2: If you are irritated by every rub, how will your mirror be polished? Rumi In realms of illusion, pain is a sharp reminder of reality. I've been polishing since the day I was born, reluctant to resemble the 'Tin man,' as there is no one to guide me away from a path of affliction, but I know in each test, there is a lesson. Burdens of life, place pressure upon my heart. Sometimes, I'm afraid it may burst, yet, I suppress the sorrows, worried that people may see me as weak. Is there a metaphor for the crimson tears, which flow through my blood vessels? Each palpitation is reminiscent of suffering, so it feels like a rock is banging against my chest, but I keep rubbing it rapidly, hoping it will reflect like a ruby. In my anthology of adversity, I've become tired from the pollution I breathe, afraid toxic tumours, which once consumed my existence, may return to contaminate the oxygen I desire. Yet, I keep searching and fighting, before they place me in a wooden box. Listening to the messages tribulations bring, hoping my eagle spirit overcomes each storm. From the strength of healing, soothed from the moral of each trial, I'm content, knowing, I am stronger. I know one day in my final defeat, I will lay down my sword and shield. Unable to soar, forever silent - I keep faith that God will call me home.

I like this poem as we all have our own trials we deal with. We hope these trials make us stronger and learn before we are placed in that box on the way home. love phyl

SO, no doubt we deal with trials that have no good solutions for us. We can't control those outside of ourselves except through negotiation if they are willing. It makes it very difficult to have our dreams come true. I'm starting to believe that the kind of suffering you're describing isn't really that bad. We have to make the best of all the trials and learn something from all of them. My biggest disappointment involves visions other people rejected. I was sad but went on to the next.

Perhaps weakness is your strength. Your vulnerability and compassion seen in your poetic feats! … I've been polishing since the day I was born, reluctant to resemble the 'Tin man. I am now a Prayer minister at the altar. I wasn’t ready for this for many years. compassion, love, and God’s Spirit flow. The stories touch my heart with humbleness and gratefulness that God allows me a measure of uniting with people in prayer. Love your final words. God bless you!

This IS a Masterpiece, Silent One. Pure sacred oil of the soul.Very poetic and real. An ending after my own heart. "...Listening to the messages tribulations bring, hoping my eagle spirit overcomes each storm. From the strength of healing, soothed from the moral of each trial, I'm content, knowing, I am stronger. I know one day in my final defeat, I will lay down my sword and shield. Unable to soar, forever silent - I keep faith that God will call me home." Breath of fresh air, from our poll...

Wonderful writing. Just love this, SO. Beautifully fulfilling, like the joy overwhelming the soul who knows, beyond death, there is life that brings freedom more free than you've ever known on these present shores. Beautiful. God bless you with a win. much love, Gina

Heat usually brings up the natural oils and lowers the friction. :D Though we can have a friction addiction in life eh? A line from Rumi and a poem from you. A good way to start my day. Your poem reminds me that I am not alone in hiding my inner demons and dialog. And through your words you live on and best yet, you inspired.

fabulous poem and unique take on the quote, but I like it. Thanks for sharing your journey and your honesty with your experiences. The ending reminded me a bit of "Dream the Impossible Dream" of reaching the 'unreachable star.' You're a true poetic hero of your own life. have a great evening, Sara

What an interesting take on that last rumi quote. I wasn't sure what it meant exactly but I like the reference to the tin man and the ruby, like in Oz. Sure to be a winner. Thanks for the mama contest and Happy mother's day in england

"In realms of illusion, pain is a sharp reminder" Very true words spoken...worth their weight in gold. "From the strength of healing, soothed from the moral of each trial, I'm content, knowing, I am stronger." A positive beam that reverberates...like that first beam of ruby matrix advanced, we are all jeweler rough~ till we are not.

Your poetry brilliantly expresses the strength and maturity that come with enduring life's obstacles. The images and words you employ successfully portray the breadth of your experiences, with metaphors and personification adding levels of emotion and significance. The constant subject of hope, as well as the use of religious imagery, give your work a spiritual dimension.

Finally, you write a poem on this quote, i get tired of you saying this to me sometimes when im upset lolol anyhow. I absolutely love this poem. The way it flows in such a smooth and seamless manner and wow you got the perfect picture to go with it too huh, so many lines hit home for me especially “ pain is a sharp reminder of reality. I've been polishing since the day I was born” exactly! “ In my anthology of adversity, I've become tired from the pollution I breathe,” gosh its like u knew how

I was feeling just a while ago. “ Yet, I keep searching and fighting, before they place me in a wooden box.” i guess we need to do what’s needed, keep fighting and thriving amidst all the adversities. “ I'm content, knowing, I am stronger. I know one day in my final defeat, I will lay down my sword and shield.“‘powerful! This is just perfect, rumi will be proud of this! Best wishes for the contest. I wrote a silly poem for this too
