What You Sow You Reap

You broke his heart and left him there to bleed Then found another heart your lust to feed You threatened and you spoke some vicious lies And basked in glory of your masked disguise You made the others think your love was true Forgetting what was old you sought the new You thought you’d covered up what you had done But all will come to light beneath the sun For what we sow we know is what we’ll reap One day your heart will break and you will weep A principle that’s found in every creed With sword you slay with self-same sword you’ll bleed For justice does not long in slumber stay One day he will awake and have his way

Much wisdom and truth in these words. I do believe that true justice would exact a heavy blow . . . but true justice is hard to find that corrects and exacts punishments for wrongs. But in the matters of the heart -- justice comes in many forms . heartache, broken relationships, separation, anger, guilt, depression, death . . but two other words should always follow justice -- mercy and forgiveness. How they play out depends on the actors . . . Justice without the others is just vengeance.

Good morning, David Meade. Greetings from LO. It's nearly 6 am. Got to prepare for classes, but some PS before that! :) You are so right in what you write! ;) Wise man....Justice without mercy and forgiveness is vengeance. We may forgive a murderer...many have done that...but he must do time for his crime. The life that was taken must be atoned for. There is another type of murder. The murder of the heart. Those who commit this crime live to commit it again. This is life. This is reality...BUT...there will be a time to answer for that as well and for everything that has been WRONG....for all of us...ME INCLUDED. I am not exempt. Thanks for your lovely visit.

Thanks, Richard. I wish I could use fancier words and more imagery...I'm a very down to earth writer. It sometimes makes me feel bad, but....it's the gift I have to use. Thank you for your lovely visit. Yes, a zero...or karma....or the reap and sow principle....all the came concept. Thanks for the visit.

An outpouring of emotions that surges up from the heart and splashes against the page like a cleansing rain, as the author pours out her soul and anger. Emile. #7

I need my own cleansing, Emile. Anger...yes, I feel anger. Some of it is directed to myself. It seems I never learn some lessons. Thank you for your consistent visits to my work. I look forward to them. Hugs

What is love? That in itself would take time to discuss. Encouraging words from you, Charma.

I do believe that what we sow is what we reap Eileen..A very powerful poem..A deep one.Once somewhere I read this sentence-'You should never do to others, what you don't wish for others to do to you'.Yees Eileen, the weaknesses of others can make them fail us,and the weaknesses of ourselves can make us fail the others, without seeing the consequences in the long term at time.We can say,He hurt me so i hurt him back,or hurt someone else cuz we become immune to pain..Or We can stick to our morals

Yes, Charma. The thing is....sometime powerful needs threaten to play havoc with morals. We are all human. There isn't a human being alive who hasn't hurt someone or given undue pain. I know I have. That doesn't negate the fact that these things have to be dealt with. Life is full of pain. Who can escape it. Thank you for your visit.

Thank you, Richard. That's only if we ask for forgiveness and make amends. Sometime earlier I wrote a piece called, "God of love and God of Justice." We can't divorce the two sides of His nature. The Bible says, "test yourselves to see if you are in the faith." I know where I've fallen. I'm not blind to my mistakes. Though judgment is only His prerogative, it will take place. Thank you for the visit.

Fortunately we have been forgiven so we will be spared this awful fate. We shall exchange our shame for a cloak of glory. This is a tremendous sonnet, it gives pause for thought.

There is no elimination of judgement, the price must be paid. Thankfully Jesus provides a way.Yes we must accept his precious gift.

Hey Eileen; stopped by to visit. This is a well written take on "what is hidden will come to light". Sounds like someone has a lack of care about the feelings of others they've hurt. You are so right though, justice will have his day. A truly excellent sonnet from you. Be Blessed, Neva

Thank you, my dear. The principle is true in most religious belief systems. We suffer for the choices me make that are not right....either in this life....or the life to come. That is true for everyone, me included. So...I know that it applies to me too. Thank you for the visit, my dear.
