Three Stages of the Sun

It was a time in my life I choose to call ---- ---The Eclipse --- For the Sun would not shine Upon me All the love Everything good In my life Had been taken from me My Heart felt Hollow & Dark As a chill Over took my Soul And I found myself alone In a world full of strangers As Ice encased my heart And flowed through my veins I longed for the beauty And the warmth Of the Sun But walked in the Shadows Then came the time of my life I choose to call ---- --- The Melting --- And I stepped out of the Shadows I embraced the light Of the Sun I could feel it Melt the Ice around my Heart And in my veins As the fingers of its warmth Caressed My empty soul And just as the Sun Rejuvenates Life in the spring My heart was reborn Which brings us to now The time in my life --- That I choose to call --- The Rising --- For each day With the Rising of the Sun I let the warmth And the light Replenish my soul--- With love Written for Christie's "The Soul of Sunshine" Contest

"Ice encased my heart and flowed through my veins" is a feeling to which we can all relate. I am glad you found the sunshine to "Replenish" your soul! Very nice verse, Carolyn PS, Thanks for reading "Unicorn." It came from the heart of a nightmare-ridden soul."
