The Soup

I'm glad to be part of the soup, it has many flavors in the pot. We are such an amazing group, sometimes It's cold, I prefer hot. Overall it is a great place, i'm glad to be part of the soup. Who knew I would like cyberspace? I often come here to regroup. Since being here I've gained new friends, they have taught me many things. I'm glad to be part of the soup, when I'm here it makes my heart sing It's a good place to learn and grow I was taught by a gifted troop, embracing what they had to show. I'm glad to be part of the soup. Alexis Y. 08-06-16 *This is dedicated to a poetic friend who suggested that I do this form. A Quatern is a sixteen line French form composed of four quatrains. It is similar to the Kyrielle and the Retourne. It has a refrain that is in a different place in each quatrain. The first line of stanza one is the second line of stanza two, third line of stanza three, and fouth line of stanza four. A quatern has eight syllables per line. It does not have to be iambic or follow a set rhyme scheme. line 1 line 2 line 3 line 4 line 5 line 6 (line 1) line 7 line 8 line 9 line 10 line 11 (line 1) line 12 line 13 line 14 line 15 line 16 (line 1)

A very sweet and honest poem, Alexis. Good quatrain form, I must admit. I've mislabeled a few of my poems as quatrain. But, I'm learning too. Ty for sharing such a warm bowl of feel-good soup for everybody. I promise not to be a soup nazi today. Love and more love to you and yours.

Hi Alexis, a wonderful write on your feelings about the soup and soupers. An excellent poem Alexis. The soup, many different things to many people, yet all are needed to make a beautiful bowl. Have a good day. This has to be a seven. Hugs....Mike. XX

The essence of your poem for me deserves a huge seven for it is honest and true. I for one am grateful to the soup for it gave me the opportunity to express myself and to grow poetically, furthermore, met a lot of fine poets and people. Of course there were some not that fine but even them have helped. Bravo dear, Alexis!
