Eternal Everlasting Joy

Sometimes, I think about my life
And the prices I have paid
All the places I have been
The choices I have made

Seems somewhere along the path
I stumbled upon a stone
At that moment I realized
I’d forgotten my way home

My home became a prison cell
My memory was forgotten
My soul was like an egg
An egg that had gone rotten

Sorry I had to go away
You didn’t deserve my shame
I moved very far away
No connection to my name

My life has always been a lie
One I kept hidden from you
When you thought I was in college
Serving time up in the zoo

On the day I was released
You thought I graduated
The moment you were most proud
Another lie to be hated

I have learned it’s never to late
I believe those words are true
Grandma I’m on a mission
I will graduate for you

I really want to earn the pride
You gave me so long ago
I think it will bring some peace
Releasing guilt up in my soul

I’ve learned in the game of life
We must earn our pride
Even if the people are gone
Resting on the other side

I’ve learned in the game of life
Even though they may be hard
Choices aren’t like rolling dice
They're not like flipping cards

Choices define who we are
I know these words are true
Every choice I know make
Are bringing me back home to you

Grandma, I know where heaven is
It’s right here inside my heart
Inside of mine your memory
Until death will never part

During the time I have left
I vow to always let it show
All the seeds you sowed in me
I shall nourish as they grow

In the end I’ll sit with you
Just like when I was a boy
We’ll sing and praise Jesus’ name
With eternal everlasting joy

Eat Pray Love

On the edge
of the evacuation zone
Miyuki holds her daughter
tip-toeing in pink sneakers
her small hands fragile
blossoms opening
to the man with the beeping wand

They were outside in the karesansui
washing and raking
rocks, when the school
heaved, convulsed
then pressed into silence
one-hundred-and-seven
voices rising inside

So now they wait with strangers
in ordered lines of sorrow
for bread and drinking water
as an adolescent, eyes downcast
sees the small pink laces and
offers up his only ration
of precious onigiri

Hooded and white masked they walk
three days and bed-less nights toward
Ishinomaki by the ocean
to family, friends, and home forever
transformed

The landscape jumbles unfamiliar
with plastic wreckage
and automobiles
detritus flooded in a field
where Japonica once grew
while moon-suited men
and women gather
albums for the living

And after sunset Miyuki moves
her little girl away
from a white-taped blue-bagged
lifeless form
toward the humming black-robed Monk, his
prayers for light
and workers burned
exposed to radiation ten
thousand times too high

And in the shadows one old man kneels
beside a fetid pool and scoops
rice to carry back to neighbours
moved to higher ground, un-opens
one last bottled spirit
bows his head and offers
Miyuki and her first and only
everything  he has

At last they reach the shelter’s glow
beneath the starless robe of night
not used to wearing
shoes indoors
Miyuki helps her daughter fold
sheets of painful news into
an origami box to hold
her last and only pair

And in the morning as they face
the stretch of road for home
to unknown love and losses there
they turn and gaze toward the east
awaiting still
spring’s warming breeze
to rise with brilliant red once more
new light of wondrous dawn

