Liquid Heaven

A feast for my womanly inner beast!
I tease, I please, you have me on my knees
I wring my hands, you oint my head
With your fingers locked in my hair of red
You -I call Master!
Begging for forgiveness, in a position of love
My words are bashing with one stuttering sound
Moaning & Moaning,
As you make my head spin like a merry-go-round
Craving for you to unleash a liquid heaven sound

My body speaks and mumbles a language meant for you
A touch of intimacy, that lathers up like liquid glue
Sticky but, yet so compelling
My tongue slips silent beloved words of joy into the air
You play the master of this dark solid room
This dungeon's all I consume
You engage me, to provoke you with everything I got
Yelling, please master don't ever stop!
At this moment, I yearn for excitement
To feel the arousing sensation of your presence
That melts me and chill me with a flow that does not kill
I'm your thinker
Your muse and poet
You are my composer creating liquid tunes
Come here and expresses the hardness of your boldness

I confess to you my love
You are all I'm dreaming of
You drive your hands all over
Reaching every steamy spot
Encourage me to stimulate your mental needs
You are the master withholding a liquid element
In me, you release fluids that hit like a silent tide
A desire that comes with a full force of the fire inside
I crave for the taste of your lips
Your hands on my hips
Your fingers with a tight sensual grip
I dedicate my heart and my lust
To get lost within every push of your trust
Like a treasure deep underneath the sand
I'm addicted to the feelings of your command
Your hazel eyes are the sunrise
You bring out the obsession,
And my sweet tooth temptation
Like the moon above a misty night
Seducing me in every way in a poetic write
Your liquid heaven is the beginning-
-Of my delicious delight!

Ice Cream

''Loving Ice Cream''

Having ice cream with you.
Relives the entire portrait in my youth.
Like catnip for a cat, the Reese's fun never stops.
Like monkeys in a zoo, one taste climbs above sherbet treetops.

Ice Cream with you,
How sweet the imagery of 31 different treats
Placid lights topped with peaches in amaretto slushy sauce
Dandelion haven above a marshmallow rocky road
Fireflies flicker around the yummy fresh Lemon Drop Sky
A delightful sundae breeze on the tip of my tongue
Soft frozen chocolate dessert, nothing can go wrong

Ice Cream with You
So many to choose from,
Relish the delicious flavor of Butterscotch homemade rum
There's no other place I'd rather be
Lost Inside this forever hazel green scenery and mint sticks of joy
The ultimate indulgence originates in one icy bite
A creamy coconut cherry delight -served on the side with apple pie
In a cup, on a cone, you my vanilla waffle boy
Everything-- about-- you-- roams free like tubs of ice cream dreams

Listen to the soft sprinkles of cinnamon sound
The happy feeling that melts when you're around
I'm taking a giant scoop of Ice Cream from your heart
Adoring and Embracing Life
Every time you say the words
...I love you...

Eyes of Kaleidoscope

Kaleidoscope eyes

A world of change
Round and round
My heart of envy and gold,
The birth of a new stone
Hazel room, vibrant lilac sky,
Deep orange haze in a warm place
Arms of sapphire and cornflower blue
Fuchsia beauty drip
All colors drift
The day we met
Visions of dark slate-gray
Fading away
Lighting the new age gem
Turning and creating different stars
Magic mint skies
White antique petals follow the wind
Opal dreams, clouds embedded with impurity
My heartbeat produces flashing colors
The palest amethyst bluebonnet forever fields
Flawless tear drop streams
Diamond shaped love
Ruby red promises to keep
Falling into the deep
Every color spins new
The day I fell in love with you
Peridot lime green shade
A love as old and gray
Olive brownish sun
Honeydew skin
Our future clear as aquamarine
Every day you turn fresh new seasons in me
Changing the sequence in my colors and event
Kaleidoscope Eyes
Reflected by the mirrors of you
Crystallizing everything

As I gaze into indigo skies,
Stars are brighter tonight,
Twinkling in the darkness
Of a new moon.
Orion's belt enchants
My impassioned heart
As my thoughts of you soar
In a dimension devoid
Of Time's constraints.
Let me feel the warmth of your
Strong arms wrapped 'round me
As we breathe in the scent
Of night blooming jasmine.
You are my summer nights—
In my dreams of us
On cool cotton sheets
While Bach serenades us in
Rainbows of ribbons~
In a symphony of sounds~
Your skin glistens,
And I am lost in love.

