The Day

This is the day the lord was born
In a stable early morn
Amongst the Ox and Asses there
A saviour who our sins would bear

The day we eat and fill ourselves
And children think of Santa’s elves
Yet through all this, the word is lost
On money now we count the cost

The day the lord gave us his son
Is all to sudden gone and done
Without a thought for Christmas day
Perhaps we ought to stop and pray

Pray for what I hear you ask
An end to war though what a task
For those who sleep out in the street
For those who starve with nothing to eat

For all those who are on their own
For anyone who’s young or grown
For loved ones who have passed away
Let us find some time to pray

Remember it is giving that counts
Not receiving in big amounts
The thought the word the act the deed
All done in Jesus’s name I plead

Oh, beautiful, Owen. Yes, sometimes we forget that. It's God's gift to man. We should take the time. Lovely.

I like this! Most often we forget that the children are watching, the circle continues..filling our lives with unecessary "things". Is it any wonder we are not happy!? God bless. Always, Annalise
