Circus Clown

Circus clown, don't let me down.
Why don't you clown around with me?
You are my laughter.
You are my smile.
So stay awhile and smile with me.

Circus clown, don't let me down.
Why don't you cut with the silly frown?
You are my laughter.
You are my smile.
So lift me off the ground.

Circus clown, don't let me down.
Why don't you clown around with me?
You make me smile.
You make me laugh.
You make me sit, and watch you dance.

Circus clown, circus clown.
Why don't you clown around with me.
You are my laughter.
You are my smile.
You are my sunshine.
So stay awhile, and smile with me.

So stay awhile and smile with me..

FINALLY HOME

We'll climb over paper mountains
Cross over distant seas
We'll give away our fortune
We will get down on our knees
We'll be analyzed and scrutinized
Receive training from the best
But until at last you're in our arms
We will never rest
We will never rest

And...
We're dreaming of the first time
We will see your face
Such a sacred moment
That'll never be erased
All the sacrifice worth it
None of it a waste
'Cause when this journey's over
You'll be in this place
You'll be home
Finally home!

Today we got our travel approval
We're packing up our bags
Been through highlands and valleys
We've overcome a hundred snags
Done things we didn't think we could do
We feel so very blessed
But until at last you're in our arms
We will never rest
We will never rest

And...
We're dreaming of the first time
We will see your face
Such a sacred moment
That'll never be erased
All the sacrifice worth it
None of it a waste
'Cause when this journey's over
You'll be in this place
You'll be home
Finally home!

The country gathering

The country gathering

Sometimes the folk all got together
In the little country house
Now there was Tom the tiny tiger
Well, he could be a louse
But could he play that old guitar
Man! he made it speak
And when the folk did hear him play
He made their legs go weak.

There was Winifred the otter
How she did those drums
Her rhythm it could suck one in
If you were feeling glum
You’re legs would start to dancing
As you’d rise up to the sky
And all those troubles that you had
They’d fade away and die.

Now Mugly Minie, could she sing!!
She was the porcupine
She’d stand there with a glass of wine
And she’d just blow your mind
As Billie basset, the friendly bear
Would play that bass so cool
Now he was quiet, and very shy
But lord, he had it all.

People came from miles around
To hear those fellows play
They’d dance and sing Chicago blues
Their hearts alive and gay
They’re going to be a big time band
One day, they all know this
But all they really want to do
Is play, that’s how it is.

Is It Worth It

Love can seem so happy and so wonderful
But it can hurt and take away from life too
You make me so happy and make me feel so special
But then you turn around and make me feel like ****
love can turn you into a whole new person
But you could change into to something great or something no one wants
Love seems so wonderful at first
But spending my days not knowing if you want me or even care for me is agonizing
Sometimes i feel like your lying to me but if i say that then you'll get mad again
Your such a loose cannon, ready to burst with rage and tears
Love is so temperamental
so can you tell me.......
Is It Worth It?

Epitaph to a Happy Mosquito

T'was a warm summer's day, when I took to the trail,
to cruise that old black spruce, way down in the swale.

A gallon of bug dope was strapped on my hip,
which I figured would last me for most of the trip.

Down through the sphagnum I plowed like a moose,
a huffin' and puffin' and spittin' my snoose.

Then off in the distance, I heard a faint roar,
like B-29's coming home from the war.

The sky clouded over, so you barely could see,
"They're mosquitoes! "I cried, and they're coming for me.

They flew by me once and past me again,
a-flexing their stingers, before they moved in.

I grabbed for my bug dope and spread it on thick,
just hopin' and prayin', it would do the trick.

They came at me fiercely and punctured my hide,
But before they could drink much, they dropped off and died.

I thought to myself, "What type of bug dope is this?"
The mosquitoes all had smiles on, as they lay there in bliss.

After checking the label, I saw my mistake,
t'was the 100 proof whiskey, that Uncle Jake makes.

My crazy cousin

My crazy Cousin.