      ~~~~~~~~~
'karesansui' is a Japanese rock garden or 'dry landscape'.  Rocks are often washed.
'onigiri' is the emergency rice being distributed to survivors in Japan.
'Japonica' is a type of (short-grained) Japanese rice.
Fill It With Him (Mid Swap)
There is no love, without our God;
Search your heart and home it’s not hard ~
I cannot stay if He’s not there,
A sense of loss would fill the air.
Fill this house with truer faith
Let, our hearts hope in Him always --
He‘ll heal spiritual beggars,
His glory abounds forever…
Search your heart and home it’s not hard ~
There is no love without our God.
Enter, for the kingdom is nigh,
Reach in and ask He’ll not deny.
There are blessings awaiting you,
Hope in Him, and He’ll see you through…
Open your heart, for it is home
Remember God is on the throne ~
When despair strikes – Give it to God,
Search your heart and home it’s not hard ~
My Journey Home
My journey home is closer today,
than it was yesterday.
Someday my heart aches and pain
will pass me by.
My journey home will be a
most beautiful trip,like no one
has ever taken before.
Mother has been waiting for me,
there on those goldend shores,
ever since her parting from this old world
many years ago.
Taking one day at a time,
until I take my
journey home, when I sit down
with my Lord and thank Him
for what he did for me
on Calvary that day so long ago.
Death Of The Saints
A cousin called the other day saying "Another cousin has passed away".
Well my husband said "How old was she.""
"Ninety-eight".
A stalwart woman who had served family and community well. Producing one child that
became a missionary serving in a foreign land..
While talking the cousin asked "Did you know ______"?
My husband answered, "Well, I don't think that I knew them".
The cousin proceeded to tale this story.
"The man had been down with cancer for a while and passed recently..The funeral had been
conducted and the hearse had gone on to the cemetary..The family car with the family was
not to far behind..But when it pulled up, the wife of the deceased did not get out and the
funeral home staff was gathering around..The funeral home director decided to go see what
was going on ...."
The cousin said, " That this funeral home director told him". "That he had been in this
business for thirty-five years and faced something that he had never had happen to him or
any other funeral home director that he knew."
The funeral home director said, "When I got to the family car, I found the wife of the
deceased had passed from a massive corornary."
She had said, "I don't know how I will live without him." She didn't have to learn. God called
her home..
The roosters crow, the crows craw and are answered by the gobble of the turkey across the
way..
It hurt me
Sitting here knowing that you are laying in that bed
Helpless on meds that you dont want to be on
Not knowing were you are
It hurt me to see you that way Mother
Praying to the Lord that you are going to be ok
Praying that he dont take you so soon away
I hate this so much
Seeing you in and out and its nothing I can do
I just wish apon a star
That all your sickness go away
and you dont have to deal with this no more
It sucks spending your Bday in that bed
I pray that that you get better soon
so you can come home
I pray that all this go away and you never have to deal with this any more
No matter what we go though
I only have one mother
and I dont know how I would live my life without you
Please come home and get better
So i can stop this crying
Please all your pain and sickness go away
So I dont have to worry about getting that call oneday
and I am not there by your side
You are my mother and I love you
If you have a mother and you all are not on the best term
Its best to do that soon
Because you never know when they time is up
I love you mother
My one and only Queen
Please get better and come home soon
Cry only for those who cannot hear you
The wind did stir the thought in kind wanting - for if she knew my soul, just a spark
of it, I would be a rich man...
So long this ribbon of love that flows over the rocks of age and distant torment...
The gate keepers sit alone watching, waiting for the violators who dare not call
mundane theirs...
It is those shackles which bind misguided dreams that which make fertile ground for
the barkers at the door, for what else does one need to grey the vision and dull
delight?
You carry the scent of the well-traveled said the withered old man - I too know your
pain, that which comes from never knowing home - those of us who seek blindly
that which the world cannot give - home is not a place but a thought in time and
nothing more than a stop to rest your ambition...
Cry only for only those who cannot hear you, for it is selfish to do otherwise and
seek home in the gentle embraces of those that know you...
Be kind to those who would bite you, for in doing so it will bring light to a dark path...
