no tomorrows.

They be a pool within a desert
Where the grass grows lush and green.
A cool place where the kids drop in
To breath in air that's more serene.
They will be gentle, sweet, but stern
{If the need for this comes up}
But mostly kids look on these folk
To over fill the loving cup.

And when these ancient ones depart
And through the golden gates do stroll
The power that rules these mighty realms
{Once the aids have weighed the soul}
Will send them down as spirit folk
To help folks lives to flow
before they enter Earth again
To gain another chance to grow.

Your My Dear Friend

We have been together
treasured joy now for many years
we trust each other with our
emotions, with affection, tears,

Any day when you are sick or hurting
I feel your pain - significant other,
when eighter-one needs attention
we help one another...

These mutual friendly feelings
for assistance, approval, support
form our tight bonds,
usually never broken

Sharing visions, time together
we respect each other,
regardless of shortcomings
I know you, "I love you anyway"

Healing Words

My mother, my grandmother before has always held a place in my heart.
My father, and my grandfather before has the same part.
I was young and very active with unwillingness to listen fully to what they had to say.
I had a problem, never could be solved without my parents and grandparents till today.
With patience they all come to my aid when I fall on my face.
With little dishonor I listen to them and what they had to say, I embrace.
Over the years I go to them with no doubt a feeling of no dismay.
Over the years I go to them and they help me solve problems that to me is O.K.
Now I am getting a bit more aware of what had happen to me when I was growing.
Now I remember how the ride was in my beginning: it was a trial of not knowing.
With the guided words of my parents and grandparents I survive through them all.
With it some being a problem that I remember I recall.
My mother and my grandmother always said to be patient and it will be easy to solve.
My father and my grandfather always knew that I would grow and evolve.
I could wonder everyday what if my parents and grandparents was not in my life.
I could just think that would be fatal like a stab with a knife.
With knowledge that they had past on to me of what they had experience.
With their proof of teachings they had past on to me is their self existence.
Over the years I grew with life so full of happiness that was because of my families love.
Over the years it showed me the path that led me to all the above.
Now cherish those words that help me through my troubles in my new family.
Now I listen to my parents healing words of wisdom and except them gladly.

US in JesUS

Before we were thought of or time had started,
God put US in His Son’s name..

And each time we pray, you'll see its true,
You can't spell Jesus without including US.
Were a pretty big part of His wonderful name,
For US, He was born;

And His great love for US is the reason He died.
Isn't it thrilling and splendidly grand
He rose from the dead, with US in His plan?

The stones split away, the gold trumpet blew, egospelexpress
And His resurrection was for US.

As JesUS left the earth with His wonderful ascension,
When He felt there was one thing He just had to mention.

"Go into the world and tell them it's true
that I love them all - Just like I love you."

So many people are Christian brothers and sisters,
Don't all the others have a right to know JesUS too?

It all depends on what we do,
He'd like them all to know,
But it all starts with US.

The Difference

The Difference There was once a young little boy. He came from a very poor family. He went to school dressed very poorly. His teacher admired him. His grades were the best that she had seen, but the other kids made fun of him. That did not bother him. One day things started to change. his feelings and his problems - he kepted to himself. His grades started to fall and the teacher notice that. She asked him what was wrong? He said - my mother is very sick and there is no hope for her. This has broken my heart. His grades dropped lower and he started missing school. One week went by and he didn't show up. His teacher went to see him and found out that his mother had died. His father was drinking heavy and had no time for him. He told her - I have no one. The teacher said - you have me. Go back to school and i will helpe you bring up your grades. She gave him a kiss and a hug. He told her - you remind me of my mother. Everyday after school, the teacher and him studied hard. Very soon his grades came up. Then Christmas came. All the kids brought presents for the teacher. He too brought her two little gifts and very humble told her - these are for you. The teacher opened them up. One was a bracelet that was missing some stones. The other was a bottle of perfume that was half full. All the kids in the class room laughed, but the teacher put them on and gave him a hug and told him - thank you. He smile and said - now you smell like my mother. After that, the teacher kept helping him and he studied very hard. he finished High school and invited his teacher to his graduation. Then he went off to college. Again on his graduation he invited his teacher. she went. she just had to be there. He told her - thank you for making a difference in my life. If it wasn't for you - I would not be here today. The last that was heard - the teacher got a last invitation. This time it was for his Wedding. She was going, she would not miss this for the world. The invitation said - my Wedding wouldn't be the same if I couldn't have you by my side. You have made the difference in me...

