Twas like the night lived all alone with faith mislaid from cause to wonder, to lose the love so few have known, this dream we lived no less to ponder Our youth, wasted in defiant haste to think such flights could ever end. Past sacred fruit, no more to taste, paid by a ransom we had to spend You filled a heart with summer's breath and touched this life with hope forgiving, but there are storms that spare no death to dreams of love meant for the living At peace, stay close and wait for me for in my dreams, you are all I see. 01/19/2018

The loneliness, insecurity and love came through your words and into my heart. The deep pool of emotion poured forth by this poet almost drowns the reader with their strength and depth. This is a strong poem, full of emotion and passion. Well done, Emile.

Charlie, please forgive me for being remiss by not having read this one sooner. I've not been around the site much lately, but your word artistry always engages my heart. This one is no exception to capture my emotions. Your choice of a Josephine Wall picture is very fitting.

This is quite good, and should be re-read several times as there is a profound 'sense' to it from which one can be distracted by its lyricism,e.g., 'faith mislaid from cause to wonder'....Congrats, Charlie.