AND
Always rejoice in life - it pisses them off and helps them to see the tragic flaw of
their diluted beliefs...
Missing You
we missing you already and you have not gone out of the door
it won't be the same just having three at home instead of four
not having you around at quiet time to read Gods' word
not been able to come into your room and pray
you going on a great trip to spend time with God for a few days
to dream the impossible and to see things that will amaze
God will minister to you and he will show you many new things
it will be great the new songs that your heart starts to sings
you wil return home different from when you go
God is the centre of our life
he comes first in all that we do
but you know we still will surley miss you
sun, cloud,  dull hail or storm
God won't fail to help you transform
so have a great trip and  have lots of fun
it will be great for you to see how God makes impossible things be done. Amen.
it will be a long weekend
but we know you will be with a loyal and true friend, God will be with you
have a nice time this weekend James
miss you, Love you. xx
I'm Going Home
,
Lord thank you for this life,
As I have lived a full life,
It was not always as I would have like,
But I lived it to the best of what I could,
I’m going home; Home to the place I want to be,
I’m going home to Jesus where He waits for me,
I have been a long weary believer,
As I’ve been away to long,
I now know what I’ve been searching for,
As He's been there in me all along,
I’m going home; Home is the place I want to be,
I’m going home to Jesus where He waits for me,
I have been and seen lots of places in life’s journey,
Now I yearn for familiar faces in familiar places,
I hear familiar voices calling me to come home,
I see familiar faces looking at me,
I’m going home; Home is the place I want to be,
I’m going home to Jesus where He waits for me,
My time is near, the hour I know not,
I see Jesus' face across the Heaven’s,
I hear His soft sweet voice calling me home,
 I can’t wait for my real life to begin,
I’m going home; Home is the place I want to be,
I’m going home to Jesus where He waits for me.
I Don't Hate America
I Don’t Hate America
I like the country I live in
That doesn’t mean I have to sing their songs
to prove that sh@!.
That doesn't mean that
I can just can’t get over the fact that
they murdered the people who built it
America was dedicated to a proposition that
“all men are created equal, except
for women, indians and blacks
The white men were just fine is what we were told
but what about those who were stolen that never made it over to NEW WORLD?
The ones that were thrown overboard and
those who died from sickness while in transport
Remember those who were born into slavery and never even knew what freedom was before their physical bodies left
and people like Thomas Jefferson
He understood that slavery was wrong but did not free his own until his death
What about those who beaten senseless and burned, and hanged,
All while screaming “Nigger" What’s your new name?
Oh how soon do we forget…
That’s why I despise that word and
I don’t care who it is that uses it
#u$k that slavery sh@!
And #u$k that flag b@%ch!
#u$k you America because you’ve always made things hard .
So don’t look at me strange when I show those songs disregard and those fake ass patriotic undertones about how we are the land of the free
more like the land of the captured and the Home of the Slaves, see
I don’t’ hate America
I can be and do and go as I please
But, then I remember the poor people they injected with disease
They thought they were getting free health care but the doctor is giving them syphilis
Please!
I remember the natives of this land
They slaughtered and labored them to work for freedom in their own land
I remember the Civil War
where we were a country divided by the Mason Dixon Line
The north and the south of the same country at war to save lives
I don’t hate America
This is my home
But I refuse to let the things that
my ancestors endured during the struggle of building SUCH A FINE COUNTRY be forgotten
It’s 2012 and the politicians still plottin to find a way to take away the black vote
It’s the same shit, but now they just don’t use the noose to choke the life out of souls
I’m so tired of the constitution and it’s loop holes, and amendments, and acts, and laws
This just proves that man can’t govern themselves because even with all these rules we constantly fall into the black hole deeper and deeper
I don’t hate America
I just choose to not take part in its little song and dance
I pledge my allegiance to God
and continue to write and lose myself in my poetic trans
I'm Coming Home
He looks through the curtains as the meal is served
The sweat on his brow and the I.V. drips
Mom wears her apron with a picture of a turkey on it
It was her favorite and the music playing
And I'm coming home to where I'm loved
