Fingers tapping show impatience Urge the red to turn to green Precious seconds go by slowly Till the amber glow is seen. This is it … the feet are itching The gear lever is clutched tight It’s the calm before the tempest Then it’s there – a change of light! But what’s wrong? There is no movement Horns are blaring. It’s too much! Right up front she holds the lipstick And applies the final touch. ----------------------------------------------- Contest: Any poem that makes you smile. Hi Paul This is a good one and so true. There are some things far more important than the green light. Gave me a good laugh, my friend...... Robert.

I smiled at this clever poem. I thought I did a better job keeping up with you, but apparently many good poems have escaped me. I must return and catch up as your writes always bring me joy ... CayCay

Yes, we must choose - happy wrinkles or anxious wrinkles or sad wrinkles - hey, there's a poem topic! Either way, live long enough and you wrinkle

Thank you CayCay...love your comments:) Life would be dull were we to be serious all the time; a smile a day brings the wrinkles our way! ~ Regards // paul

Dear Paul Had to come back and read this one Paul, it made me think the other day, here it's all people with cell phones but the truth is it's these make-up artists behind the wheels, or the drive threw eaters whom stop at the golden arches of collisions that cause alot of the accidents, again great job my friend, cheri

You are right, Cherl. Some people have no consideration for others; unfortunately the lack of it could cause accidents. I just saw a video on yahoo of 2 chaps who filmed themselves while driving at high speed; it ended when they crashed, and died on the spot...very tragic:( ~ Thank you for coming back:) // paul

So pleased that you enjoyed the humour, Olive_eloi:) These things do happen, and in some cases they could lead to road-rage. Keep well:) Hugs // paul

a friend of mine when on vacation, told me about this tail and it touched me until I wrote about it in this poem, Glad you enjoyed it so much, I enjoyed writing it with a different flavor, like my succubs, they both have the same sad texturing if you noticed. I love to try different flavors so they don't all sound the same, I think I achieved what I was going for, cheri

Hi Cherl! I suppose quite a few people rush out in a hurry, mostly because they are late for work. Then they try to catch up with things while driving. At least this lady's car was at a standstill; not as bad as those driving and texting!! // paul

This is precious and yes, I have done this but a bit more discreetly and fully aware I didn't want anyone honking at me. Very funny Paul! Loved it!