(French translation)

Comme j'ai regarder dans le ciel indigo,
Les étoiles sont plus lumineux, ce soir,
Scintillant dans l'obscurité
D'une nouvelle lune.
Ceinture d'Orion enchante
Mon coeur passionné
Comme mes pensées de vous atteindre
Dans une dimension dépourvue
Des contraintes de temps.
Je voudrais sentir la chaleur de votre
Bras forts enveloppés "autour de moi
Que nous respirons le parfum
Fleur Jasmin de nuit.
Vous êtes mes nuits d'été--
Dans mes rêves de nous
Sur des draps en coton cool
Bien que Bach sérénades nous dans un
Arc en ciel de rubans ~
Dans une symphonie de sons ~
Votre peau scintille,
Et je suis perdu dans l'amour.

My Cat

I love my cat.

She has 4 legs

and a tail

and nice ears

and a cute little nose.

She is gray with black stripes.

Her eyes are kinda green

kinda yellow.

I don't know what colour this is?

Her name is Bast.

This is the name of a very pretty cat goddess

who lives where the pyramids grew.

When my cat is happy she purrs.

So do I.

My cat is soft and warm.

My cat likes to eat food.

Right now I am feeding her special food for young cats.

She likes this better than the last stuff.

She eats all day long.

I do too.

If I become fat

or she becomes fat

I will cut down on our food.

My cat also likes to drink water.

So do I.

I got rid of her cat bowls.

Now she uses the same bowls I do.

I think this makes her feel extra special.

When my cat wants to play outside

she meows and scratches at the door.

This is how I know if she wants to play outside.

My cat poops in the neighbour's yard

so I don't have to clean her litter box too much.

I love my cat.

If I was a cat I would marry her.

We could have a honeymoon in the park.

I would dance around

and watch her climb trees.

At night my cat sleeps on top of me.

If she moves around too much

she wakes me up.

This makes me mad.

But she doesn't care.

She just looks at me.

And looks at me.

Then waits for me to fall back asleep

so she can sleep on top of me some more.

But I still love my cat.

Very much.

Even if she makes me mad sometimes.

But only now and then.

She creates far more happiness than anger.

I suppose this is how it is for some married couples?

Cats are great.

I wish more people had a cat like mine

because then everyone else would be happy just like me.

One great big happy world

filled with peaceful thoughts instead of so much pain and war.

I hope she lives a long time.

When she dies I will get another cat

because they are so nice.

And when I die

I will meet all of my cats

up in heaven.

I love my cat.

And she loves me.

Jewelry Notebook

"MARRY ME" -- The Sweethearts Valentine Candy

I write with passion in every line,
A poet bleeding words, in black and white

Elegant, like a fine glass of red wine.
Pearly paper I unwrap the magazine
I switch the lights to read
Gently I kiss you on the cheek
Tonight my diary reads, LOVE

I walked away, bathing for the night
A beautiful purple Amethyst diary on the nightstand.

The unthinkable; -O' you opened to read

Page 1 - 50 dramatic, and set
You skipped on over to the day we met.

Page 88
Once I was lost in the twilight
Then I magically found a box of invisible light
There you stood like a diamond ring;
Suddenly my heart began to sing
Your love was more than the beauty that spawned from your soul
Fair and cold like winter blues
January stars following my every move
I treasure every moment we spend like my mother’s cameo
I lifted our memories and time framed them like yesterday
A vintage picture, no one can erase or take away.

Page 55
You skipped back and, opened a page that spoke about my broken dreams.

Page 66
Smeared cobalt words in every line (CRYING)

Page 77
Sapphire Glamour of fancy words
Phrased that I finally found my amulet
He will protect me with unspeakable powers.

Page 99
Moonstone & Opal = 4ever
My white shiny Pearl, listen to me whatever

SLAMMING the diary shut!!
A piece of paper fell, and you bent over to pick it up.

Your heart skips ---- (when you read your name)

Dear Diary!
The roads ahead are full of bumps and screams.
I will continue to open every door until I find my dreams.
My sweetest love, soon will come,
May he never dares to change me like the seasons.
My sweetest love, soon will come
Together well enjoy life and respect its reasons.
A sexy man!!
Will come and intrude the glossary of my life!
My sweetest love, soon will come
One day to make me his wife
Today I will write and smile about love

Page 111
I have no shame in asking the man who stops
By to sneak a peek and read my diary once a week
Will You MARRY ME????