Father sits watching the game as the plate goes round
He had  money on the wrong side but he swigs a beer
Everyone seems happy and content so he knocks on the door
No one hears  and he stirs,trying to break free of the restraints
And I'm coming home to the warmth when I'm cold and alone
Where a man works and his wife cleans and raises the boys
Where desolation has no place to hide and no regret
And Mom hasn't begun drinking because her son left and will never come back
Where the geese still fly South to the warmth
Dogs bark and people have to stand to switch the channel
And I'm coming home
No cell phone or video games to gaze at and 24 hour news
The nurse brings a syringe and plunges it into my I. V.
The Angel wipes my soaking brow and gives me comfort
I'm alone with the mist and the murmur of the crickets
I'm coming home
The house is quiet and emptiness within
But Mom left a light on with expectation
A sign was set for all to know I'm coming
The quiet is lovely and the light welcomes
My Mother Jean, A Maverick
Alberta “Jean,” the different one was she since her birth and among her family. This redhead born of parents with dark hair had felt herself an odd plain duck; in prayer she’d kneel and on her father’s farm was awed by nature. In the fields, she’d pray to God. With fervent adoration for her God, she searched for truth. A maverick was she. She left her parents’ church, for she was awed by teachings not those of her family. The Gospel she discovered through deep prayer dismayed her folks, as had her bright red hair! Upon her birth, because of her red hair, her folks had joked she wasn’t theirs, but God would lead her to a new life. On a prayer, she traveled west. A restless soul was she - the one to leave her home and family to find her niche; by her bold move I’m awed. By all the things she did back then, I’m awed. She joined the Navy. Jean, with bobbed red hair, would meet my dad and start a family. Great trials came to her. She called on God. To go back home then was the answer she was given after long and pleading prayer. She had to leave my dad. I know through prayer this answer came to her. Again I’m awed because with us, her four small daughters, she became a single mom. She wore long hair up in a bun, worked hard, had faith in God, and married someone else with family. Eight children then were in our family. My mother taught her step kids about prayer, affecting all our lives. Her trust in God is never-ending, and we all are awed. . . . She’s 80, widowed, and still has red hair and goes out dancing!! Rare indeed is she! With faith in God, Jean raised a family. No need of fame has she, for she has prayer and grandkids awed now by her still red hair!
* see about poem for more info on Jean *I tried to make this one like a rhyming Sestina. Instead of choosing just any six words to repeat at the end of each line, I decided to use three pairs of words that rhymed with each other. The position of the words changes from stanza to stanza, but I think the rhyming aspect still holds strong.
The Vent
im livin in a world, where all eyes on me.
trying to curve my own route.
but route 66 keeps finding its way to me.
ive been plenty sick, in all the events layed before me.
even when i reflect to my lowest points
i dont regret any of the choices
That I’ve deployed in my era
A lot of it by error, but hey
We live in hell conditions and there ain’t no air condition
Or any guidelines when life throws you in the sidelines
But when hindsight twenty twenty hits
You’ll begin to understand life’s a bunch of equations and you in the mix of it
An you’ll have to think twice, before running into a situation and becoming the best of it
Situations
it’s what got me here, it’s what got us here
Ran with my thoughts blazing up to her place and
Guess what happened next
She opened up heaven’s gate
And just before late I slipped out
Simply put
I’m a Grown ass man
Doin his thing, waitin to blow up like an old land mine
In doin what he drools over
But time after time
Something decides to creep up and cover the light
Lost my way
Then I revoked to ever know, I ever thought that way
But in the in between time, that in the mean time
Spent a lot of time
Gettin pissed off just to medicate and lift off
Don’t need Don Perion to sip off
Already had my way with the bottle
Even thought to get back with the trouble and rejoin the hustle
That’s just what happens to a man who really knows his old ways
Whos tired of making ends meet and ponders getting back to the streets.
Memory sets in and he remembers an O.G. saying
No matter how tall your pockets stand when you ball
Eventually times gonna make you fall
Fall
And I as I pull myself together
I don’t wanna end up like the twin towers rubble
I mean no offence to nine eleven but at that time I probably could have used a reverend
But all that’s irrelevant now
because i live with a different perspective now
