The Dark Lord

No one knows
where he goes,
or who he is,
or what he brings.

He rules us all
from his hall
on ethereal planes
inside of space.

He is a ghost
in your home.
His dark embrace
brings the haste.

He hates the ones,
the ones like you,
who do not know
what to do.

He reins you in
with secret power,
to leave you in
your darkest hour.

A mage once,
and once again,
eludes the judgment
of existence.

Very well written Brian. He is a sorcerer of evil not a magician. Last stanza is powerful .well done .Anne

Brian I enjoyed how you put this together. If you would though, please explain the last verse to me.

In this poem, the mechanisms of existence have been altered to allow evil people to escape karmic retribution. For this reason, the Dark Lord escapes judgment and punishment for his evil acts.