An Ode to LIFE Part 1

An Ode To LIFE

As I lay my head down and start to fall asleep I see myself being carried off to a place and time the place of our Lords birth in Bethlehem of Judea

As in the Bible tells the story of His life and how he lived and died in that human seance and rose on the day He told of

I do not remember being here but I remember the story I was taught so many years ago

As I walk through the streets of Bethlehem I see each scene and hear every word as I am learning the story they telling is true

The writer writes of a jealous King and his way of dealing with his people and of Mary and Joseph who came to Bethlehem to have a child

The story tells of the three wise men who saw a star in the north and heard of a child who was born to be the King of the Jews and come to see and bring Him gifts

An angel from the Heavens above came to Mary and Joseph in a dream and told them they had to leave Bethlehem or King Herod would have their son killed

So they left Bethlehem and went to Egypt and there they lived until King Herod no longer ruled

As I follow along in my dream I see each scene and hear every word as I am puzzled by the fact I understand each

I don’t understand why I’m going through this time but I know I must continue on this journey

As I am pulling through a time where I reach the place of Jesus’ in Nazareth of Galilee

As I watched Him grow and work in His father's shop I could see the thing in Him that were with me

As I walk along the streets and look around I hear the people talk of a child that speaks of wondrous love that’s all forgiving and of a Father in Heaven that’s loving and true.

Dedication to Everyone

I feel that I have found a home in this cyberspace
with full of hearts and ideas in a special place
I wonder of all the people in the world to make me smile
with antics that help me grow in every mile
I do want to say to all of the people with respect
because of all of you my mind is not in a wreck
I would lie if I did not get ideas from all of you
without you my poems would not come true
I bless everyone with care
with kindness and without dis-pare
I hold my hands high and put them together
with this I bless you with good weather
I do read some of the poems that people put out
sometimes I feel with out a doubt
I feel the pain in the poems that some has revealed
with hopes that they can read with their mind not sealed
I smile a bunch with every word
it is like a music in my head making a cord
I do want you all to know that you have made my day
to be a better day in every different array
I cherish my time with all the people in my heart
the words flow in my mind is just but a start
I'm happy with everyone in PoetrySoup.com
with hardship that came this cyberspace makes me calm
I cannot choose five cause if I do I don't think it's right
just to tell you that is just my own insight
I thank all for helping me grow with all the poems that are shown
with faith and humor, with views of kindness this site has grown

If I had to say or dedicate my poems to who
would be the first five who reads my poems with a point of view

Porn No More

I've watched the war from behind closed doors;
Eyes too glued to close.
And now knowing what's in store, there's porn no more.
God's love is the only hope we know.
We are forgiven because of the love that is Jesus.
We are saved because of the love that is Jesus.
We give our lives to the Father for we are His children and He loves us.
We are loved!
No matter what we've done, we are loved!
Confess and ask for forgiveness;
This is such a beautiful gift!
Thank You God!
Thank You Jesus!
You forgive me!
You save me!
You change me!
I am changed!
I am new!
I am renewed!
I am forgiven!
I am saved!
I am changed!
There's porn no more
For God's hope is in store!
There's porn no more
For God's love is the hope of the world!

Arising at times their is pessimism
So cautiously they vie for self discipline
While still relying on expressionism
Patience from them is like the drug insulin

Spreading joy

Spreading joy

I’d like to scream it out
Wake up, and come alive
Smell the air and fall in love
And let your soul survive
You’ve buried it beneath the dust
Of who you think you are
Because you think you be an image
When really you’re ‘the star’.

When you find the truth in you
You’ll know just who you be
And everything will lift you up
And all the mystery
Will flood into your very being
And life will be so sweet
You might not get enlightened
But you’ll feel more complete

Oh, I could scream and cry
I want to spread the truth
That you only have to look within
Then you’ll have all the proof
So then it will be gone
The fear, and emptiness
And life will be a song of joy
Each day a sweet caress.

A Caring Man

There comes to us each Thursday morning

One very interested in our group sharing

The texts to be used the next Sunday

His explanations of the verses help hear what they say

Our questions asked, sometimes simple, sometimes deep

His answers almost never put us to sleep

The Spirit speaks through this spiritual man

Understandable words spoken like few can

An hour Bible study, most times extended by half

Quite often interspersed with a hearty laugh

Who is this teacher/preacher sent to us to speak

Knowledgeable words our hearts seek

That one who longs for God's word, our hearts to fill

The one known to all of us as our friend, Pastor Bill

The Light

They praise me like a saint,
But I am a sinner;
They don't know the man they see.
I am an addict.
Broken eyes to pornography,
Only Jesus can set me free.
Only by His death on the cross
And the grace of His Father's love
Am I able to be set free.
With God as The Light,
The One and Only Light,
The Only Hope in sight,
Will I be set free.
I am free.

