Second Wind

It’s so funny how love can make life seem so perfect

In that moment it feels as if nothing can go wrong

I remember thinking that there would never be times of sadness

Naivete I suppose

At any rate I figured it out for myself

There’s really no way to stop the rain

All I can do is gather the necessary tools to keep from drowning

Parkas and umbrellas…whatever I can use

Even so at times I’m going to get wet, drenched even

I just have to keep pushing

I have to fight with a renewed strength

When I stumble I’ll find a second wind

It’s imperative that I never let my vigor and zeal for living by washed away

There’s something to be said about weathering the storm

Now I know it personally

Yesterday’s troubles are dead and gone

Nobody is stopping this
