A tinge of gold revealed in sunset's blink upon its face, caressed by foamed bubbles-- marvelous starfish, draped in pearl and pink, lucent as fluid rails of ocean walls. I stoop to claim the gift left there for keeps and hold it to the sky flashed with moonlight , to revel in this sculpture from tide's leaps... its disc gracefully twisting like a kite where a belly swishes with the ebbing tide leaving aqua-rocks to glint like dimpled foil: a glory belonging only to nature, that I toss it back to its mother, the imperial sea Brian Strand's :LATE MAR 2018 PREMIERE CONTEST

Beautiful! When I was a kid we took starfish out of the water and put them on the beach. When we got back a few days later they were smelly. Sadly we were naive and didn't know we caused their demise. Congrats on your win.

Nice poem. And yes, the Starfish and other wonderful creatures belong in their environment, not as adornments in our homes. Congrats on your win, Nette. ~karam~

Beautiful piece, nette. Reminds me of a wahoo I caught off the coast of Florida. Irridescent blue and silver, shimmering, but when it dies, it fades. A pointless waste, so I threw it back. Viv x

Seashells, starfish, sandstones are gifts from the sea I like.Excellently crafted form, and rhyme which slips so easily from line to line. Woman, I'm buying this!