My cousin calls me crazy poet
Cause I don’t think like others
I’ve not seen her since she was three
A Flower girl to us lovers
When we got wed in sixty five
But now we write and all
Oh lord, we two are so alike
It’s just remarkable.

In eight weeks time, she’s coming here
To good old western Oz
I know we’re going to get on well
I do, and that’s because
That girl is crazy just like me
And she likes a good old laugh
She seems to be a grand old bird
I’ll say on her behalf.

She’ll bring her man, and son with her
They’re all creative folk
She can paint and write as well
And boy, it is no joke
The kind of talent that they have
It will be a joy to me
To meet up with forgotten kin
I can’t wait for this to be.

A Child's Dream Come True

As the sunsets at the end of the day,
And the night begins to fall,
So, does all the dreams of all the little children,
In their own wonderlands of their own,
Wishing and thinking of great things to come,
Hoping their parents will make these dreams come alive,
Cause dreams to children should become bright and gleam,
And all to them more than just alive,
All children want is hopes and dreams to become true,
But if you can teach them how to work hard at them,
They too can make their dreams become their own reality,
For any one person works hard enough,
At what they want in life,
They can have any one thing they want,
All they have to do is work really hard to make it real,
For believers can believe in themselves,
And strive to work toward making their own goals,
Their very own come true,
Which gives more satisfaction in life,
Than things being handed to you,
So always strive for the best,
And all your wishes and dreams can come true,
In your life if you want them too.

A Truly Happy Soul

I look at the vagabond
Half lying against the wall.
He’s smiling with what he’s doing
As if he has a goal.
Sorting out the rubbish
He brought with him for long.
He lives within his own world
Humming an obscure song.

I ponder on a hermit
Why seclusion is his home;
He chose to make his abode
Where no people ever roam.
Waking up before sunrise,
He hoped to live a day;
In the coming of the twilight
Not a debt he has to pay.

I envy the singing blind man;
So skillful at his trade.
He holds instinctive talent;
Finger trekking from fret to fret.
He’s meek in conversation
But he takes pride of his roots;
And even in his blindness
He’d been able to see the truth.

I find joy in my pondering
With the lesson that it brings;
That in my introspection
I’ve learned a lot of things.
To be humble is to be happy
If one looks at life as a whole.
Behind the silence of the simple
Is a truly happy soul.

Living my dream

Living my dream

I had one dream when I was young
To go to another land
In life I wasn’t satisfied
I wanted something grand
Lions, tigers. Kangaroos
And all those wild, wild beasts
Africa, South America
Or Australia at least.

Possessive Mother was my curse
How could I get away?
Every time I mentioned it
She had so much to say
And made me feel so guilty
Really cramped my style
And then one day there came along
Something to make me smile

I’d just turned my nineteenth year
When this great girl came along
She hailed from West Australia
And filled my heart with song
So we got married, had some kids
And here we are in Oz
Been here for half a century
And I came here all because

It was my fate to find this girl
She was my destiny
There’s be a whisper in the skies
That knows how things will be
It takes one’s soul, and leads it on
So growth, it might occur
And I know that west Australia
My heart, it sure does stir.

Happy Birthday

I say; Happy Birthday, to you today.
To someone special, in a loving way.
I dedicate this song to you.
And give my thanks, for all the time you shared.

I'll send a bouquet of flowers too.
Something special, while in love with you.
Petunias, Roses, maybe Daffodils.
Something special for the windowsills.

I say; Happy Birthday, to you today.
To someone special, in a loving way.
I dedicate this song to you.
And give my thanks, for all the time you shared.

I'll ice the cake, and bring the candles too.
Something special, from me to you..
I'll bring a carload of friends along.
Everybody will just join the fun.

We'll light the candles.
You can blow them out.
Everybody will just scream and shout.

And say; Happy Birthday, to you today.
To someone special, in a loving way......

