Late to the party we arrived at seven
At least we showed up before eleven
Sweet Ginette, joined us both at the door
A bottle in my hand ready to pour
Off to the kitchen to see the Birthday Queen
All the happy faces a beautiful scene
Hugs for Chantale, another for Helene
I met a new person, energetic like a teen
Her name if I remember, it is Jocelynne
She is married, to a cool guy his name Martin
Bruno was cooking but stopped to say hi
Christine looked happy to be with her guy
Jokes and conversation, a whole lot of fun
Happy to spend time with everyone
Dave seemed content enjoying the mood
My stomach grumbled, I was ready for food
To the table it was time to sit down
We were all treated, to the best meal in town
First Chantale prayed a blessing on us
Our Savior is great, he deserves a fuss
The meal fantastic but the Tuna was raw
I tried to eat it but it stuck in my craw
My Mary she enjoyed it, although not me
I prefer all things cooked, that come from the sea
The pasta amazing, seafood galore
The wine was superb, I let Christine pour
She sat to my left, Dave sat to my right
Everyone there, made it a perfect night
Once concluded, Christine C sang a song
A Louis Armstrong tune we all joined along
Her voice was clearest ours more like a croak
We were lost in the moment, that's not a joke.
We all started dancing, disco moves on the floor
Armand turned up the sound, as we screamed for more
First time I saw Dave dance, he cuts quite the rug
Armand has his own moves, he likes the Jittery Bug
Before too long it was time for dessert
Hot from all the candles I unbuttoned my shirt
Chantal blew out the candles after making two wishes
Armand served Mary's cake, on rectangular dishes
Chantale's special day, a day to remember
Celebrated each year, October not November
So we raised our glasses, thankful for the cheer
Together we celebrated a friend who is dear!
Standing in a dark dark room
Shadows gave an air of doom
Cobwebs hung across the wall
Spiders on silken threads did fall
Pumpkin faces cast an eerie glow
Ghostly white faces began to show
Skeletons and spooks and ghouls
Their red eyes glowed like ruby jewels
The door opened slowly, how the hinge did creak
A dark figure loomed and began to speak
Mum entered singing with a spooky birthday cake
For it’s my Halloween party not a deathly wake

Who am I?
Am I defined by what is near in sight?
Am I defined by what I have done,
Or am I defined by what I could become?
Perhaps I'm of no use.
To him, or her, or I, nor you.
Or perhaps I'm too misunderstood to be defined,
And it is something like understanding that comes in time.
And if to the world I'm never shown,
Yet in my own light I've grown and grown,
And so I can know no happiness but my own--
The reason for my smile, to you, will forever be unknown.
I do not pray for the world to know my name.
For it and verse; the letters are the same.
And if a man should find his sorrow in what he reads,
I pray his pain my words to keep.
Should his eyes rain on my page,
Better tears than storms of rage.
And if a man should find his sorrow in what he reads.
I pray his pain my words to keep.
And if to the world you're never shown,
Yet in your own light you've grown and grown,
And so you know no happiness but your own.
Let the reason for your smile, to you, only be known.
Charmanders are red and Squirtles are blue
If you were a Pokemon I would always choose you
You’re smile is stronger than a hyperbeam
Like Jesse and James we make the perfect team
I will stand by your side like Pikachu and Ash
I’ll love you more than a level eighty Rapidash
You’re more legendary than a Lapras, Entei or Mew
Out of all six hundred and forty Pokemon, I would always choose you
This poem was written by my 11 year old granddaughter Kisha Cherington, my grandson would have been 19 on the 13/07/2013, and he loved Pokemon very much, his sister still misses him and I thought this was just a great couplet she wrote for him, so wanted to share and hope others will enjoy her poem.
Again a small poem guys dedicated to my Darling hubby..

Loving You is Blissful - My Darling Hubby
Twilighting glow of the sky..
Wanna fly so high..
Sparkling amidst the million stars..
chosen the crazy pal and so life is excellently par..
As like the blossom were kissed by soft rain..
Your arrival in life diminished all my pains..
God has entwined me..with my emarald diamonite gem..
Enlightening new vistas in life as like your next aim..
At an astounding pace time flew..
But When i didn‘t see you..I feel like..Life is been dew..
Your divine presence in life rejuvenates me..
Every tick of my heartbeat resonating wit your‘s or whatever it will be..
Your innumerable naughtiness made me silly..
But yep, your beautifying nature had an fragrance in life like lilly..
As like snow crested the nestled mountains..
You cuddled my persona..like a sip of fountains..
Being With you, Life is euphorically elated..
Full of high spirit and delighted..
Thanks for being accompanying me my theist..
Your admirer with lots n lots of Love:
Am I being too bold?
To say Lordy! You’re OLD
Old enough to grow
Old enough to know
Old enough to show
Old enough to sow
Old enough to flow
Old enough to glow…
Glowing as you are
Glowing as a star
that sparkles so bright
at the speed of light…
***Written for a very special and unique lady to celebrate her upcoming birthday
(Oh well, what the hell…It’s for her contest too)
In a blink of an eye you were took away
they say time`s a healer,i think not
you`re still in many thoughts every day
still in our hearts, never forgot.
For the character you were, everyone loved
i know you`ll be looking over all with care
whilst amongst friends and family who is above
thirteen years in the heavens, you have been there.
I can safely say,and this goes for most
we all miss your charm care and cheek
all that knew you,can some way boast
they had the pleasure knowing you, left at your peak.

