That Girl

A shadow a glimpse
An unspoken word
A flicker or truth
In that whisper you heard

So still and unmoving
You can't look away
You stare at her steady
And hope that she'll stay

You're dying to know
What's behind her sweet face
Your questions are building
Your words can't be placed

A girl so lovely
So warm yet so cold
Has secrets of many
A life's story untold

So young and so small
Yet her wisdom is strong
And abruptly she turns
And her beauty is gone