Be Thankful for A Teacher

This is dedicated to the P-12 teachers that do hard all day every day who go beyond the call
of duty to innovate and educate we get a lot put on our plate and still pour out much love all
because we are annointed and appointed to teach from the best teacher the Creator from
above. Enjoy your break. Give yourself a date. I know your pain. Give thanks in Jesus's
name. That we have strength of Him to lead a class, carry on multiple tasks, exemplify love,
share knowledge,be a witness and serve the community.Parents be thankful for the teacher
this holiday. Please to your child don't say I wish you had a school day. Give the good
teachers a break because the bad ones could care less about giving their best on anyday.
Teaching is not money its about sowing a seed to have a grand future harvest. Be thankful
this Thanksgiving for a teacher indeed.

Fly Away My Angel

Today....... we have to say goodbye one last time to you,
For us, your children, it has to be the hardest thing we've had to do!
I know you have left this body before us and yet it seems oh too real,
So many people who loved you,"praying for what they must feel."
We knew this day would come but not yet....it's way to soon.
Begging God for his mercy...."please help us by healing you."
The sun is shining like a warm July,
The patriotic flag waving high in the sky!
I can't help but think, maybe he did save you?
What actually went wrong, why did it happen so soon?
Our lives will never be the same, we'll never talk to you or even hear your voice,
As of today or even tomorrow we will never have that choice.
You have been the teacher of God's word and a child of his grace,
I'm sure the gates of heaven opened up and the Angel's have rejoiced.
But here on earth we are left with the memory and a pain I can't explain,
We cry for no reason, we don't understand what's left to gain?
Car's are lined up around the block, we look back as far as we can see,
Our Mom is so blessed by people she touched and her life a legacy.
Now entering your final place of rest, we're put to the test,
Bishop Jesse begins to say...what a beautiful day she gave us! For God's child to rest.
He say's we are "Celebrating" life of such a great woman of God,
She was a fishermen of men and a teacher of his love,
Her great hope was for all to follow his word.....let us pray,
So many turned their lives over to Jesus on this day.
Amen! She is still bringing people to know him even in his place of rest.
So to you Mom; Fly away my Angel! you are the best!!

Arabic labelling on bottles of water,
Room overlooking bricks and mortar,
Men want tips for being your porter,
Getting to food is a pitiless slaughter.

Piles of olives and eggs sit just right,
In bowls coloured an abyss of white,
Odd cuisine makes a peculiar sight,
This is the date I’ll be having tonight.

Cold meat and ham sit on your plate,
Plenty queues; too much time to wait,
Stomach rumbles, hunger won’t abate,
Hurry it’ll all be gone if you arrive late!

Godly teaching inspiration in the iY generation

It is so hard in this day and age of blurred lines, wrecking balls and falling trees to challenge students to see the right side of things,
The way Jesus made others see.
He who is without sin throws the first stone,
Two people who owe a debt are forgiven
Which one is more grateful?
The one owed the small debt or the large debt?
Side note, math word problems have always baffled me and even though I read through this parable to find the answer, I am still confused, but I showed my work so that counts for something right?
Jesus’ parables are such a great outline on how to present something to this x or z or gf, btw generation.
If we post it on twitter they might just retweet it and believe it.
Btw when you label someone they will begin to act in the way that they have been labeled.
If we aren't getting kids to smell what Dr. O is cooking aka blowing up, then it is our fault.
Jesus was able to take the most difficult people of his day and get them to see what was up!
But you say he had God on his side, so do we*Romans 8:31
But he was the son of God, we are also the children of God* Galatians 3:26-27
Feel free to chime in with excuses; we can post those on twitter too, #lame.
Sure we are going to get played more than FIFA 14 and Flappy Bird.
But it’s like they say in Baseball and softball, it only takes one.
And for us it is that one sheep we are responsible for* Luke 15:1-7
Your sheep may be bigger than others, but the Lord has placed that sheep in your flock for a reason.
We are empowered by a God that split the Red Sea,
Saved people from fire
Had the courage to sacrifice his only Son for our salvation
So grab your canes aka iPads and do better than meeting the black eyed peas halfway.
Go get you a Sheep!!

