Sweet William

An apple green on crowned head
Within a target tinted red
Love's ruining poison tip
Impales as emeralds drip

Laboriously descend evermore,
Scattering droplets to the floor.
Awakening ardor tis not a solemn duty
For I be not thine sleeping beauty

Thou art not prince charming,
Though thine charms so disarming.
Sweet William I must telltale
Thus thine devotions indubitably fail.

Mine remote heart tarnished cold,
Thou seeks a treasure uneasy to hold.
Mine winterous lips but frozen bliss,
For thine advances I dismiss.

Save thine passions for another's favor
For thine lips she shall savor.
Love has no depths to score,
Mine heart, jaded to the core.
