I'm swept away Carried in a stream of consciousness Pulled along connected and opposing thoughts Concussed by revelations Pulled beneath the current To the depths of understanding Rising to the surface Churned in heartache Wrapped in passion Bouncing off rocks of indecision Grasping at straws along the shore Letting go Overpowered Getting that sinking feeling Being lifted Oh what a ride Heading to open water Mixing All thoughts become one Stillness Tranquility Thankful Returned to the source

This is beautifully penned. Did you mean "Bouncing of rocks" or "Bouncing off rocks"? This writing is certainly a great metaphor for the roller coasters of our daily lives.

Whoa Richard! This is deep - I don't want to imagine getting swept away- the thought is scary(I prefer being on solid ground) but I understand the feelings you portray in the poem...it puts things into perspective. Well penned, intense, touching and well stated.
