To My Sister

I have spent my life in jealousy Wanting a sister of my own I begged my parents relentlessly But they just laughed while I moaned So this goes out to my sister The nonexistent one in my dreams What a pair we could have made At least that is what it seems I have heard tales of sisters Fighting constantly through the years But I have always wanted my own To help me conquer my fears And maybe we would fight But I would never stay too mad For you would be my sister One I would be glad to have

Hi april, I dont have a sister either, I can relate to the words in this lovely poem, but I can say that in mothers, girlfriend friendships, aunts, grandmothers I can find some deep sisterhood in communicating & sharing life experiences, although its not biologically the same, there is a womanly bond that links us in a special way....thats a beautiful gift. Love this poem & thankyou for commenting on my poem, really appreciate your kind comment:) <3 cherie..