Happiness costs nothing

Let go of all the worries in your mind
Be free from the melancholy chains of life
Admire the wonders around you and smile
Feel the joy of the sun, the moon and the stars
Lift your spirits and revel in the exuberance of life
Sleep under a million stars and watch the sun rise
Feel the ecstasy of your lovers embrace and kiss
See how the child's innocent eyes glow with delight
Lose yourself in magnificent scenery,
dance like nobody is watching or judging
Happiness costs nothing and is an addictive sensation,
so intoxicate yourself with laughter and be happy 8 September 2015 Casarah Nance's get happy 101 contest

Pretty Flower in the Deep woods

VINEYARDS of HAPPINESS --------------------- GARDEN of SORROW

There is no greater Happiness,-----------when-----------Pulling away sorrow
then being in my lover's arms,-------letting go of----Broken memories
Kissed by his hungry lips,-------------------------------Rejecting all hunger, of love
spoiled by his sweetest charms.-----------------------The surface spoiled look in his face

There is no greater Happiness,------------------------Holding the depth of solitary sorrow
feeling my love's warm embrace,-----------------------Feelings of cold,no emotions on Gods grace
Meeting in our secret GARDEN,-----------------------Prolonging the visit to our VINEYARD
Opening dreams' golden gates.------------------------the door you open leads into dark woods

There is no greater Happiness,-------------------------Reviving every motion of sorrow
and there 'll never be ,for me,----------------------------trapped forever inside of me
till that far promised day,------------------------------------Broken promises day by day
My Honey love s' here with me.------------------------a wound so fresh, damaged like a twig

            HAPPINESS -------------------------to-------------------- SADNESS

Happiness to me,is as easy as can be,----------------Sadness triumphs over anything in me
a doughnut,a cup of English Tetley tea.------some nights----------A bucket of ice cream,a bottle of Jack Daniel
Lying on my beige leather sofa,------------some days-------------Slouching up against the wall
Covered by a Woolen red tartan rug,------------- tears fallen like a red river on the carpet
Hugging and Kissing,Fondling and snogging,--- some mornings ---Crying and Weeping,Wiping the Sobbing
Just watching T.V.------------------------------------------Just imaging you

         THE  ROSE===============================WITHER

Love is a Pink Rose,--------------------------------------------A rose in the dark woods
with a crown of thick Grey thorns,--------------------------Like a cloud following you
delicate and strong.-----------------------------------------------Tilting till its gone

Sharon Weimer

Though we’ve never met
I comprehend your beautiful words
I feel your pleasant persona
Never a mean word to be said
I ache from your kindness
Making others feel ten feet tall
Picking me up when I may fall
Talent beyond compare
Are you brunette or fair?
But that wouldn’t matter to me
If I never had the chance to see you face to face
Your wonderful personality I could never forget
You’ve help build a community of friends
Steady and true
I wish you peaceful skies of cobalt blue
Fields of flowers brushed in rainbow colors
I pray for love from God above
For you and your family beloved
Know that you touched lives that may not have been touched
You changed someone
And brought me a new reason to write
You’re an inspiration and a friend
And you’ve touched my heart polite
Gratitude pours forth

Paranoid love

Tell me that this fear is just paranoia in my mind,
we're not straining, we're not struggling,
we're not sinking, we're just fine.
I'm not perfect my dearest, but damn have I tried,
and I'll try harder but I know I'll have the same results every time.
Do you want me all the ways that I am?
With all the struggles and the tears and the clinging to your hand.
I fear your getting further and Im left on the shore to stand,
watching you in the distance with a bullet in my hand.
Tell me all this worry, its just clutter in my mind,
tell me not to worry that we're doing just fine.
Cause Im scared to run you off and I feel Im falling deep.
And Im so frightened of these thoughts that its getting hard to sleep.
All I know is that the heart wants what it desires,
because of you the match inside has turned into a fire.
And I feel the broken glass thats sticking from my skin,
Wondering if you'll remove the pain or push it back in.
My hearts frantic wondering if you feel the same,
pleading and begging for more than just a saying,
but to feel and to see that im not alone,
with being in this love thats overwhelming.
Once I told you that we didnt have a spark,
but you were lighting up and I was sitting in the dark.
And this fire, this blaze its wrapped in desire.
Im terrified to lose you, I think I might die or,
maybe disappear from all the pieces falling out,
im going crazy but when i open my mouth, nothing comes out,
and I cant explain to you why I just need to hold you close,
why every time you leave Im scared to let you go,
why these tears are building up behind my eyes,
all I know is that the heart wants what it desires
and it desires to be your wife.
So tell me in my panic, that your words are true,
tell my my dearest what I mean to you,
tell me that this paranoia is all within my mind
we're not struggling, we're not sinking tell me we're just fine

