Were I to know that you were wholly mine I’d stake my claim and fight till death of time I’d bare my teeth, emit a vicious growl To her who dares around my prize to prowl Were I to know your eyes just burned for me I’d bathe your form in luscious ecstasy Were I to know that I’m the only one I’d burn for you with heat of blazing sun Were I to know my beauty you adored And proffered luring kisses you abhorred Were I to know my lips were your desire I’d baptize soul and body in my fire Were I to know your heart just bore my name I’d send your soul to heights of lover’s fame Were I to know I danced within your dream I’d feed you my delights and richest cream Alas, all this is yet unknown to me And so I cannot pledge my constancy Eileen Manassian I have a blog up entitled, What Would YOU do for LOVE???? As in all you write my enchantress your soul and mind are one when you practice your art. I believe that love is never easy that there are times when doubts fill your mind. even after twenty-five years of marriage things can break down if trust is lost, it is the mainspring of all relationships. No one ever said marriage would be easy, Shane. That's what fairy tales are made up. Marriage is sacrifice....two people...different backgrounds, different ideologies, at times...different hobbies, different sexual needs and wants...coming together to become one...that takes work and commitment. Hi Eileen! You are a giver... one that offers all she has, but only on condition that betrayal will never be on the books. Can you ever have that assurance? Isn't that how most marriages start, with honest promises of faithfulness from both sides. There is one pivot word on which all balances, and that is 'trust'. hugs // paul

I believe love is a journey filled with many ups and downs, dangers and delights . . . I have been married almost 30 years and it still requires us to invest in the relationship. Many tears, laughter, mistrusts, encouragements, disappointments and forgiveness. Rarely, is the exchange perfectly equal . . . what comes now over these years is the mutual respect we have for each other . . . even when tempers and words are flying. No one EVER said that love was easy....There are so many books that testify to that... Making Love Last Forever by Gary Smalley...He wins She wins....and on and on. If it were easy...these self help books wouldn't be needed. However...where does pleasing and sacrificing take away from one's own well being. cont. would never trust him again.He can have a million female friend,but friendship is a thing ,and flirting is another.I do believe that if i love someone I do mt best to show him everyday he is the one and only,maybe im selfish,but i expect the same.Re if he makes me do things i dont feel to do..if they go against my morals,I wont do them.: )

You are righ in all you write...There is a difference between woman friends and a "special" friend. You always know the difference....I read a quote somewhere that read something like that: A real man won't make his woman jealous of other woman. He will make other woman jealous of his woman.....or something like that. Ah...ideally speaking...things like this wouldn't happen...but who lives in an ideal world. Love you!!! Hugs

Tried leaving a comment on your blog,but itss giving me error 500..So I reply here.Eileen,for love I can do crazy things,maybe unreasonable too,but I would never go to the extent that I enslave myself.I will make changes to make the other happy,but the other has to make sure not to take advantage and steal my identity,cuz he ll be getting close to the verge of loosing me.Re jealousy,if the other makes me feel secure,i wouldnt be,but if i catch him lying or flirtin,would never

Super 7 on this jewel my friend. As always your work shines and inspires others. Love is often unreasonable my friend. How much a person gives is often the measure of its breadth and depth. We may ask, why does love come and go? The answer is nobody truly knows.

You are so right, Robert. What makes me sad is the games that we sometimes have to play. Men always like a woman who is mysterious and captivating. They like the chase and once the woman is secure...they tire of her. Of course...Not all men are like that, but....I speak in generalities. Did you mean "in to it's demands"? Great poem, it is the highest pleasure when we can fully give ourselves to another and that can only happen when they burn with that same intensity.
