Leap of Faith

Not long after The Beginning,
There were Animals and there was Man.
A great chasm lay between, that legend said
Only a Leap of Faith could span.

Animals seemed happy on their side;
For, after all, such a leap could not be done
“Make the best it,” they all said;
All, that is, but one.

There stood Dog, alone upon the brink,
The distant Man’s reflection shining in his eyes;
Something was robbing Dog of peace;
Something was urging him to try.

Compelled, he stood and stared,
Nothing could distract his gaze.
Now and then, Horse would come;
Each time, the same old words to say.

“I understand. I really do.
I admit it.  I’ve thought about it too;
But it’s too far for me to jump,
It’s certainly too far for you”.

One day, as Horse spoke his words,
Cat rudely interrupted with a sneer.
“Go ahead and try. You’ll break your silly neck.
You can’t go there. Your place is here”.

More resolute now, his vigil became duty;
Still, he often wondered, “Why?”
But something deep inside kept saying,
“You must. You must. It’s do…or die”.

Then, one day, he turned and walked away.
Oh, yes, he’d need a running start.
He knew now, he had the Will;
But only a Leap of Faith could prove his Heart.

Just before he made his Leap of Faith,
Dog saw the loneliness in Man’s eyes.
“He needs a friend, someone to help
And always stand right by”.

With those unselfish thoughts,
Dog had reason, he felt whole.
And well he should, for at that very moment,
God granted Dog a Soul!

But Souls don’t come so easy,
And his leap was short that day.
If Dog was to make a Leap of Faith,
Man would have the final say.

Dog’s faith was truly tested, front paws upon the edge.
He hoped Man’s eyes hadn’t lied.
Then Man’s Heart swelled and touched his Soul.
He helped Dog up and placed him proudly at his side.

Oh, so jealous was Cat I’m told;
His eyes turned green that day.
“Oh, you are an heroic mutt;
A friend of Man, you say?
I’ll make that leap by myself.
You can bet, I’ll find a way”.

So, Dog had made the Leap of Faith.
He and Man became Best Friends.
So it shall be, for all eternity;
That is to say, until the Very End.

DARE TO INSPIRE

My dreams and desires
Are to write to inspire
I have so much to give
That is my reason to live
Peace always invades my spirit
I’m so glad my soul welcomes it
My compass to my life is lost
I cannot navigate the way home so pen pays the cost
I will always write to find my way
To my God I pray
As the realization dawned on me
When my pen flows I’m free
I can be anybody I want to be
So many of us have to settle for a life of deception
I shall soar beyond this world's limitations
In all things, follow your heart
In life be careful how you walk and talk
Think it, believe it
Don’t hold back do it
Let your dream grow
Please let God take control

Mister Nibbles Ameri-Sonnet

< amidst grass carpet he plays
long ears bushy tail white paws
                        nibbles bulbs munches away
poor little thing had some flaws

                         hides hair braided and despaired
                         didn't stop this little guy
thought to self this wasn't fair
bowed head and started to cry

nectar is what he had sought
                         on this hopeful days journey
not to be trapped or be caught
                         or carted off on gurney

                         Mister Nibbles came to play
                         In garden's bedding today

HOME

Never forget what you have
Your home is your haven and to let your hair down
The love of your home, its the place to be
With the love of all of your family
Home is truly where the heart is
Remember that the work day is done
Never bring home the toils from the day
Relax and have fun that is the way!
When you walk in the door you will see
The smiling faces of your family
Kiss them hello and have a good night
Be aware that the home you have worked so hard for
Is the place to rest and relax and say
I have done all I can for this day is done its with the
Family, wow I am sure gonna have some fun!

Cruel Hearted Greedy People

My animals are like family to me, not just a pet.
My cat is in labor, and she's having issues, so all I can do is fret.

The emergency Vet wants four hundred and fifty dollars!
I don't have it, so she's denied and all I can do is holler.

So what am I supposed to let her sit here and die?
It makes me want to go stab that jerk in his eye!

You should be a Vet because you love animals, not money.
 What's a cat's life to them? I don't think its a damn bit funny.

I mean the economy is low and I'm not asking to do it for free.
Just to let me make payments, how hard can that really be?

Cruel-hearted, greedy people that are ruthless and hollow.
You can bet karma will most definitely linger and follow.

Some people just don't understand, she isn't a cat, she's my baby.
There is a chance she will live, and I hate living on the whim of a "maybe".

What choice do I have? I'll take her to her normal vet tomorrow morning.
If my "daughter' dies, that emergency Vet will need some serious warning.

She's a beautiful feline, with soft fur, half white. half black and stunning.
With God's luck, she'll finish labor and her children will be coming!

EYE Don't See -Part 3-

My eyes
Witness your departure
My eyes
Are dripping with hopelessness…
My eyes start to blur…
Melancholy put me under pressure…
Is there a cure to my disease?

You don’t see
The shards of hope that once brought us back together
Just let me search for safety
I’m strong enough to realize that I’m no longer
The weakest prey out there…

And I’m left in my solitude…
Do you hear me whimpering like a distraught puppy left on the train tracks?