Happy Birthday Joey
I hope this will get to my wife
Your gone but never from my life
A birthday poem to you my dear
I wish you will always be near
Just a few words I want to say
I love you so much only everyday
I will send you a message on a balloon
Watch for it, look towards the moon
One day you will come for me
Until then happy birthday Joey
My big birthday is coming and I need a sailor’s eye,
With one eye on the calendar, the other on the sky.
Reserving the park early to hold the celebration
Invitations went to everyone I knew across the nation.
But rain clouds have kept coming and I have begun to fret.
We haven’t had two days of sun in a succession yet.
I thought that it was safe to plan for a birthday in July,
But rain clouds have chased summer in the ever changing sky.
One day of sun, six days of rain have been a normal week.
Clouds are forming up again, this moment as I speak.
I am surprised that I have made it to the age of ninety-five.
July 7th bring the sunshine please, to cheer that I’m alive.

It is my birthday, the cake is so fine
Covered in icing with candles of nine
I have on my hat the paper kind
I close my eyes and search my mind
What can I wish for, what do i want
This to me is a special moment.
Is it wealth or material things
Or a host of Angels with wings
A new puppy maybe, now that idea is great
But my Mam says for that I must wait
Is it happiness for all, yes I wish that
But thats not good enough, nor is a cat
I know what I will wish for its something new
My wish is " May Your Every Wish Come True"
So now as I blow out my candles 1,2,3,4
Thats half the wish accounted for
5,6,7,8,9 out of puff now
Thats all of them out soooo
Lets enjoy the cake, thats my first wish to you
Hope the things you wish for follow through
The shadows of doubt were following me since my life’s dawn
Overcastting my thoughts as not to find the place that I belong
But Thou, my Lord, have shown me Thy everlasting celestial way:
Unconditionally to love every being of your creation to this day
For that my heart everlastingly Thy glory would thankfully sing
Continuously working the desired peace on this planet to bring

A velvet dress,
shows just enough.

It’s Deborah’s birthday today - I think she’s twenty one
I’m lucky to have found her, she shines like the morning sun
She’s always here to leave a lovely comment on our work
It’s something she enjoys not a task she will ever shirk
She is fantastic friend to me in keeping my spirits high
Saying wonderful words to me and my confidence does fly
Deborah you truly are a special friend
We will be friends to the very end
Hugs as ever Jan xxxxxxx
31st May 2014
This year we pooled our money to give to a needy cause.
So we’re not expecting much on Christmas Day from Santa Claus.
Of course the children all will find their hearts’ desires beneath the tree.
They are too young to know the thrill of giving to a charity.
So we’re breaking with tradition in limiting our spending spree
On lavish gifts for one another. What a big change that will be.
But there is one last tradition that we follow slavishly.
We celebrate all family birthdays to the very nth degree.
When we wake on birthday morning we know the whole day will be ours.
From the youngest to the eldest, this day brings us super powers
And so much love and true devotion that we’re treated like a queen
Or a king as gender dictates, but you all know what I mean.
From one year to over ninety, there’s a party every year.
We are showered with gifts and honor from the folks we hold most dear.
We will gather Christmas morning just the same as every year
As we watch the children open gifts, with happiness and cheer.
But we know we’ll be remembered when our birthday comes around
When everyone will gather with the best gift to be found.
Gifts and love and honor, enough cake to make us groan,
We look forward to our birthdays with a party of our own.

Being an adult on Planet Earth
At its center I've been since Birth
The one place I've known and called home
It's virtues I've come to adore and uphold
And in adversity, I gaze in the unknown
Finding help I can't call my own
For I know that friends can be stars
And you reading this, are one to me!!!
Happy birthday Dad
Ever since you left us all in tears,
our hearts ached in grief for years.
Sweet memories of times together,
brush gently as subtle touch of feather !
Longing to touch you and embrace,
while feeling your presence at every place.
Your smiling face in my eyes I embellish,
but wonder why in a blink you vanish?
That in my each cell you are very much alive,
It was too late to realise and end up strife.
Remember the days of joy, None of them so sad,
Today I am wishing you happy birthday dear Dad!

A tribute to my dad on his birthday today
My Lovely Wife's Birthday
Just had heard another great bird sound
Which was the one in the background?
When there are at least two or more
Always will love, appreciate and adore.
I'm sure it is lonely being only one
With two or more can have much fun
When whole world is full in its entire
And another poem will write to inspire.
With all of that written, said and done
My wife in my life is the only one
God to me has so graciously sent
To make my every day magnificent.

Waiting For Her Birthday Card
by Rick Rucker
This is really hard,
Waiting for her birthday card.
It won't come, of course,
Unless delivered by a Flying Horse!
She mounted the hearse for her Final Trip,
The driver was anxious, he used the whip!
Her card was always there by morning,
Long before the sunlight was aborning!
Not just my birthday, but all year round,
She must have bought them by the pound!
I'm a guy, I might forget,
The sadness in her eyes, I would then get.
This time, I'll be sad,
I've lost the first Love I ever had!