- Precious Gold Drops -

Light falls down from the summer's sheer clouds
For the future no gates remain locked, spread your wings

A bird in the sky your soul flies free intoxicating spirits
Upon loves beautiful ray of light drunken wavers

Not dwelling on the past and using energy on what went wrong
Happy people get feelings out done and dusted

Awakening flames dancing butterflies flutter
Warm inner wings a heart takes glorious flight

Brilliance of a rainbow seducing thoughts softly whisper
Life's worth it's weight in gold, why hesitate ?

Inside the mirrors always aglow
Beauty's in the eyes forever one bows and beholds

Her Wonderland

Early rain falls gently like his fingers running softly through her tousled hair The wind breathes lightly like his lips treading velvets on her cheek, along her neck and across her peach-creamed skin so fair She dances, she sings by the cabin down the valley She feeds little birds and keeps on humming merrily Pansies sway in silence as she walks down the lane She strolls over the bridge then cross it back again She watches the Tuscan sun set down beyond the prarie She lays in verdant fields and dreams of the lost fairy With noisette eyes so full of love She follows fluttering wings of tiny fire-flies which glisten in night sky like little lantern lights Through fragrant vine-yards She runs and tastes blushed-scents of wine She journeys through distance through moments,n memory of time She holds on to a star to the edge of glowing moons She reaches the oasis beyond the desert dunes She reaches to the dark woods to the still sound of his cry She let hm see her magic where freedom's kite soar high She enters in the universe of his thoughts soft 'tender part to the cascading passion in the alley of his heart

Stepping lightly

Beneath the passage of the sun I surrender thoughts to a mindless haze and turn my eyes around to gaze upon the wave of rolling hills, where tender grass is ever growing-- Where cattle graze, with sounds of lowing among the fragrant flowers, wild I will smile and play, just like a child.. and will try my best, with careful step to crush not life, not even one... For in the blades of tender grass that turns to gold upon the fall are villages, in burrows small Their lives must count, both great and small, where smallest ants cast long dark shadows, and workers strive to build a shelter Each precious life, that forges hallows are made by God, forever hallowed I will smile and play, just like a child.. and will try my best, with careful step to crush no life, not even one...

Tender Conversation

She curled up with me on the bed, and laughed insanely
I looked at her in marvel, wondering what on earth had gotten into her
“Why are you laughing?” I asked my eyes wide in surprise.
She giggled, and wrapped her arm around me playfully…
“You and I…we’re just so different…how can you be so preserved?
How can you be so calm, when the world begs for your bite?
How can you not wriggle your toes when he teases your heart?
Do you not see he has fallen so in love with you?
How can you not tell him? Relish him? Hold him?
You’re so coy…so thoughtful….talented….so beautiful,
And yet you do not see you can have it all,
You can have him as your own,
You can kiss him, feel him, and melt in his embrace,
Knowing that you are worth everything to him…
Yet, here you are, with me,
Sitting so, in your dark contemplations…rattling for life’s pumping purpose
With this silly, simple, raunchy, cackling little thing…
Rooting you on….griping for your successes…”

I looked at her lovingly, leaning into her sudden strange hold
“We are different…and that is what I love about us,” I said softly,
Looking up at the ceiling, then out the window for no particular reason…
I guess in my silence, being me I wanted to look mysterious,
Wanted to wrestle with her brain a little
“I am never calm…for in our world, we feed on not exactly knowing,
He surrounds my mind and soul with seductive kisses,
Not from those heavenly lips of his, but from his very soul…
I talk to him him in riddles, not from my tongue, but with my life
I hold him high, not with my hands, but with my affectionate gaze…
In those moments, everything is neither his nor mine…
We need nothing but that reassurance….that acceptance….it is so rare it makes me rattle….
Because…that is life’s purpose, right there, in that ecstasy of soaring psyche…
In that spark of fondness, where our very hearts pump permission to ascend…”

She smiled, almost sadly, gazing where I now gazed…
“I love the words you speak,
I only wish I can see it through your eyes,
I am so simple…so dull….
If only I can feel the way you feel,
Write the way you write…
Would I be happier, as I seize life,
Or if I allowed life to seize me?”

