Ten Thousand Losses

As a baseball team entity, in existence since 1883, most seasons reeked with mediocrity. Numerous generations living in Philly have seen your teams play the game pitifully. You have a dubious distinction of futility. As the first franchise to lose its ten thousandth game, you have reached an unprecedented mark of shame. However, your boys have not performed badly since the beginning of the twenty-first century. Forget about those years your squads finished last. There is no need to dwell on the past. Your latest team has taken the field with players having much talent to yield. With what you have currently, and continued progression, another championship can be within your possession.
