Streetlights

Streetlights in the night air Streetlights light up the city Underneath them youth yearn Teenage boys and girls embrace An old man passes by Alone he heads for his abode Where he can sleep Autos rush by their "whoosh" resounds in the urban evening Gazing from my window I see lights all around the city Streetlights - they guide you home Your home in the asphalt homeland

There are plenty of streetlights in an urban setting. You have described them well here.

nice imagery. I wonder why you call it concrete? Were you thinking of the asphalt?

very nice, matt. I am wondering. Does concrete poem mean it should look like a street light? I just saw someone's poem categorized as concrete and they had it in the shape of a tree.

You made the asphalt sound like home... Enjoyed the gazing stars... Matt, your poetry is the best... LINDA