They Left so Abruptly

They Left so Abruptly

(for the countless South Africans, of all colours, who dedicated their lives for freedom and democracy)

the valiant ones
countless
many known
many more nameless

the truest sons and singers
husbands and poets
lovers and wives
daughters and farmers
workers and sisters
brothers and friends

they left so abruptly
with quiet pride
steely courage
gentle dignity

they left so abruptly
leaving us our tomorrows
brighter
hopeful
filled with promise

they left so abruptly
so that we may breathe
the breath of liberty
the air of freedom
the warmth of justice

they left so abruptly
leaving with us their parting gift

freedom
inkululeko
swatantrata
liberte
azadi
vhudilangi
libertad

they left so abruptly
yet we remember them all
today
in the days that slipped away
and in the many more that we await

they left so abruptly
yet they remain
hewed into our memories
etched in our consciences
engraved in our hearts
they left so abruptly
and yet they endure
with us
within us
now and forever more

Dedication To

Written by: Rudyard Kipling

 If..

If you can keep your head when all about you
 Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too:
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated don't give way to hating,
 And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;

 If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim,
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same:.
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
 And stoop and build'em up with worn-out tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings,
And never breathe a word about your loss:
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much:
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

This is the poem I love most, admire most and try to live by the most..
It's author not only a hero, an honorable man but also a poet/author of
 great fame.
I hope you enjoyed reading it

My dedication to Kipling in poetic rhyme,

I try to stand tall and measure up
 to principles honorable and strong
Be generous in filling others cups
 dedicated in helping others along
Firm in support and sacrificing too
a standard I have gotten from you!

Respect Comes with Age

My father and my mother sat me down one day
to tell me how wonderful that I was growing O.K.
The years passes by as I got to be a teenager
with high hopes of becoming the first young manager
Life turns out a manager job is not for me
so I kept things to a minimum working hard you see
My family had taught me with all do respect
the life we lead is the image of our age in an aspect
Like queens and kings we bow our head
to the people who is wiser in age even when dead
Life as our guide the time we have aged
is what we leave behind that we are gaged
In prospective we are the stars and we are the earth
because we age and leave behind a new birth
To those that seek such blessing of heart
remember this age is respect for living from the start
Do you remember your father, mother, and teachers
they are the ones cheering you on, sitting on those bleachers

Le Vacance Pretentieuse: Tipping

Gracious smiles, a waiter waiting.
The service: quite nice actually.
The drinks cool and food sating
My average appetite factually;

Who knew they had coca cola here
In the middle of the desert... odd
Isn’t it? I ordered water and beer
And here arrives our saviour, god

And leader, dressed in a brown
Shirt despite the pre-mentioned
Heat. He never wears a frown,
Even at rush hour not tensioned.

7.30 comes and goes, morning
Or night, we arrive, are seated
And eat. The waiter is fawning
But nice, the food is all treated

And we eat it all up, fulfilled by
A fountain of beverages he will
Provide. Full, we give a goodbye,
And place tips away from the till

So the manager cannot see, risky
Business. But how to divide the
Cost? Calculators grant only frisky
Fractions, I only had a mint tea!

More Than a Prose

illusions are fooling him on his deeds
And so he thought he's sounded, so well equipped
So silly, an insolent his brain has beeped.

On this singular thought, if real; he isn't meant to lead.

Behold escalating wisdom in this rhythmic voice
Perhaps he will find in it, a recipe for life.

Although, he is among man known by all the world-noise
-A locust of diamond, bronze, silver and gold.

This moment must welcome the truth to be told.

Has he ever believes in his words
Or ever confides in his pen?
Not at all, he believes in his sword
Or more than this; the belief is in his den.

So said chorus is more than the familiar tone
It is similar in kind but not in depth
From the cap to the shoe will give testimony.

But a must parable for a brilliant mind
And not for a bimbo at loose ends.

This moment needs rest from the day's grind.

He is ready to dance to the subtle silence
And figure out the prowess in the solitary hunt
His soul is safe and sound to the diligence
And his heart is kindly calm to the front.

While in bed, he erect to his vision.

An account he’d thought was so sound
Now reveals to him a graveyard consternations
And he rise against those mysteries abound.

" Experience, Life's Greatest Teacher"

 Determination to succeed it's mission,
that it has now chosen for itself,
the ruthless fight of recognition,
remembered by all who has ever felt.

Felt in a way by comparison to none,
this is the only non-physical life source,
resurrecting the greatfulness of some,
though others arent granted these life's doors.

Fables exagerated on this very subject,
with listeners warned of its thorns,
how each one hurts in a different way,
and the pain of a heart torn.

The most misunderstood teacher of life,
which holds 1st place for best and worst,
I've learned form this teacher most wise,
you choose if it's a blessing or a curse.