I’m close to my demise…save me and take me home

Nourish me…and be my beloved friend

Will this friendship last forever?

Hopefully it has no end

Will this cheerful moment help us get along with each other?

Because of you…I feel the need to run
I keep an eye on you – I worry that you’ll hurt yourself again
Because of you…My freedom is nearly gone
I don’t wanna be caught off guard again
Because of you…EYE can’t picture a solution for our vexing dilemma
Because of you…eye can’t focus on my long-term goal

And I’m left in my solitude…
Do you sense that I’m giving in to failure?
And I’m close to my demise…
Only to find myself disappear…I can’t endure
The hardships that you place upon me…
Could you boost up my confidence to overcome
My atrocious anxiety?

I’m just waiting for some sun
To keep me in good hands…
To strengthen me with perseverance …
I’m just waiting until His son
Leads the world outtah Egypt and reveals to us…
His radiance…His dazzling Kingdom –
Vibrant with glee

Your undying sympathy dawns upon us
I’m overflowing with indescribable joy
You’re a candle in the night…
We meet eye to eye…
What a sight…what a precious sight

PHLOWERY PHOOLS

         FLOWERY FOOLS

I totally take gardenias for granted
As do I the petulant petunias someone planted
I neither bless nor bow to any bouquet
Nor any overused flowery cliché
I walk by the willows and never weep
And I wish morning glories wouldst, all day, simply stay asleep
No oak is okay with me
And may the graves of those gardenias soon come to be

The rain gives the garden sustenance as does a sunny sky
While I stroll by a stand of birch and wish they all would die
I care not to see a rose arise
But pray the buds bid all goodbyes
I don’t give a damn when a forest is on fire
And I’m telling all you fools someone’s a f*****g liar
For me there is nothing as fabulous as the forest aflame
And the spark t’was Mother Nature, do curse I her name

Grattitude First lesson in Christian Living

Dear little pony, the children’s clown,
Rough mane stands tall, his thick tail tumbles down.
Jiggety, jog. Yes, some riders have frowned.
Dad can ride him with two feet on the ground!

He’s a tough little, nuggety, wonderful chap
Who can live on the roughest of diet mishap.
We don’t feed him oats much, he’ll founder on those,
But if you can ride him you’re right home and hosed!

He’s full of the tricks that intelligence brings.
He’s always a challenge until mummy sings
Out loud, lets him know that he can’t get away
With presenting his backside to children today.

The children must learn how to command him too.
It isn’t the easiest thing they must do,
But they look for the pleasure of riding again,
So they learn how to handle tough diamond disdain.

They must learn how to stop him from racing away
Towards home when his head is turned facing that way.
His mind is on resting with food in his trough,
But his job is to teach, and he does it but tough!

Tough diamond’s a doorway to wonderful thrills
In the glorious world of the horseman’s spills
And great challenges. Once you can master this rascal
Nothing can daunt you. Introductory sample

Of every excitement that riding can offer,
He’s cute, pert, adorable, and he can proffer
Essential abilities. Gratitude is
The gateway to mastery, sire of bliss!

Every offence becomes laughable when
You think back to this tough little customer. Then
Your mind turns to teaching, as Daddy once did.
No more can the mud of offence cause a skid.

You’ll go round it. Or jump it. There’s no need to fall
 When Gratitude’s mastered. Remembering all
Those scuffles you had that your dad helped you through,
You’ll mother, or father, or teach others too.

Rain, The Story

in the midst of a lush meadow
there stands an impressive sight
a slip of a girl on a giant white horse
poised on the verge of flight

poetic in their beauty
they begin to move
and they appear as one
from head to back to hoove

you can see the giant beast
respond to invisible cues
as he begins to accelerate
to a place just out of view

you begin to sense the urgency
as the pair picks up speed
and you watch the desperation
as she pushes the giant steed

faster, just a lil faster
and it will be all right
all the sorrow of reality
is lost in the midst of flight

just a little harder
we're almost at the end
and the beast gives her everything
on him she can depend

the vision on that meadow
is enough to make a soul ache
watching a free spirit
and her horse make their escape

gradually they slow
his coat glistening in the sun
she leans in and hugs him
and thanks him for the run

looking into his deep brown eyes
she whispers her gratitude
stroking his white mane
they begin to walk on cue

slowly they walk the meadow
as desperation evaporates
leaving bewitched bystanders
in awe at the look upon her face

the frantic pace lost
by the run upon her beast
sorrow left in their dust
upon his back she finds her peace

they stop again and she strokes him
with all her aching heart
and knows he's her freedom
protecting her from the start

he nuzzles her soft cheek
as if he understands
and wants her to know
he's home beneath those hands

swiftly as she mounts him
agile and with grace
they begin to walk the meadow
looks of peace upon their faces

as they reach the meadows edge
they begin to fade from sight
the girl on her magnificent white steed
disappearing in the night