“These words, they are yours, my friend…
As long as you exist in the divine luck of living, you will feel such reverie
Beyond the wistful want of touch, taste, and smell…
Beyond the grand grip of what brings you most joy…
Life will flow brazenly in your grasp, without need of seizing
Without a squeeze or a forceful grab for more…
He will be yours….and this will make you glow so beautifully…
You are much more than you give yourself credit for….
And, by the way, no simpleton cackles like a maniac…
And no maniac is ever dull…”

She chortled, smacking my arm, as we lay back against the single bed
And she fell asleep right there, with a smile on her face
Drifting into dreams… the tender conversation that leads to discovery

Thank's Soupland

Sunday morning coffee
attracted to this screen
soupland is my toffee
my java needs no cream

Where we all chew on our pencil's
our pen's no longer quill's
we hack this keyboard wonder
exciting mental thrill's

We read eachothers thought's
emotions never drought
constant rain,a train of verse
I find myself immersed

Sharing our complaints and want's
but never do we point or taunt
we may occasion disagree
but that's what makes you,you,

Freedom of expression
with a touch of cool discretion
allows this site for us to write
feeling neither wrong nor right

I enjoy my time spent sharing
even if it might be much
but if I might be daring
on subject's lightly touched

So to all my friends at soupland
I say thank you,extended hand
a place where we grow together
and weather this world's whatever's......

My butt crack

My butt crack
Is quite a split
It supports the rest of me
when I sit
you thought I was gonna say something else didn't you ?

My butt crack
Is a marvel to behold
It was cute when I was young
but now offensive since I'm old

My butt crack
Is pretty darn straight
can you imagine if it was crooked
pretty weird sight I would rate

My butt crack
Is funny to me
when I bend over in my jeans
It peeks out
for you to see

My butt crack
wanted me to write this today
for no other reason
then just to say......................

I gotta split

You're Smurfing Smurfilicious

....think eye am going to take the age-old, more direct approach of,

"Do you want to smurf?"

There's a lot of good to be said 'bout smurfiquette,
marriage before smurfing,
the intricate games that can be played,
but a lot of the time, people just wanna smurf,
test-drive the smurfandise;
and by not being direct enough,
a lot of possibly wholesome smurfing never smurfs itself into smurfeation.

It can't hurt to try?

You're so smurfing smurf,
your smurf is smurfilicious!
Right now eye can't imagine a smurfing better fit,
eye want to drink you like smurf-berry juice.
Have eye ever told you how you're a smurfing Goddess?

For all that it's worf,
eye believe we were put upon this earf,
so the two of us can get down, get dirty, and smurf!

Just like Papa Smurf Reznor said:

"Eye want to smurf you like an animal,
feel you from the inside,
you smurfing bring me closer to God."

Fra la lalalala la la la lala la,
fra la lalalala la la la lala laaaaAAAAHHHHHHHH!

Let's smurf like there's no smurfing tomorrow,
as if there's no time left to borrow.

So, what do you say?

You want to smurf?

Beauty in my Palm

You are the wild flower in my palm
With no stem to keep you anchored to this covetous earth
You are the fragile thing I dare not cup,
As your petals whittle away under the wind
And flit unfettered in the air;
Exaggerated fear leaves my fingers numb
Hungry need leaves my fingers twitching
And my hand is paralyzed by turmoil
As every breath of wind takes another petal from me
And brings to my lungs, my chest and my heart
An overwhelming scent of need-

You are the wild beauty in my palm
And I dare not hold you to my chest
For I fear to crush you
To know first hand
That caged beauty, is beauty no more.

