Truth cannot be undone, as a rose cannot be unborn...this poem has a masterful blend of intelligence and slow, sharp emotion Eileen. I can feel the torture of cynicism in this poem. "Delight's desire blinds the wisdom of the heart to decipher truth..." this is eloquent wisdom, and mistrust can do the same too. Powerful poetry Eileen...J.A.B.

Justin...there is truth to what you write. Your first sentence is beautiful, deep, and reassuring. Mistrust is a killer of love. You are so right about that, Justin. I haven't been well lately. It's sometimes so hard just to go on. Thank you for this visit. It has touched my heart.

It's frightening for I'm one who holds words so dear. They are very powerful and affect me profoundly. To lose luster is lamentable...Thanks for the visit, Tim.

This brings to mind reading old love letters. For me it is the contemplating of the death of a those relationships. At the time it had felt so real and all encompassing.

Bitter the fruits of wisdom may be for those who taste them, my dearest poetess, but wisdom is neither kind or unkind. She just states the truth! Filakia!

Not a happy write my Enchantress. It is a sad piece that you have penned today. Desire surely does as you say "blind wisdom.." and the final word "Excruciating" cojures images of such anguish at the realiziation of loves end. You have crafted a perfect portrait with your words yet still the poem makes me sad my dear friend. Love Shane xxx
