The satellite pictures they were no joke
Red blanket of fire and pall of smoke
Yosemite park it was ablaze
As down on it the satellite gazed

The firemen on the ground they were fighting
Putting out fires while others were igniting
Risking life and limb for that is the way
They earn there living every day

I believe a heatwave is to blame
No sign of rain the destruction a shame
For that would help the firemen
Hope no braves are lost yet again

Yosemite will recover and once more grow green
Will be a place once again serene
The fires forgotten until another heatwave
Then Yosemite national park the firemen again will save