A true Friend

A true friend is one who cares.
A true friend is one who dares.
A person who make good pairs.
A person who can never see your tears.
A person who makes your mind clear.
One who explains what's wrong and what's fair.
If you find the qualities in a friend.
Then do understand that the person is your true friend.

The Barmaid And The Pedlar

There's an old English song called All Jolly Fellows That Follow The PLow. The tune works fine as is for the chorus and with the verses if the tune for the 3rd and 4th lines is repeated for th 5th and 6th. Well, it works for me but my singing has never been much hindered by tunes.

It was after that big game one long gone September,
the score line was one I’d like not to remember,
in a small Richmond pub not too far from the ground,
we all settled down with our sorrows to drown.
We were well on the way, as were most of the crowd,
when in came a young pedlar a shouting out loud.

“Sausages, sold by the yard or the pound!
Get a fresh sausage, the best to be found!
It’ll make your wife happy of that there’s no doubt,
with her very own snag she won’t need to eat out.”

Cried the barmaid, “How many do I get to a yard?”
“Madam, three if they’re soft or two if they’re hard”
She felt for the soft ones cos she wanted a lot,
but the more that she squeezed em the harder they got.
She found not a sausage was e’en a bit soft
so she told the young pedlar to go get far offed

“Sausages, sold by the yard or the pound!
Get a fresh sausage, the best to be found!
It’ll make your wife happy of that there’s no doubt,
with her very own snag she won’t need to eat out.”

Said the pedlar, “Why madam no need to be rude.
And in fact what you told me was verging on crude
But you don’t look so bad for a foul mouthed old sow
so step on outside, if you like, with me now.
If you play your cards right I might squeeze your left breast.
If I find I like that I might squeeze all the rest.”

“Sausages, sold by the yard or the pound!
Get a fresh sausage, the best to be found!
It’ll make your wife happy of that there’s no doubt,
with her very own snag she won’t need to eat out.”

Said the barmaid to pedlar, “You are a right jerk,
I’m a barmaid and never do mission’ry work.
But if you're near to the shops and you buy me some eggs,
I might squeeze that there pimple you’ve got ‘tween your legs.”
Then she said something that made the whole crowd guffaw,
“And will you stop off at home and please check the back door?”

“Sausages, sold by the yard or the pound!
Get a fresh sausage, the best to be found!
It’ll make your wife happy of that there’s no doubt,
with her very own snag she won’t need to eat out.”

Night

During the night
She got in the fight
With a person named right
That might keep the light
From returning at dawn
They both took a yawn
Then out popped out a song

LOVE FOR MY FATHER

I sometimes sit and wonder, dad are you with me? and are you sad?
I think of the time I had with him here on earth
He was a this frail, little man who loved the Lord
He certainly did all he could, he loved yellow for he stood out in a crowd
My dad was a wonderful person and friend
You just had to do for him, he was always so happy and never sad
To have some help from time to time, he loved you to come see him
He was a true man of God
He went to church and gave all he had
He never had extravagant things
He loved the basics of having furniture and clothes
When I gave him the rocking chair for Fathers Day in 2008,
Little did I know he was getting ready to leave this earth
I remember being so very happy to see, the smile on his face
When I would come near
The thing I am trying to express for all of us is to love your fathers and
Give them your trust
For you never know that this little man from God in yellow
He may still be sitting in the church he loved.
I remember always my father he was, the light of my life and now he is with the
Lord above
Love your fathers and let them know that you truly love them so.....

Ballad Of The Happy Valley Baptist Church

Accordin' to my totally unbiased and very detailed research,
Jerimiah Flood pastored the Happy Valley Baptist Church.
From the pulpit he flailed his arms as if fightin' a hive of bees,
Elicitin' "Hallelujahs" and bringin' sinners fallin' to their knees!

His boomin' voice disturbed the peace of those who chose to sleep.
Interminable two-hour sermons were tolerated by his faithful flock of sheep.
He preached hellfire and damnation and the dire results of sin.
He was a'gin any form of gamblin' or dancin' and drinkin' moonshine gin!