This teacher I speak of cannot be seen,
but is felt by all that breath air's essence,
I speak of the greatest teacher to me,
all what I've learned , I have from "EXPERIENCE".

a life changing invitation

how many of us are afraid to be stuck in the same place?
to feel like you're running a one man relay race
when will the change happen? when will you be able to move on?
how do you find that perfect peace on your life's horizon?

Jesus of Christ simply said, "come unto Me"
submit to Me and I will set your soul free
I will offer you a life changing transformation
I will issue you an invite to receive eternal salvation
I will be the vine with roots anchored deep
you will be My branches to bear fruit oh so sweet
I am the way to having your soul become healed
just treat Me as a partner and not a third wheel

I will reward you if you just seek Me out
I will bless and anoint you with nary a doubt
for with Me each and everything is surely possible
just have belief and true faith in My living gospel
all things will come together and work out in your life
all you have to do is come to Me, the Lord Jesus Christ
It's time that we develop a relationship based on trust
for trust will be the super glue that will keep binding us
come unto the faith and simply trust in Me
and you will find a purpose in life, your true destiny

don't put your trust in the hands of men for men will always fall down
look to Me and My Father and with the Holy Spirit you will be found
as the master is the teacher and the teacher is the servant
acquiesce to My Father's commands and get what you're deserving
for life is a journey that's full of trials and tribulations
submit and commit to God's doctrine, it's a solid foundation
let Me give you the desires that are in your heart
pray to Me daily and meditate on the word of My Father God
I Am your battle fighter, the Prince of Peace and your salvation
your Deliverer, the Messiah, I AM My Father's manifestation
as the road of life can be weary and full of trepidation
come to Me, Jesus Christ and get a life changing invitation

Ms. Jenny

chester sat in the second row
every day at his school
no one asked, no one knows
but yet the kids were cruel
Ms. Jenny had a simple task
to teach by the book
but chester never seem to pass
so she took a deeper look
his momma died with little sign
he only had rags to wear
for daddy worked at the five and dime
with no money left to spare

at christmas in the classroom
what pretty gifts they gave her
chester found his mom's perfume
and wrapped it in toilet paper
the bottle wasn't full its true
her heart just couldn't believe
but chester smiled, because he knew
it was the best Ms. Jenny recieved
days went by and Ms. Jenny tried
to come up with a clue
and many nights she sat and cried
she knew what she had to do

after school she took the time
to teach him life is tough
that he could be God's best design
if he applied himself enough
years went by and things got better
than they ever were before
Ms. Jenny found a special note
slipped under her classroom door
"thank you for the faith you gave
when my life was dark and sad
I told my mother at her grave
your the best teacher i ever had"

As the tears streamed down her face
Ms. Jenny already knew
that showing love could not replace
what the books in school teach you
years went by and things still better
than they ever were before
Ms. Jenny found another note
slipped under her classroom door
"I'm getting married to this girl, you see
somehow I know you'd care
please come and sit where my mother can't be
I know she'd want you there"

The day arrived, the crowd was set
as chester paced the floor
and then a sight he'll never forget
when Ms. Jenny walked through the door
her simple smell filled the room
a fragrance like no other
chester was the proudest groom
to see his "stand in" mother
it was never easy to understand
the steps we all should trace
but Ms. Jenny knew this young man
had finally found his place

so much time she gave in tears
encouragement that made him strong
but time is limited on earth by years
and now Ms. Jenny is gone
before they closed the casket he cried
then on the pillow by her head
one final note he left inside
and this is what it said
"God sent you here to rescue me
from a life that was doomed and sad
and though I'll miss you terribly
you were the best teacher I ever had".

The Teacher

The dreamer just sat in the corner
As the life and soul glided by
And the teacher looked on thinking
About a thousand questions, why?
And the answers he couldn’t put into words
Though he knew he needed to try

For the thing that came to inspire him,
Which had struck with considerable force,
Was the sudden understanding
Of the power of positive thought
And the need to let it be known to all
Now this was the lesson he taught…

The dreamer spent all his life dreaming
Dreams filled with a positive charge
Wishing he could actually live his dreams
But held back by a negative veil
A barrier he had built up around him
That made sure he would definitely fail

The life and soul had a public face
Inflated by positive ions and grace
Wishing his private life were as good
But held back by a powerful negative tale
A story he’d built to impress the world
That made certain he’d appear not to fail

But the teacher just simply remembered
Each and every one of his dreams
And how he had dared to live them
That it’s not as hard as it seems
And the only difficult step to take
Is the first; then you follow the stream

In following the stream you will quickly find
That your positive energy will rapidly bind
The resources required to design and to build
The plan to ensure that your dream is fulfilled
You will never be missing the things that you need
And all will conspire to help you succeed