there you go you made it to the end :-) comment if you like, constructive criticism wanted as well.
Last Kiss
Open your eyes to the ever turning skies
I want to here with me through the night
My heart yearns into your soul
Burning as if newly lit coal
I bravely submerg the embers
That the time I have can be spent with you
And I remember each kiss every moment
I was caught in your love that for just this day I remember
So what happened was a chance for your love
A time that I kept in a locket tied with a kiss
 I wanted you to feel, to love, to slumber
And to awake in my arms with that times kept bliss
I lay silient in an umber
No Job Can't Pay the Bills TRY JESUS
Here I sit, uncertain of what lies ahead.
I’m still wondering how my family will be fed.
I once had a job that provided a sense of “security.”
Now I don’t…  And I have a lot of uncertainty!
I have unpaid bills, and I’m not sure what to do.
I’ve asked for help.  But not sure who to turn to!
I get discouraged, and feel life “pulling me down.”
I’ve tried just about every job that’s in town.
The dreams I had, have been shattered and smashed.
At times, I feel like I’m just “a piece of trash.”
My wife tried to support me, the best that she can.
But she doesn’t know me…  Or even understands!
Dear Jesus…  You’re the only left that I haven’t tried.
There’s been many nights I laid awake and cried!
I read in the Bible, where your love for me is real!
When I call on your name...  There’s a love I can feel!
Whatever happens, please help me Lord, to trust you!
Whatever tomorrow holds, may I still love you!
I know that you’re a foundation, that I can stand on!
Jesus is a friend!  That I can always depend on!
Jesus, if I lose everything that I have or that I hold on to...
My I always remember your faithfulness
 and never forget you!
Here I stand… With my burdens lifted from me!
It’s because of Jesus!  And how much he loves me!
I praise HIS name!  And lift my hands to the sky!
He’s in control now!  I don’t have to ask the reason why!
Jesus…  Please take control of my worries and desires!
Above all of my problems, I lift your name up higher!
FOREVERMORE
When I hear your name
My heart beats faster than usual
It's not that I am ashame
But It's just your name is too special..
Can't control the feelings
When I am with you
Can't stop smiling
When you hold me like you do
When you hug me then
I feel like I'm in heaven
You are a blessing from above
And you are the reason why I loved
I'll promise to love you FOREVERMORE..
And I will cherish you until the end of my borrowed life
And I will keep our precious memories as long as
we see each other in our next life..
Will We Know Him
Will We Know Him?
Will we know Him if He stood in front of us?
If He walked by us on the street?
Will we know Him?
If we have a chance to meet Him in our  lifetime?
In that split second that we meet Him?
Our eyes met for the first time?
Will we know Him?
Yes reading the moment we stood side by side?
Our smiles are very clear
Our heart jumps around
Yes we do know Him?
That look, and that feeling
When we know we've found our home
Yes we do know Him
Yes we know what to say to Him
As we walk away together
Yes we know Him as He knows us His children
We are finally together
As my Mother Slips Away
I called my mother the other day- just to listen to her voice
She answered dear Steve – yes this is me- how are you this day
I said I was fine- it has been some time- I searched for more words to talk
She cantered a bit then came to a halt- as I began to say
Mother dear- this is Mark- how are you today
Mark she replied- I have a Mark- he was the oldest of three
How is school - are you making good grades- are you coming home real soon
I told her I would- If only I could- would she know me anyway
I visited my mother the other day- at a home for Alzheimer patients
Her stare in the air- made it be known- that she could not remember
I sat by her side- we nibbled on crackers- we looked out the window pane
Then I was father- she told me she miss me –I cried a thousand tears
She reached for my hand- I did not resist- I was blessed to make her happy
How are you Tom- I said I was fine- The kids will be home soon
I told her it’s time- I must go home - I have to work tomorrow
I took her hand- I’ll see you soon- Goodbye Steve she told me
As my Mother slips away today- how precious are my memories
For after this world –I can hardly wait- for my Mother to recognize me
My Future Generation
I can act insane
But DO NOT
Make me feel worthless
I belong in God’s family
He will bless my future generation
Don’t punish me for
Being myself –
Don’t envy my glee
I can act like an
Adult, but I’d
Prefer to have joy…
Not stress…
That piles upon us in our
Everyday lives
Being childlike is
A rare beauty –
No one prizes it…
No one came across it…
In this lifetime…
I can laugh all day
I can make you smile
If you’d accept my
Childlike dreams of mine