An all-day meetin' with dinner on the grounds was an annual tradition,
A time to repent for sins of commission and omission in order to avoid perdition!
Dinner was held under the spreadin' sycamores if the weather allowed.
A half-hour blessin' by Jerimiah was normal as hungry stomachs growled!

Tables groaned 'neath heaps of fried chicken, baked beans and pertaters,
Green bean casseroles and garden fresh stuff includin' beefsteak termaters.
Most disturbin' and unknown to the reverend, there was a little tad of booze,
Snuck into the gatherin' and surreptitiously shared by old Deacon Hughes!

Pastor Flood served the faithful congregation for nigh on forty years,
Baptisin', marryin' and buryin' through many happy times and tears.
Oh, I failed to mention Sister Lois, ancient organist and director of the choir.
Her tea was spiked and she became so inebriated she was invited to retire!

The birds are coming

The birds are coming

The birds are coming
The dusk be closing in
The evening silence, coming soon
Makes way for screeching din
Of crazy birds of pink and grey
All falling from the sky
Alighting near the feeding tray
As daylight starts to die

So beautiful, the sun shines bright
Pink feathers come aflame
As dancing, screeching, crazy birds
Enjoying life’s sweet game
They argue as each pulling rank
Will try to get first feed
Those pink and grey galahs they be
A somewhat noisy breed.

Too soon, they’re gone
So very suddenly
They hurl themselves into the sky`
As off and flying free
They fly up to their safe abodes
Among the tall green trees
To slumber neath the starry skies
So wonderful they be.

I Just Wanna Make You Happy

??I Just Wanna Make You Happy??

Sometimes I wished
problems between us
didn't exist...

Cause I hate arguing
with you, it's just wasted
time.

I rather love you then fight.

I'll try harder next time
to think things through,
so you won't be mad at
me.

I just wanna make you
happy, give you the best
of me.

Treat you like Queen,
never letting go.

You mean more to me
than you'll ever know.

It's amazing when we
get along, we just can't
get enough of each other...

And that's how
we should be.

Let's not let negativity
get the best of us, cause
in my arms is where you
belong...

Every day, every night,
every second, minutes,
hours...

Until the day I die,
I will love you all
my life.

OVER A CUP OF COFFEE

A cup of coffee we met
Miles of ride we went
Ideas, opinions we vent
Few minutes we spent

On the coolness of the light
I heard laughter so dear
High up staring to the skies
Picture of you not a liar

You play jolly to quiet songs
Asking me sometime what wrong
Fallen short yet been long
I didn't know, we can get along

LOVE ANSWERS

Am I ok to be dull,

Is it fine to be without

YOU AND STILL SHINE.?

Will I be a joyful

memory in your mind.

I asked:

TRUE LOVE SAYS IT'S

okay to be happy

apart from me.

Never replace my

joyous gift with grief.

In the spaces or gaps.

Your light should

fill- in, removing,sadness,

with a "well lived life".

He expressed:

Be happy ,with me-

or apart from me;

Love wouldn't have it

ANY-OTHER WAY.

He reiterated:

What's Understood;

needs no explanation

He said:

What kind of man would I be,

IF I REJOICED IN YOUR

MISSING ME.

KNOWING,that

I may never return.

He spoke again:

You have taught me that happiness

and all of it's glory will never die.

And sadness lingers on for ever.

Said I:

Away from you by

death or by distance.

Will still leave me responsible

for your smile.

From the brightness of your smile;

Everyone will be aware, that it be I

who put it there-

Even after years have passed

You with your new love,

Alas !

It would be me that left you

"Glowing"

He reported:

All the records will be

set straight and show,

That I was the man

"who brought out the best in you-

made joy in the depths of you".

He chanted:

I then realized my joy could never

subcomb to sadness again;

Neither to death- nor poverty -

not time- nor distance.

So I will rejoice when you come,

I'll live off the memories

your endless joy has brung.

