   twisted shadows creep
into yards and fertile minds…
   autumn moon on trees

Halloween Haiku

Triple Haiku
5,7,5 -- 5,7,5 -- 5,7,5

Evil brews, no rules,
looming witches ride their brooms,
demon eyed ghouls drool.

Potions have been brewed,
voodoo dolls alter my mood.
Serial killers.

Vampires, Ware-wolves,
Kruger and Micheal Meyers,
stalking to retire..

Halloween Haiku

The devil trembles
Feeling the autumn wind's rage
Children eat candy

Red mask covers eyes
Blind to first fall carnival
Her pockets picked clean

Nevermore lovers
Halloween murders-blood found

Halloween Haiku

Carving to free souls
night before all Hallows Day
tradition they prey

Scarce candy in bowls
night of fright or time to say
a treat or foul play

Halloween Haiku

Halloween Haiku (the forest recalls) spirits awaken orange glow before nightfall. . . . All Hallow Eve dawns the forest recalls screams of caged men burned in fires. . . . a druid’s dark sky the lord of the dead lingers in woods’ memory. . . . a lone owl’s strange hoot reaching for moon black barbed spindly arms outstretched. . . . The worshiping trees crescent moon upturned a faceless pale entity. . . . *Sanheim grins down *Sanheim was the Celtic Lord of the Dead, for whom human sacrifices were made to make amends for sins of the evil dead. All Hallow Eve took place the night before their new year, when Sun was worshiped on the next day. For PD's HALLOWEEN HAIKU Poetry Contest

- Haiku X 65 - Bloody Halloween -

Hunt fresh virgin blood
This evening will be your fate
Captured by vampires

Death decide tonight
Lust and ravenous hunger
Fear of our graveyard

Drink blood like old wine
Surrender your soul to death
Final kiss bloody

"Halloween Babes"

“Halloween Babes”

Innocent Angels
Prowl darken streets, seek sweet treats
Human evil seeks…

This pure Love of heart
Unaware what evil lurks
In human dark souls…

Just another child
Bites the dust of human lust’s
Illusions of ghouls…

The perspective of a Halloween candle....

Bright, orange, white, flicker.....
Two black eyes, one dark mouth viewed,
I'm the flame inside

They trim the flesh out
Stubby children's hands; entrails
I'm the flame inside

My face-like windows
My removable roof-top
I'm the flame inside

autumn, change, death, halloween, moon, morning, red,

Three Haiku poems on October for contest

October skies bite
Northern winds lay frost tonight
Hoar covered meadows

Cold short daylight hours
The month of October brings
Reigns before snow fall.

Night skies tinted all red
October month turns over
Harvest moon is out

None Return

 Beware the old witch
as you go trick or treating
She can hypnotize
House on the corner
where the old witch lives, tempts some
to take one last dare

 Then one by one they
ring the bell, but none return
 to tell the tale

 Just screams of horror
are what's heard, as cauldron boils
on Halloween night

Hallow-weenie night
Filled with dreadful scary fright
Creatures in the dark

Pumpkins carved and lit
Yellow glow casts eerie spells
Zombies walk tonight

Kids tempt dreadful fate
Spooky mask hides smiling face
Shadows jumping-Boo!

Halloween Haiku (for Linda-Marie the sweetheart of P.S.'s contest)

Halloween Haiku

Suburban parade:
A night to transform yourself,
and beg without shame.

Subsequent morning:
Pillowcases wear make up-
Wrappers and trinkets.

The Thanksgiving porch:
Mouth with one neglected tooth-
The jack-o-lantern.
