Small

The ability to see the small, is a very large thing. Some people who fly, were not born with wings Stop for a moment, life should not be a race You can make a huge world, a very intimate place A subtle emotion becomes obvious and clear. Someone who seems at a distance, is actually quite near. What we thought was different is actually the same. Others can seem at fault when we are to blame. Silence can speak loudly, if we take time to hear. Over confidence the mask, that is hiding our fear. Jokes may not be happy, they can be masking sad. What we imagine as good, can sometimes be bad. When things seem the worst, they end up being best. We think we should be busy, when we need some rest. So the little can be mighty, the large can be weak. The small things that are hidden, can be found if we seek. Inspired by A small poem Tanka 2 by Timothy Hicks.

Well I should probably get off the computer and start packing for my flight back to the states. I just wanted to let you know that I've responded to both of your comments on Confused Beliefs at a Tender Age. Next time I sign on, I should be in America!

I liked your omission of the word ring, towards the beginning. A very intimate place sounds better than a very intimate ring, and more logical sense. I'm curious do you typically write very quickly? For me it depends but most of the time, when I write something it doesn't take more than a few minutes to 15 at most. I'd like to say it takes longer, but typically it doesn't...

I tend to write quickly and go back to what I write to work out technical details. If I don't write fast I lose my poems to a place I am unable to access again.

I am amazed at how you quickly you wrote this so soon after reading my little poem. I really love the train of thought, as well! When I was on my first flight to Minneapolis all the people don't below looked more and more insignificant and yet they were no different than me... it's all a matter of perspective it seems. So happy that I inspired you... what a gem of poem and much food for thought!