I See You

I see you
Do you see me peeking at you
From behind the rose bush?
Look at your lovely hair - a tousled mess
Those eyes, gleaming in the afternoon sunlight

I pull on your apron strings
Perchance a small smile
Oh no! Not a frown from you

I see you
Did you know that I was watching you
When you were busy making chocolate cake?
Just look at your sweet face
Flour on your nose and cheek

I squeeze your arm tightly
Mayhaps I get the spoon
Thank you for keeping me close

I see you
You don't know that I am looking at you
Wrapped up in your blanket
So cozy and warm - a quiet nod
A peaceful time for you

Can hardly wait for you to waken
I'll find a hiding place
So I can watch again

Yoga in Poem - A novel Approach 01 of Many

Yoga in Poem - A novel attempt 01/ Many YOGA is a priceless gift given by great ancient Indian saints for every human being through Vedas. I am trying to bring one step each week before all my known and unknown friends of Poetry Soup and for other viewers for a glimpse of this treasure of India, which in fact is a gift of Good Health for the entire humanity. Ravindra Meditation Step 01 Meditation remains The essence of healthy living And the most precious Gift given to humans By the Almighty God. We think and think And puzzle our mind With ideas and emotions With worries and Irrelevant thoughts. This goes on in our minds Ever since we find that We have grown-up To know and understand And to behave with The world. But unfortunately From that very time We unknowingly start Worrying also and Sometimes Not only during daytime But even When we are in sleep. This never ending Row of worries and worries only Sometimes for reasons And often without a season Have become a habit To lament On what we have and More on, What we do not have. This constant Lamentation and pondering Brings and form shape A Free Gift for all of us In the form of slow poisoning Which we inhale and drink Every day and every moment When we breathe and talk When we love or walk When we behave and misbehave When we are in a haste and Even when We lie on a cot Or when we fight Without a cause. This constant thinking and Worrying Slowly destroy everything Good and great in our heart Given by the Almighty God. But meditation and Yoga Can restore What we often unknowingly Just throw away By our day and night worrying Which continues When we go to sleep or Are busy in accomplishing our tasks. Meditation and Yoga Can restore What we often unknowingly Have lost By our worries While sleeping and even while Accomplishing our tasks With a gift of better and healthy life. Ravindra Kanpur India 4rd /6th July 2013 To be continued …… NOTE: The series which I am starting today is also a gift for all American friends on their Great of Independence 4th July. My Greetings for all of you. With best wishes…Ravindra
Benefits of Meditation can be seen and noted on the following webpage.

Where Somewhere is Tomorrow

Let me run again, through the tall, amber grass, where sunbeams slope like stairways, and where tomorrow waits, at the top of the stairs.

Sometime, in July's budding charm when the harvest of earth's clay affirms that which exposes a content heart, I remember a glimpse of rare delight accepting the slow exposure of one morn when daylight warms Grandpa’s hands soaked in earthy glow on his farmland. A rumbling wind turns amiable, as bamboo drifts along lush curls glossing the husk of our fond whispers, oh, it is as simple as that: his gaiety becomes an answered prayer tasting the bliss of simple favors bestowed by a yield of cornfields reflecting the thrill of labor harnessed. In a flash, I watch Gramps' hat flying like a kite across a wispy sky, my innocence releases a laughter’s dance playful and blithe at age seven, while he, born from fruits of life ripens still, on his golden year with ease. Stygstrome - Updrafts

"Stygstrome" is the Afrikaans version of "Updrafts", one of my earliest poems (including some showcased naivety :D), and is the first poem that I ever publicly posted online, right here on, 3 years ago to the very day.

I am also including the English version to this post.

Swart vere absorbeer altyd
die meeste sonskyn -
'n Volmaakte fusie
van donker en lig.

Ebbe oë glinster
hoog in die kalm, koue hemelruim.

'n Vinnige daling
tot vlerkpunte
sagkuns soen,
die byna onsigbare
boom-toppe deurdring
digte Winter se mistigheid.

Sterk strome strik skielik,
'n Voël van staal
donder oorhoofs,
breek die antieke fokus
met sy dreunende, magtige brul.

Herwin gedagtes.

Stryk neer,
in 'n stygende vlug
van suiwer vergenoegdheid.

Swart vere absorbeer altyd
die meeste lig --

Black feathers always absorb
the most sunshine -
a perfect fusion
of dark and light.

Ebony eyes glitter
high in the calm, cold sky.

A quick dip downwards,
until wing-tips
gently kiss
the nearly invisible
tree-tops piercing
thick Winter's fog.

As currents suddenly catch hard,
a bird of steel
thunders by overhead,
breaking ancient focus
with its loud, powerful roar.

Regain thought.

in a flight
of pure contentment.

Black feathers always absorb
the most light.

*A warm thank you to the ever-lovely Christine Ueri for finding
the perfect Afrikaans words to poetically translate this poem.

