Still Waiting

You loved me just a little You never loved me long; But you gave my soul serenity And gave my heart a song. You loved me for a moment I found it in your eyes; But your mouth I could not capture By temptation or surprise. Sweet lips that I remember With a poignant surge of pain As one remembers fragrance Of the softly falling rain. Within this world of wonder Without warning I feel sad; The dream I hold still haunts me For the kiss I never had.

Elizabeth you have this unique ability to encapsulate emotion in the past and present existence and leave the reader in a little state of meditation or what some call "muse". I love your work and I especially enjoyed your book.Thank you for sharing that with the world at large. Most who either don't know of it or have never read it will never know of the gems they are missing.

You sure captured the regret here so well and I think at one point in our lives, we all get to experience this... beautifully captured (as always, Lizzie)-- I see this won, so congrats to you as well-- and thank you for passing by my poems, you are sweet to do so and I am doing ok, thank you-- hmm I'm afraid I haven't really been writing lately-- I try though, but not something I want to post here right now...but yes, I will be writing something by next week ;)-- hugs to you!

Love was at your finger tips. It's taste was on your tongue. A kiss would take you back again to days when you were young. You close your eyes and press your lips against your lovers own. Sparks ignite in colors bright like nothing you have known. The longing for a lovers kiss is buried in the heart. Chained to pains desire for a love that's kept apart. Well done Elizabeth. You made me think in poetry. Thanks for writing.

Dear Lizzie, Oh how I wish I could write with the command you have of creating an unforgetable poem. Seasoned with romance, bitter sweet, and melancholy, bursting with joy and sorrow intertwined. Into my fav's and leaving me smiling, longing.....Love, Lotus
