The leaking chimney

smoke spreads
all around and upwards
water spreads
all around and downwards

maintenance men
express their apology
for the storm
for the rain
for the cold
for their workload
delaying the necessary repair
while the black sky
still shows
a clear rain forebode

maintenance men
understand our agony
because of the storm
because of the rain
because of the cold
because of their workload
hoping untill then
by them to take care
while the weather
still shows
a code red mode

smoke spreads
further and thicker
water spreads
more and quicker

they try to survive
seal mop and brush
in this huge flush
they are waiting
for a simple gold rush
of dryness, quietude
and men for a repair

Ellie, I enjoyed the perilous journey this poem took me on where weather takes on an ambiguous personality, quite like some people.