So until you come again,

I will smile and illuminate

the days so brightly.

So bright... that even the next man

will praise your ways

and ask me to share the secret of your magic

I shall live in memories of happy days;

In the cheerful thoughts of men.

DANCE DANCE

I have been running to the meadows..
I tried to chase the rear shadows...
Wanting to valiantly join the show..
Magnifying beauty in a dance flow..

Melancholic is the chosen first beat..
I sway my body following my feet..
I stand; crawl and sometimes sit..
Unaware of the beginning felt heat..

When finish, all seem to marvel..
Awed and entertained applause fell..
Suddenly, there's the ringing of a bell..
Symbolizing start of another music roaring well..

Dancing dancing...
hands holding..
hips swinging..
arms bending..

dance...
dance..
dance..

My addiction

I have an addiction...
It dont matter what time of day it is my addiction is there...
Not always in the literall since...
But it is always on my mind...
I lay my head down to sleep at night thinking about you...
I sleep dreaming about you...
I wake up thinking about you...
Your always on my mind...
No matter what I do my addiction is always on my mind...
Even if your not the last one I talk to before I lay my head down to sleep...
I still lay my head down thinking of you...
I just cant get enought of you...
No matter what my addiction is there...
My addiction has a name...
Her name is Shelby Nestle...
No matter how much we text or talk on the phone...
Its never enough...
I cant get enough of your beautiful eyes...
I cant get enough of that beautiful smile...
I cant get enough of kissing your soft lips...
That feeling I get inside when our lips touch...
Or holding you in my arms...
This is a new addiction to me...
Never have I been this addicted this quick...
It scares the shyt outta me...
But then I love it...
You are my new addiction baby...
You are my...
My heroin...
My ecstacy...
My cocaine...
You are my own personal drug...
I cant imagine and addiction stronger...
You are my addiction...
I wouldnt even think about trying to break this addiction...
I wouldnt go to rehab for this addiction...
I like it to much...
YOU ARE PERFECT JUST THE WAY YOU ARE

Gentle music

Gentle music

Always I’ve loved music
How I love to write those songs
I love to bash on the old guitar
And sing my words so strong
But gentle always does it
Sheer noise, I cannot stand
I love a real sweet melody
With a lovely soft, sweet band.

It seems the melody has gone
From music, now these days
Everyone just screams and shouts
Their minds all in a haze
From every kind of booze and drugs
All sweetness played right out
The young guys call it music
But me, I have my doubts.

I write my songs with sweetness
The words as plain as day
I need to get my words across
Not put folk in a daze
I want to see folk happy
Not doped out of their heads
I’m not out to feed the mind
I choose the heart instead.

Survey Of A Happy Life

Survey Of A Happy
life.

The question I was
asking:
The couple answered;
it's Good-Flavorful
and lasting.
It is fun and
uplifting
it's giving and
sacrificing
It is easy to
Identify
if you know the
signs.

Reciprocating,unselfish
It is hushed kisses,
smooth caresses
gentle movements
that induce deep-
gutted moans
it is pillow talk
and long walks-

A blood rush to
cheeks.
it is rocking chairs
and wheel chairs
It's thanking
God for each other -
for the ability
to remain meek.

And for our,
grandchildren
adored.. seeing the
past presented in
the
presence of their
eyes.
Enduring and over-
looking each
failure.
Sharing of favorite
stories for the
Ump-tenth time.

The prayers,the joys
shared, produced the
unity that made
us strong. Strong
enough together to
withstand disasters.
Escaping cracks
and sink holes...

We who know,know
the value of
these...
Also we see the
importance of
laughter.
We knew how to live
-
we knew love then
and shall, in the
hereafter.!

Lady from the hills

Lady from the hills

In a little cabin in the hills
There lived a maid of beauty
I’d place her on a pedestal
And no one would dispute me
One glance at her, and one would fall
Beneath this ladies charm
Her heart was filled with harmony
Her mode was soft and calm

Her kindness it was known by all
And folk would come and see her
For every time they caught her glow
Something within would stir
And as they trod their way back home
There feet would feel like feathers
She could even melt the heart
Of those with souls like leather.

