Your Leather Jacket on my Shoulders

It is January 1st and it is raining
You have slipped your leather jacket on my shoulders
We walk in shadows of skyscrapers
lost in our conversation- You ask me
all you want to know of me, I answer
as our footsteps echo in splashes
we tune out the sounds of traffic
inhaling the scents of rain,
shops we are passing. I ask you
all I want to know of you, you answer.
Our bodies brush together. I look at your lips
your eyes that are reflecting my glances
We long to escape to a silent, private place.
Cool winds meet us as we turn a corner.
The weight of your leather jacket on my shoulders
it is how I imagine the weight of your body on mine.

We kiss, one bluebird carrying a red heart
stitches the sky.

Subtle indeed, in its expressed readiness for lovemaking. For the owner of the jacket, the promise swims in timeless wonder...the kind of promise no man would deny. -Dean
