Self Portrait

I’m painting a picture
A self-portrait so to speak;
What colors inhabit
The space in my mind?
The choice is mine to make.

The blackness of my sin,
 Or the grey of the hole I was in?
The red of anger to those
That turned against me,
Or a soft, peaceful blue?

I look at my blood covered sin
And see white.

Forgiven and forgotten
You see no sin or hate.

I am covered in white,
Your spotless bride
Ready for her bridegroom.

    This hit so hard. Perception, self & from others, can be your best friend or your worst enemy. This was gripping & intense.
