One thing I have not experienced as my mom is in an urn. A strange experience after all these years, to see a body reduced to ashes, no imagination that her body exists. In some ways a relief but in other ways…I have no words. My dad has a martini and will, with tears in his eyes, clink the urn. Heartbreak…

If not humans to decorate and pay respect for dead ... then nature will take over. I like the thought behind this piece.

Hello Harry, Peacefulness in a poem's rest. The one thing I missed out in the Boy Scouts. Honoring the fallen and placing a flag upon their graves. -Richard

Neglected graves are usually the result of neglected visits. Good thing Nature makes up for that. ~ Regards // paul

I once heard that God is no fool and he collects some of the most tender shoots and some of the most youngling buds. Your three lines speak volumes to my heart. Thank you for sharing. Stay healthy, beautiful and protected + Hugs

Harry...back in Chicago, people do put bouquets out. Sadly, my friend, thieves steal them the same day. Humanity where art thou? Good SENRYu. *Pangie*

I want my ashes scattered in the wind from thee top of a mountain so I can be part of the wilderness I have loved so much. Nicely done Harry. I feel the same as you do. The cemetery seems so bare and forgotten. Good stuff. God Bless, JB
