Winter's Evening

Orangey hues sifting through leaves. Persimmon, peach, pumpkin I believe. Blackened before the glow, tree branches and ends. Through crystal panes, the shadows descend. Scarcely enough to ignite the sky. Day becoming night, as the Sun bids goodbye.

Thank you so much for your words, Pashang! Unfortunately I'm not Persian - probably just a coincidence that I felt compelled to write about the last nights of winter... Interesting reading up on "Yalda" though!

I feel autumn, I feel it. It makes me feel, and that is good poetry. Concise, there! Fritz the Cat

Thank you so much for saying so, Fritz! This one is about a sunset, the emergence of leaves, and therefore the death of winter (aka Winter's Evening), as spring comes into its element. A good way to end this "Winter's" series, I thought :-)

It's almost a shame for those beautiful autumn colors to be shadowed by the night. I especially liked your reference to 'crystal panes,' Michael.