Sitting In My Deck Chair

The pale face of nature, of flowers and treetops
Has been lost without color, behind frost in the meadow
Under snow on the fence post, and the ice on the willow

So tattered and bobbing, and weary of hiding
So weary of biding her time in the fog
Tired of the doldrums, tired of the ho-hums , and weary of crying...

The pale face of nature, of gardens in springtime
Will drink in this morning, to find it surprising!
A lekker arrival !!
Of sunkissed horizons
Is blissfully welcomed with gold in the morning
All smitten with cheer !

Trees lean to the side
Drunk on the sun
Lifting their branches
And keeping it near

I long for it too
As I move out my chair
From under the shade
To drink in the sun
After dark winter days
To welcome it here

A lekker arrival
Is speckled in sunshine
I find it to be fine, to bask on my deck!
I'll poke out my neck to soak in the bliss
And what could be better than this? Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Paint me..
a picture of disaster
of Self pity
of little worth

of meaninglessness

on a cornflower blue background
and red brush strokes

signify me..

put me on canvas
on display
for all to see and

because even
free wine and
hors d’oeuvres
will never be

this grand
isn’t for them

or even
for you

I am a masterpiece

Sometimes in June

Sometimes in June

It was a lovely June morning;
Little woolly clouds drifted high up in the sky,
The air was full of sweet scents,
Small groves and groups of trees,
Silence like little lambs.

It was a lovely June morning;
Day had broken,
Cold and gray,
Exceedingly cold and gray,
No sun nor hint of sun,
It was a clear day.

It was a lovely June morning;
I gazed about other creatures in solitary,
An intangible pall over the face of other creatures,
Subtle gloom that surrounded man’s life,
The joyous in the mist of other nature,
Deep thought and tearful happy,
Slowly blush the past event away.

Hush the Stars

-For Justin Bordner’s contest

I long worshiped heartbreak, From afar, often, though through the lenses, ceaselessly… I drew ribbons in the midnight sky with the silken trinkets of sorrow Riding in the dark with the sound of our silent sufferers all around… At times, I would weep at the hum of their distress High above, I would cry out loud, like all the rest… That classic, misery magnet caught in my own spider web My appendages long worn in life’s tethered mess… When unexpectedly, the handsome stars hushed, And this twister that I have become encountered a multihued masterpiece… I caught your crushing colors in my winds of garish web You blended with me cheerfully, enjoying the crucifying climb… Because that is what you do You live to inspire me You live to hush the stars Often, I sneered at the notion of love I would trap the distant idea in my furious swirl… The fires that caught my base would climb so very high, And I would spit them free into the merciful skies… And then I would hear the voices again, louder and louder They had cried so long that they began to cackle in denial…in madness… In wretched whir, in false allure, I would shamefully laugh along Born in the trap where I thought I belong Though, you taught me in venerating verse I was wrong Your colors reflected places in my heart I never knew before... My snares became havens for the lost and scorned Entwining masterfully, you showed me how true love was born... Because that is who you are You saved me in my hateful hour You live to hush the stars How could I have been so lost? Why did I ever lose myself in their sobbing? I love you, my source of light, My source of rain after long-parched night... Has my heart reached the top of my own destruction? Do you see it in your revealing rays? Delighted be, your eyes lifted and met mine as you say, “You were meant to hush the stars You were meant to touch my heart You are everything to me... And now, we are blended, reaching for eternity Just as we ought to be…” I, the tornado of tremor, You the rainbow of radiance, Together blended with the trusting touch of earth, air, wind and fire Through the zooming lenses, in the great mirrors all around I proudly see myself now with your life within me And how beautiful and extraordinary we are together As we aptly ought to be

Happy New Year From The Unicorns

So far I've done everything I could possibly do this year.
I've given thorough thought to cleaning up my act.
These early-day hours have been rough-house
The storm shudders inside me are all grimy, they need tending to,
I just need to find them first.
So tired from last night,
Riding unicorns through the stars.
(No one believes me.)
Trouble is we're all blinking too fast for our own good as it is.
I've done everything I've promised to do this year, so far,
And I haven't even made the promises yet.
That's how interesting I've been lately.
You have no idea how hard it is to be this interesting.
Riding Bellyglow through the thrushes of song birds...
I probably don't know, either.
What a bucket of letters this is.
Thanks for Peking, thanks for Hong Kong.
Happy New Year.
