I'm smiling I'm smiling Tears in my eyes Ready to fall 'Bout ready to cry I'm happy I'm happy Well at least i'm trying To be This is a new year A new year Time for a different me A better me A better me One thats not going to Lie in unhappiness I'm smiling I'm happy This is a new year Time for a better me Tears in my eyes I wipe them dry No time for past cries A new me A new me.....

Breana, this poem has such universal appeal. We have all looked at the new year as the start of new life. Unfortunately, the day you wrote this was the day my father had a stroke. He died a short time after. I just had to read it and now I feel "'bout ready to cry." Beautiful poem. Love, Carolyn
