The Hues That Visit Me

Most days I’m basking in sweet Yellow’s hue. Despite some woes, I often do okay. Perhaps I’ll fret or feel a little Blue. But even then, I search for just one ray of sunshine! Other colors visit me. From time to time, I feel Red’s passion stir inside me, but (and very thankfully) I’m not a friend of Black, the torturer, although I’ve spied his shadow at my door. The Green-eyed monster seldom do I see, but Green and Blue of nature I adore! And when I surge with creativity - approaching Lavender - I feel I’m whole, for then. . . . imagination takes my soul. Gordon Lightfoot song title used: Approaching Lavender

Andrea, I never heard this song, but I love the way you feel the passion and sweetness in nature's colors. I try to stay away from the green-eyed monster too. Lavender is such a lovely color. A winner for sure! Love, Carolyn

I don't know the song, but I like your poem and how you used the other colors to lead into lavender, the most important, at the end. good luck in the contest!

Ah, the various colors that encompass our aura's do indeed all come for a visit from time to time, its which we choose to carry with us a majority of the time that helps to define us. Great poetry Mrs. Andrea, very creative and vivid use of colors and imagery.
