The Butterfly Flutters By

The Butterfly Flutters By
On a steamy, sun-drenched, summer Sunday, Tree leaves delightfully dancing to the tune of A warm, welcoming, wandering breeze blowing, Metamorphosis now complete, no memory of being yesterday’s creeping caterpillar, The butterfly flutters by.
Blatantly, brazenly, boastfully, Showing off beautiful, brilliant, blue-black and brown wings, Gracefully gliding through a breathtaking, glorious garden, The butterfly shyly pitches from blushing, boldly-colored, buds to fragrant flowers, Cunningly outmaneuvering a competing, hovering hummingbird.
Slyly snatching a satisfying taste of tantalizing, syrupy, sweet nectar From attention-craving, Golden Flame Honeysuckle vines, The butterfly flutters by Cheerfully and completely satiated - Perhaps, already dreaming about tomorrow’s anticipated sugary feast!

Suburban Summer

 ,
riddles N' rainbows paintbrush the day
summer's heaviness invades
rain circumvents geraniums
ant's N' azaleas dance through sidewalks
where tiny green grass creep 'neath weeds
to see sun seed grey with bright
frogs N' grasshoppers flop along
best friends
when storm clouds bend beyond old oak trees

boys N' girls skip rope,
Double Dutch N' such
up N' down the cul de sac curve

moms N' dads pretend everything's ok
when they've long since strayed away
from light N' love
gloves come off
when lights go out
they scream N' shout
the children barely notice
yet they'll feel the coldness N' cold shoulders
as it's gets colder N' colder
just not days N' nights like now
fuss N' fights have no place
right here N' right now
along these roasting roads
where ticky tack homes
crowd suburbia

where riddles N' rainbows paintbrush the day
summer's heaviness invades
as nature n' naïve children play...
today ,

Sunflower Summers

I miss marigold mornings
with soft sunrises and perfumed wind
whispering through willow branches
and watercolour windows
to join the sultry scent of caramel coffee.
I long for languid afternoons
of superfluous sunshine and cumulus clouds
parading across periwinkle skies
where dragonflies drift and dive
through garnished gardens.
I pine for evenings passed on patios
with potted plants and glittering grass
and a glass of aged merlot.
I sigh for the simple comfort
and peaceful passion
of sunflower summers.

You

Smile...

Dream...

Sun beams like Hot Choclate on a blue day...

Soft silky and smooth on your skin...

Smile....

Dream...

Butterflies softly floating like falling feathers in the wind...

Gently gliding gracefully over the bright green grass...

Smile...

Dream...

Eyelashes brush against your cheek like soft snowflakes on your face...

Fingertips flit freely across your arm...

Smile...

Dream...

Together playfully prancing like horses running wild...

Spinning tops twiling tenderly....

Smile....

Dream....

Wishes whispered wimsically like pixies playing hopscotch...

Softly calling quietly,

I love you!

LOVERS FAIRYTALE

Blissful blossoms blooming
Look LUSTFUL lovers
Listless lovers looming

Krazy killer kisses
Sweltering SUMMER season
Belly breathing blouses

Bayside BEACHES burning
Winter worries wane
Glorious gracious gains

HAPPY hungry hearts
Dwellings do not depart
Picture pretty parts

Take the time to talk
Let listening lead to laughter
Commencing comfortable communications

Hurry HAPPILY EVER AFTER

SIZZLING THROUGH SUMMER'S SHINE

She’s a siren from the southern winds sizzling through summer’s bright dayshine fluffed skirt quite sassy, swirls on air while September brings a maid’s spell. And shorelines toss her sweet essence this saucy flair, scenting hot skin of a season’s spark, so divine; where men succumb to sultry smiles. Oh,show stopper swerving a gait To slowly slip by…secretly. Dr. Ram Mehta’s Alliteration by nette onclaud

SONORAN SUMMER

SONORAN SUMMER

The river has run dry, its dripless bed is empty, and
Crossing the flower carpet dim and dusty, parched
Penstemon and brave little brittlebush,
Expecting an inundation, stretch in a rush -
Spreading petals and leaves which their wetted
Wilted tapestry of color weaves - but they fast
Revert to survival tactics and retract petals, in the
Yearly drought of the Sonoran summer.

.........................................................

Note.

The desert of Sonora, Mexico, is one of the driest in the world, making plant life there very uncertain.

Summer Say

Let's go out with our sunhats today and play
This day will never come our way again
Let's listen to the loud gossiping blue jay
And enjoy the red of the bright breasted robin

Let's sing in the excitement of the busy building ants
Laugh at a cricket cajoling a tender green leaf of grass

Let's go out with our sunhats today and play
For this day will never come our way again
Let's remark about the veins of the oak leaf
And revel in the joy of holding each other's hands today

Let's go out with our sunhats today and play
(This day will never come our way again)

A WARM SUMMER NIGHT

A star lit night
I met my true love...
My delight
On a warm summer night

We met in a field of Moonflowers
I took her hand,
under starlight
On a warm summer night

A warm summer night,
is all I need
with you...
Under starlight

Such love
with you...
Under a nightsky
The stars...
Passing by
Such love...
Is true

Under a clear Moon showing
A field of moonflowers
The colours glowing

The shooting stars fell
As did my heart...
A field of Moonflowers,
for you and I
A love did dwell

On a warm summer night,
we took each other
Under a sky,
full of starbright
A warm summer delight
A warm summer lover

In a field of Moonflowers
Full of starbright
We lay back
and watched the Moons' flight
