As it often does, this poem resonated in my spirit as I was waking today. Another gift from the Lord I am hearing and feeling in my soul. I believe the cry of Gods heart is silently heard between the lines, “Know that I am the Lord that saves, heals, and delivers... I am the giver of life and rewarder of faith.”
You are Lord
Before the sun is tucked away,
Still the night, save the day,
When there’s nothing else to say,
You are Lord
Before river rapids falling deep,
still the oceans, calm the sea,
Men at war, fall to sleep,
You are Lord
Before the Getty’s parched for rain,
hungering lions roar In pain,
the lives that raging fires claim,
You are Lord
Before warfare upon our knees,
Treaties made to appease,
Handshakes seal but not agreed,
You are Lord,
Before our flags are raised up high,
Honors plummet, men ready to die.
Weeping mothers mournful cry,
You are Lord
Before the breaking of our bread,
before darkened skies are a fearful red,
Prayers heard before they are said,
you are Lord
Before the whole entire mess,
Men live denying til laid to rest,
Every knee will bow, every tongue confess,
You are Lord