Her hair was dark, her eyes deep blue
And every time she spoke
Her voice rang out like tinkling bells
As through the air it broke
All the birds and butterflies
Would gather on her flowers
And wolves, and bears and wild creatures
Would melt beneath her power.

One day a man with no compassion
Who had no soul at all
Did come into her lovely garden
And he was oh, so cruel
Even she could not melt him
This man of ugliness
His heart was cold his hands were rough
He was evil, nothing less.

He tried to have his way with her
But what he did not know
Was that all the wild creatures
They loved this lady so
They came at him with such aggression
And threw him to the ground
And to this day nobody knows
Where his body can be found.

Goats

Goats

They’re everywhere
These pretty little creatures
On the serpent road to Exmouth
They be some of the features
Along with Emus, Kangaroos
And handsome birds of prey
These little goats be bountiful
They’re all along the way.

They be domestic goats
Who’ve gone back to the wilds
Where they have bred one million fold.
As one moves along the miles
These little goats be seen so much
In their many shades and hues
Don’t know where they got their water
It be tough country too.

The weather here be hot and dry
As the sun bakes everything
And mostly here no rain does fall
To drinking water bring.
And yet these goats look healthy as
Such nimble little beasts
You’d see some dead there in the road
As the crows do have their feast.

That be the price of progress
That poor beasts have to die
That be the curse of human beings
Sometimes it makes me cry
Yet still they be so plentiful
These handsome little guys
Another little part of nature
That make love in me rise.

Two kangaroos passed by

Two Kangaroos passed by

It was on a Friday morning
There’s me, and my dog Bear
We’re walking down a silent street
There’s no one anywhere
It be a balmy, Summers morn
Around about three o clock
With nothing special on my mind
Not really taking stock.

Then suddenly old Bear looks up
With a strange look on his face
And there across the road I see
Two guys with so much grace
They were two grown up Kangaroos
And golly what a sight
At three am they passed me by
And gave me such delight.

The area that I live in
Is built up now, today
So Kangaroos so very rarely
Do pass me by that way
Poor little guys had lost their way
I bet they were confused
For all their homes have been destroyed
They have been so misused.

Hera and Hephaistos

.Hera and Hephaistos.

Zeus and hera, King and Queen
Over all the Gods that ruled
In a fit of passion, one fine day
Made child, yet life was cruel
Hephaistos was an ugly child
All twisted out of shape
He walked just like a drunken man
Fun of him they‘d make.

The Goddess Hera felt a shame
In having such a child
She looked at all his ugliness
Her mind going all wild
She threw him from the mountain top
Into the deep blue sea
Yet Thetis took him down with her
For nine years there was he.

A gifted one he did become
A craftsman of renown
Forging artefacts of beauty
For the sea nymphs there to own
His anger at his Mother Hera
Was understandable
So he did work out his revenge
His plan was very cool.

He made a golden throne of beauty
And sent it to the Goddess
Who loved it, so did sit upon it
Yet though she tried her best
She could not get up from that throne
As it gripped her tightly there
She looked for someone to release her
Couldn’t find one anywhere.

They sought Hephaistros everywhere
To free his Goddess mother
And when they caught him he refused
He looked at one, the other
And told them I want Aphrodite
To be my blessed bride
Then peace made with his Goddess mother
One day he took her side.

This day when Zeus was beating her
His mother Goddess Hera
Hephaistros at his own peril
He did stick up for her
Zeus, he seized him by the foot
And flung him from the heavens
Yet soon the two made peace again
And then peace it did reign.

The moral of this story folk
Is to tell you with respect
That your children are not there
Your glory to reflect
A child must seek his own glory
Not try to live for you
So listen to this story folk
And hear it’s wisdom true.
