When It Rain's

The rain has been my friend since I can remember. Each droplet of water causing me to smile and feel loved. For all my life the only person I had was me, A friend was just another word for me to hate. When I am sad no one is there to cheer me up, When I need to be held no one is there to embrace. I fear to be alone, because I am alone, Just a waste of the existence I was gifted. But when it rains everything washes away. I can smile, feel numb even if it is just for an hour. Some may think it's just water, But to me it is so much more. So as I sit, I let the rain consume me whole. For that hour I will be in peace. The smile on my face, the sadness in my heart All means nothing; just a passing of time until I die.

Great poem! This is exactly how I feel when I watch the rain. I have no thoughts or feelings, I'm just there. It's pretty much the only time when things are peaceful. Well put! Kristin

This is a sad tale of loneliness, it is the poet's curse, perhaps. in the second stanza it should be 'no one' instead of 'no'. I could feel the pain of this piece.
