You Are

You are to me the essence of a dream The very piece which makes my life complete The clearest drink you give me from love’s stream Your touch brings out in me a nectar sweet You are to me the warmth of sun by day The dance of the Aurora in the night You are the voice that calls my heart to play The wick that burns my love transferred to light You are the waves of passion surging strong You sweep across my form in full command The sea of fantasy to you belongs I bathe myself in you by heart’s demand Yet for all things you do and are to me I know I am the truth that sets you free Eileen Manassian Ghali

I'm not in a very good place lately so...I find it hard to find the words to say....Having said that, I do want you to know that I appreciate your sincere and heart felt posts on this poem. Wow, what an incredible write Eileen. A truly inspired piece of poetry here. Each line is a gem. The way you have weaved this poem together is genius. The metaphoric symbolism is absolutely magical. The love of your life described as "The dance of the Aurora in the night" What a beautifully visual poem. Of all your poems this is now my favorite.

Flying high, Jon...Thanks every so much...Yes....I'm a star gazer...When I look up at the sky....I reach deep within me...to all the places I've been...all the places I'm going....It's fabulous. The Northern Lights would be a dream to see one day...Can you even imagine dancing lights in the sky? I'm glad you have made this a favorite. :)

Fantastic wrap up in last 2 lines gal! You should try all the sonnet forms you are great at them. [Eileen I am a novice at Ghazal & what I did would be considered a MODERN ghazal, classical Ghazal requires meter verse, and a pen name in the last line & was traditionally done as a love poem.] Light & Love