Don’t treat me like a sick swine
Renew my young heart
Give me the ability
To kill the old man…
I have my place in God’s family
He’ll be adored and glorified
We’ll exchange prayers and hugs
By my future generation
I beg of you –
Don’t kill my childlike mentality
I’ll behave myself…
I’m positively sure that I’ll make you happy
I’ll still have pieces of a child in me
And pass it on to my future generation…
Daddys Coming Home
My Daddy’s coming home, he promised Mom and me
He told us not to worry; he was safe as he could be
He’ll wear his vest and helmet and stay out of the crowd
My Daddy’s in the Army and he serves his country proud
It’s just another tour he said like the ones before
My Daddy’s coming home some day but today he is at war
We didn’t hear from Daddy, though he said he’d call each day
My Mommy said don’t worry but let’s kneel down and pray
We thank God for our Daddy and to keep him safe and warm
Like he did the last time and back in Desert Storm
We tell God that we love him and that all we’re praying for
Is Daddy coming someday but today he is at war
We haven’t heard from Daddy; it seems for quite a while
We still kneel down and pray for him but Mommy’s lost her smile
Friends keep coming over and they pray with her too
My Mommy looks so tired and sad; I don’t know what to do
Today my Mom was crying when she hung up the phone
She said that was the Army and their sending Daddy home
I said let’s pray for Daddy and knelt down by her side
She didn’t help me with the words; she just knelt down and cried
I knew something had happened but I was scared to ask
I asked God to take over; he handles all those tasks
Then I got this funny feeling, my Daddy’s not alone
He’s with some fallen soldiers and God’s bringing them back home
My Daddy’s going home today like he promised Mom and me
Home to be with Jesus for all eternity
With Memorial Day coming up, I thought I would share this with all of you.  IF you
The River home
It was a home on the river we lived .
It was the ghost of a young man whom had taken his own life.
I still remember the vision of him walking by me with a blank stare
We,  as a Family of  seven , moved into this river house
Panoramic views right out to the river , I should mention
I was home alone as a child , looking out at "The Julia Belle Swan " as she went by .
Upstairs in that room as I saw a figure walking by , with very nice features , auburn hair
I thought he was my older brother , a handsome young guy
Then I realized the young man was not my brother , a  apparition he appeared .
He was not there to scare or frighten ,
the message I believe he wanted to shed light on, so clear.
He walked right by ,then disappeared through the window, out to the River .
The Ghost knew I could see him , a gift I have been given
when I was a younger child of five , I had once died for a short time. I was lifted by Jesus in Heaven . Death is not for us to decide .
Later in the years we moved from that home , every home we lived in had a story
or a presence of its own . My Mother had told me later , a young man took his life there .
 Keep fighting your way through life and its despair ,
you are important to someone whom cares .  If you feel alone and want life to end , Please pick up the phone , call anyone ,  call for help , call a Friend .
"This is not fiction , it truly is a gift I have been given "
I Was Homeless... Now I Have A Home
Never had a voice.
Never had a choice.
Never had a room.
My life was doomed.
Wanted to get away.
No one to turn to.
Not allowed to mix,
With crowds.
Always heard cursing,
Out loud.
Asked God why I,
Had no where to go.
No place where I fit in.
No place where I was me.
No place that I could see,
Hear, feel, touch,
Or taste peace.
No where I had love.
Not realizing that that,
Place was temporary,
That I had to be there,
Just for a while.
So that one day I'll,
See a smile,
And hear well done,
My faithful servant.
You have fought the,
Good fight, kept the,
Faith, ran the race.
I was there with you,
In that place. Now I have,
A new home for you.
For you to lift your voice,
Because you made the ,
Right choice. You have,
Many rooms. You come my way,
And turned to me.
Come home with me,
To live in peace and victory.
Welcome Home, My Child
Getting sleepy with eyes falling tired
Drift away into a new sense of wonder
Longing for purpose that seems to fade away
With every step, God whispers, "Stay...
"Slow down My Child, you're going too fast
Take a look around at My Home for you at last
Take all in the Love I have for you
And don't fret over fear of what I want from you
I love you Child more than you could ever know
You are My Child; I am your Home
And I will never let you go
All I want is for you to love Me too
Welcome Home, My Child
I love you."
Decisions
Lord, I do not know what to do;
Please, lead me by Your side.
Decisions I'm facing are lost and through;
Please, lead me to do what's right.
